Just some catching tips from a fellow high school catcher: after you give the pitcher a target, drop the mitt, and move it up to catch it. It really helps on lower pitches such as at 1:45. Awesome video though. The world needs some more polite + polite catchers like you.
I'm a pitcher and I have mad respect for catchers because they sometimes have to play 9 innings in 100 degree weather in all that gear. Even without the heat it still is challenging.
Me being catcher, I love watching other catchers play. Especially if they're wearing a camera. It just gives people the chance to see what it's like to be a catcher.
I’m a center fielder, have been for most of the time I played baseball, and running around in the heat some days can be very challenging, But I have lots of respect for you because being a catcher is definitely the most challenging position, and to think that you have to wear all that gear for nine innings is terrible. Respect.
what I recommend is that you tell your coach that you hate the out field if you do) and they will most likely not put u there my personally i hated it and told my coach he hasn't put me in outfield yet but i play mostly catcher.
Anyone who plays baseball respects catchers. I have 2 main catchers on my team, one of them is super chill and checked up on me constantly after i had a pretty big injury. The second one i dont know so well bevause they are newer, but they are still pretty cool. I have met a few bad catchers, but usually they are all the best guys on the team.
I was my team's starting catcher all through highschool. Cold weather and really hot weather too. This brings back so many memories. Man I loved playing ball.
I love this game. No matter who you are. There is just something special about baseball. Great video. Never forget it's all truly about having fun. I just have one question. Was the blue at second base the only umpire on the field. It sounded like he was calling the pitches also. Am I right or wrong?
As a cricketer i feel the ball so easy to hit out of the ground because every ball in baseball is a "fulltoss" which is the esiest ball to hit by any batsmen, and that too if cricketer is given a baseball bat to hit the ball.
Im shortstop and I fairly respect our catcher. When me and 1st are trying to get the ball from out field, catcher is always ready for me or 1st to throw home.
@@danielcruvant6041 must be because you're 9 that you don't think farther than your nose. When you're 9 you pitch from like 46 feet so of course you're going to pitch that fast over a shorter distance. These guys are probably at 60ft. The ball loses momentum over a longer distance
Tip: You don’t have to stand up every single time when you throw the ball back to the pitcher, and when strike 3 is called and no one is on throw that thing around
I’m an old man now, but I still enjoy watching baseball at any level. Watching this brought back good memories of summers spent at the ballpark playing baseball. Some of my buddies are no longer with us but I am left with great memories. Enjoy it young men, it goes by fast! Nice pitching and catching in this video!!
I am a pitcher who used to catch and I have just one question for the catcher. On a scale of one to ten how bad do your knees hurt by the end of the season?
@@texsion most likely, you can tell by the condition of the field too. the clay doesn't look like its maintained at all. but they all did have to pay the league to play, and there're probably multiple teams with at least 11 kids on each team, so funding shouldn't really be an issue. and there's usually a concession stand that brings in decent money too, but than again this looks very rural so that's probably not the case.
Bro much love for our catchers. Never caught in a game but I had to do bullpen a lot for some reason and that shit was ass. Couldn't imagine doing that for a game when foul balls catch you all the time especially if its hot asf
awesome idea, i think i'll try this at practice. Also if you drop your arm till the pitcher is set and flash where you want the ball, you can get more comfortable behind the plate. Just a tip. I think i'm actually similarly aged to you.
