Believing in a stereotype and usually asking other races of those stereotypes is HIGHLY racist… I don’t know how many times on a daily when I’m around white people they ask me ignorant azz black stereotypes - so yes it’s racist. It’s not my job to go around teaching white people or anybody what’s not appropriate - it’s highly privileged, entitled and rude to just come up to another race and ask them a question you want to know when the question is usually about a stereotype

As a black person I’ve seen and experienced that sooo much! I’ll be talking to a non black coworker and they might try to describe someone to me and won’t use the word black. If I know who they are talking about and I say “ oh ya that black costumer they will then agree. It’s like they were hoping I’d say it so they wouldn’t have to.

I think everyone can be racist, whether it's subtle or extreme. The best way to solve that is even though someone may be different from you, don't dislike them for that. Be compassionate and kind to someone even though they may not deserve it
I agree I’ve said some racist things when I was younger without even realizing it bc I didn’t even know what racism was and I’ve also done so now that I’m older and think back on it like that was kinda racist but as someone on here said the intention behind it matters a lot and in my case it wasn’t intentional it was kinda like an observation but still I am at fault.

Being Chinese, in New Zealand. I grew up in Elementary, and even secondary school as the only Chinese and I was always looked at every time Asian ethnicity was brought up, greeted in Asian languages (since people assumed I'm ____ race) and it used to bother me till I grew used to societys racism towards Asians lmao. Secondary school, had a teacher who was narcissistic and genuinely racist to me. Was always making fun of Asians while teaching (was 10 and 11 through the 2 years of secondary school) and remembered constantly crying cause of the Asian hate. Went on holiday, and coming back to being told by everyone and my closest friends that she was making fun of Asians even more while I was gone... Smh

I kind of agree with the Morgan freeman thing. By talking about differences in race all the time, doesn't that imply that everyone from a certain race should act the same/share the same culture? that's not true at all. it's one thing to talk about culture, it's another to assume that skin tone and physical features determine personality, culture, interests, etc. I think by not acknowledging race, we are free to acknowledge everything important about someone other than what they look like

As a black person I always hate when i hear other black people say they can’t be racist. It always comes from them thinking that just because slavery happened that it absolves us from being racist. But in reality you can be because you could say mean/hateful racist things to someone from any race.

my takes on all this:
saying that "well if we just stop talking about racism, then there would be none" is very much true, but impossible. Racism I feel like will always be prevalent, especially in today's society. There will always be racist people...the KKK still exists.
I don't think Black History Month is a bad thing either, black people have been through much historically and still achieved great things. Is it bad that it's acknowledged?
I think "racism" is defined as discrimination against a particular race, solely because of their race. So saying "black people are generally better than white people at basketball" is not racist, while saying "I don't want this white person on my basketball team because he's white" is racist.
To that guy that said he's racist because he's white, maybe the system is institutionally racist & maybe white people have racism tied to their histrionics but that doesn't make you racist yourself.
All we can do to help or "solve" racism is spread love and positivity. 💙

This made me think about some people that bring race into everything especially people on the Internet like what the guy in the video said basically you can’t speech on this topic or don’t have the right to bc your not this or that just bc your not a certain race doesn’t mean you can’t speech on a certain topic yes you might not understand it as much as the race it’s directed toward but if your on the topic it’s simply either from experience or for wanting knowledge on it or you can just be wanting to share your point of view. It has nothing to do with race and even if it’s directed towards a certain race doesn’t mean at all that it’s true yeah I know they have some people that like to come with there so called stats but although that could be the majority don’t forget about the minority and in some cases it could be neither. Plus don’t let someone else tell you what you have the right to talk about and what you do not if you feel like you can’t speech on a certain topic then don’t but just don’t be afraid to bc someone else told you you can’t.

It all depends who you are with, I'm Hispanic and my friends are Black, Indian, and White and we always have our jokes with each other and we don't get offended because we all know it's jokes and just for laughs. It's all about who you are with and how they feel.

10:15 this actually happened to one of my friends, he was a very genuine person with great attitude but incredibly hated on only because he was quiet and white. It was sad because I watched him slowly turn more and more antisocial, he didn't trust anyone besides me and a few other friends. Eventually things would escalate and the "POCs" of our class would bully him, make fun of "stains" on his t-shirt, just flat out bullying. Then he actually gave a reason for people to dislike him, in response to being made fun of for being white, he called a mexican a slur. It just turned into this repeating hate and bullying towards him.

I'm Indonesian and been raised with that culture, I have a friend that's black who was raised the exact same way and they would say racist shit to him but almosg never to me.. which is crazy because we've been raised with the same culture, like people be making up assumptions but even tho we look different, our childhood and the way we've been raised has pretty much been the same.. I never understood it and probably never will, we're all different but that's a beautiful thing, different cultures, different ways of life, we can learn alot from each other & I love that shit fr🖤
