  • Hi,
    Welcome back to my channel.
In this video I show you how to install an aftermarket race air filter in a 2017 Yamaha MT09. I also go into detail on the airbox snorkel modification to improve airflow into the airbox. You can use this video as a guide to just replacing your stock airfilter.
    Thanks for watching.

Hard to tell, but combined it's more responsive. Slightly more induction noise aswell.

Hi I just got an error code P2195 after installed that K&N air filter. Do you think that's because I disconnected the ECU? Thanks.

      @craigslistofprojects3451  11 месяцев назад

Hey mate, yes 100% cause if you disconnect it, you will get the error code and light on dash. You can clear it with a code reader, but don't forget to also buy the yamaha connector. All available on eBay.

@@craigslistofprojects3451 Thanks. I've got the OBD2 scanner and the adapter. That's how I got the error code. So you think everything should be fine just because the ECU was disconnected and needs relearning?

How did you get the tubes off? I tried before with mine and they wouldn’t budge

Nice video, tks, but cutting the plastic cornett what is the sense? More air? Change response or other?

    • @craigslistofprojects3451

Hi Solferino, the theory is increased airflow with less restriction.

@@solferinomichelotti2985 no because the position of the throttle butterfly wether partially or fully open is the device that controls the amount of airflow entering the engine. Cutting air intake & increasing the orifice size allows more air entering the engine via the throttle body which is connected to your throttle. The reason you have to get the on board computer reprogrammed is to cope with increased air entering your engine. By reprogramming the software allows the injectors to stay open longer increasing the amount of fuel to have perfect fuel ratio of 14:1. 🖐🇦🇺

Minor improvement in throttle response and slightly more induction noise under load. 👍

any changes from changing air filter??

Noticeably sharper throttle response, lot more induction noise and for some reason 4th gear is a lot livelier.
Really needs a tune to make the most of the increased air flow.

Why do you say a K&N filter upgrade?
That so called filter let's dirt into your engine.
Watch " project farm " air filter review. If you keep using it after that we'll it's on you.

@@tomg6284 upgrade as in higher air flow, yes you are right, higher flow equals less filtration. The choice is all yours, I ride in perfect conditions and over service my bikes so happy with my choice.
