Twins Meeting Father First Time - Montel William's Show

  • In 1999, when this was filmed, my fraternal twin sister wrote into various talk shows wanting help to find our birth father after we had been initially adopted as infants and then ended up in foster homes as well as homeless when released by the state to our own responsibility. At this time in my life, at the age of 23, I was struggling to pay my way through college, had just been homeless the year prior and was experiencing anxiety and depression. But, my sister reached out sharing Montel wanted us on his show to share our story.
As a result, 20 years later, I have been on a journey of self discovery and understanding the hero's journey that we all have and since worked with and represented the likes of Deepak Chopra & Tony Robbins so as to support others in being empowered in their own journeys. Remember, we are all the Creator of lives we love no matter our circumstances or what has happened to us. You are perfect, whole & complete. Sending much love and light to you. May this story inspire...

I never found my bio dad and I had a mother that rejected me. I don’t remember her ever hugging me even once. She also did not protect me from her abusive husband.
I married an abuser and after 46 I survived and am alone now at age 68. I’m glad you survived too and it looks like you have have your heads on straight and are sweet girls.

I was so thrilled that you girls FINALLY met your Father. Having it happen on TV was not the perfect situation, in front of so many people. Montel was so good giving you a bit of time alone. I loved how he was beaming when the test said he is your Father. You girls look so very much like him. I am so happy for all of you.

My girls barely got to know their dad for about 4 1/2 years and he died right before they started senior year. They're doing well. I hope you both are married and have children and are filled with lots of Love.

Those children should be care first even that is not your child after all it possibility is there you could be. Those are beautiful girls and kind at heart. I wish the best for the best for the two of them.

@@hawkinsheidi Hi Heidi . I want to express you all my sympathy and my empathy for you and your sister for all the pain you both endured during the early years of your lives . You both were born beautiful and remained beautiful still to this day . Scrolling trhough the commentary and seeing that your father passed away make me feel sorry for you both , but at least you had the this response of where you two came from and hopefully had the chance to be father and daughters , share and catch some of the time you all been separated . Being on this planet is part of a journey and it never easy for most of us . I want to tell you , that you were not the only one to suffer , to struggle , to be separated , estranged , alienated . You two as beautiful as you are share this kind of pain with hundreds of millions of human beings worldwide throughout history and right now . We don't came to this planet by chance . Every human being is here for a reason , a mission whatever it could be a bad mission or a good misson , but ultimately every body has to pick a side . The lesson from all of this is the fight for ourselves . That despite everything , we must keep going on and you staying to this day is a win ! You won against all the odds . His wife, my mother, also had slept with someone else when they were separated for a bit and so when she became pregnant no one knew or would be able to have a way to find out who the father was. Michael Garcia hi. First, it was 1975. They didn’t have paternity tests for another 20(?) years or so. They also gave us up for adoption because they were 18 and immature, with a broken relationship/marriage so it didn’t matter. The way they share the story, makes him look like a jerk. Wasn’t the case.

Heidi, ignore the negative comments that people make. My husband was adopted at birth. We tried for years to find his birth mom. We had her name, but there were hundreds of women with that name. She was only 16 when she had him in 1957, so there was no way she could keep him. My husband finally did the DNA test, and that helped us find both sides of his family. Sadly, both of his parents had died young, but we found half-sisters, aunts, uncles, and many cousins. He finally found answers that he always wanted. People asked why he cared after all those years. I think it's normal to always want to know where you came from. I'm glad that you got to meet your dad.

Why would he believe they were not his at all 👀? Was it simply denial or irresponsible behavior?
Even if he was doubtful...he could have stuck around to find out. Were there dna tests back then? He could have had one done or at least have a blood type test done.
Actually, by simply looking at them, he would have been able to tell whether they felt his or not. Sometimes you just feel it and see it in their faces. He could have even asked his mom to spend time with them for her to see if she saw her child's features in those babies. Grandmas are so good at that.
However he just left? His doubts were just excuses. I'm so sad for those girls :'(

And, please don't be sad for me. ;) I'm the woman who posted this video you are speaking about and what they don't tell you in the show is my birth mother cheated on him and in 1975 when we were born there was no such thing as DNA tests. She didn't even know who the father was. After neither man worked out, she dropped us off at the hospital a year into having us to tell them she didn't want us anymore. The only reason we suspected he was our father over the years was because he was married to her at the time and was on our birth certificate. Don't judge so quickly. ;) It was her.

It is much better than the TV quality we had growing up in the '70s. One gets used to it and adjusts. Try looking at clouds on a summery day. They really do form shapes, figures, people.

I wish sometimes that if the woman its prignet have the baby and give to the father to raised the baby , if they don't want kids they should do the vasectomia not leaving babys wonder for the world ! The fathers dont teach them the value of a human life becouse they are the one who give life they should be more responsable

Georgina Mannor I’m one of the twins. Not everything is revealed here. First, it was 1975. There were no blood or genetic tests then like there is now. 2nd: They were 19 and lots of drama in their relationship. 3rd: My birth mother had been intimate with a different man so she didn’t know who the father was and was by no means a saint in this. 4th: He was legally obligated to sign papers releasing us to be adopted only because they were married (at 18) so it’s assumed he was the father and that is the only reason we were able to eventually track him down. The point? It was a complicated scenario and he did nothing wrong. I’ll have to update the intro I wrote when I originally posted this years ago. Thanks. And, remember to always think about something a few different ways. Not everything is at it seems.

@Meadow Apple Hi. I'm not sure how to validate that there were actual blood tests but either way, he was unable to take care of us and after meeting him, I learned of his lifestyle which did not agree with the kind of environment I would've wanted to grow up in anyway so I'm happy he did not raise us at his young age of 19. :) He had no other children. Thank you for asking. He's since passed so this chapter in my life is closed. So happy to have at least met him and heard his side of the story which is much more than a 15 min segment could ever capture.

He thought he might not be the father. Well there was obviously a chance that he was. Poor poor excuse. Anyhow I love my children for who they are not because they are biologically mine. I don’t mind someone having a child adopted but pure denial and lack of accepting responsibility I absolutely abhor.

I'm sorry to say. I don't like to judge, but I don't think he had a lot of emotions.

And to stand for a man who can no longer stand for himself, R.I.P., he was 18 and his relationship was on and off where when he found out his wife at the time was pregnant, neither knew who the father was so I can see why. 1975 also didn’t have paternity tests so he was forced into signing adoption papers not knowing for all those years.
