THANK YOU for this! This is a marvelous transcription as well as a tempo that allows you to get it up closer to the record version with Jimmy and Speedy.
I prefer your version to the recorded one. The background voice is more seductive than the guy shouting ‘boogie man!’. My tele thanks you for feeding it this stuff 🎸✌️
This is my favourite tune, it is almost a year that I am trying to learn it, too fast for my level but it is so much fun to play it. Thanks a lot Brian
Awesome ! Thanks to you, I could Listen to a JBs song that I didn't know. I will purchase this record. And of course Thank you so much for posting, I love your playing and your videos.
Keep up the great tabs , this was great. These are hard tabs to find..... when I was a kid I would have to sit with my record player slowed down and it would have taken me three months to get this down lol
Can't thank you enough for this video, it made me super committed to learn the song! Also love your tone in this video, could you share some details around your signal chain and recording method? 🙂
Incredible, probably the funnest song I’ve ever learned! Thank you. Only thing.. I swear you’re playing something different on the little transition phrase with the slide up on the Db and Bb to D and C, I swear I hear Bb sliding down to A… both in your playing and in the recording. Anyone else with me or am I crazy?
I double tracked the guitar just like in the original recording, panned hard left (Jimmy Bryant) and right (Speedy West) I think lol. I think Speedy's side just had an open E string and no other notes. So if you wanted to come closer to sounding like two guitars parts together, just slide into D & B note and grab the open E string when doing so! Hope that helps!
Hey Brian -- Technical question - any real advantage to hybrid picking if you can play this with your fingers? I'm a bit odd in that I first learned classical and have a pretty strong right in in terms of speed & dexterity ... however when holding a pick I've learned to favor using my thumb and middle finger rather than thumb and index (probably wrong but it always felt more comfortable to me). Obviously that doesn't work with hybrid picking. So far I'm able to play the sections I've made it through using only fingers and it works for me but just wanted to get some outside input as I'm newer to this style of playing
Hey! Im not a finger style player myself so I wouldn’t take my word as fact lol. But I do know for sure there is a very country guitar specific thing that happens when you play hard with a pick or thumb pick really close to the bridge of a guitar. From Luther Perkins, Don Rich, Jimmy Bryant to the modern guys Brent Mason, Brad Paisley they are all hybrid picking. So if you’re looking for that specific sound I would recommend fussing with a pick or a thumb pick to get that traditional country guitar sound. If you’re not interested in that don’t worry about it and play what ever feels comfortable! Hope that answers your question!
@@BrianPoston that for sure makes sense! Good point re picking near the bridge. I feel like when I play fingers only it's a less more bluesy, and less twang
I’ve used two programs, Sibelius & Guitar Pro! They are both great and do the same thing effectively! Guitar pro is guitar centric so I would recommend checking that one out if your a guitar player!

Great video and performance!! 👏 Could you tell me how you made this nice stereo effect? Thanks a lot
I doubled it and panned it hard left and right, just like Jimmy and Speedy!
What software is the notation that gets it to go witht he music in time?

What is your setup pedal wise
A tuner! I don’t use anything, this recording is double tracked though so it might sound like a delay but it’s not.
Where can I find the backing track for this?! This is perfect
