I absolutely love this piece! It was the first song I had for pre-ceremony music after retiring from the U.S. Navy; not this particular arrangement, but it's still a kick-ass tune!

Don’t get too emotional over music today, but THIS really gets the blood going. Have also seen an ELP video w/ them doing it. This has become a top 4 or 5 favorite classical melodies . Majestic, and fantastic!
Very surprising. I would have thought that a military orchestra, especially a British military orchestra would have played a classical version, as written by Copeland. Still a wonderful performance. Never underestimate the military, in music, medicine, technology, or science, they will very often, definitely surprise you.

I believe it's for sound mixing and to allow the other musicians to hear themselves. Otherwise the drums are prone to over-powering everything/everybody else.
