Excellent presentation by a fully grown-up Magali. This sensual classic fits you perfectly. Don't let anyone tell you differently. Keep it in your repertoire. Andreu Zaragoza...Thank you!
this girl is a great vocalist. great style and musical sensibility. She has traces of Billie Holiday but better for sure.I just ordered he cd and am looking forward to hearing more of her!
Magali steals my ❤️...So soft and lovely...I sit quietly in my studio enjoying her music, my eyes closed to imagine I’m next to her. And the young guitarist is superb.
ever since I discovered her on RUclips I listen to her every day . She is a gem and I hope she makes a tour of the USA or else I will have to fly from SanDiego to Barcelona which I am considering.
I first heard this about a year ago and just happened upon it again. Damn its good! With a closer listen it impressed me more this time. Magali is unique and a treasure. I hope she gets more widespread exposure to a bigger audience!
Excellent performance and the microphone picked up Magali's bass very well. I should have added that one should turn up the volume, if necessary, to hear the bass. Since there is no big band, you won't bother the neighbors.
This was a tough number for Datzira to take let alone playing bass as well!! Bravo young lady. The guitarist excelled with a brilliant improvisation which added to the backing for Datzira. To the two talented musicians..”Well done”!
Guitarist complements Magali's performance nicely. Rare to hear Magali solo on bass. Sadly it looks like it will be a while before I can get to Barcelona to catch a performance like this live.
Y a du potentiel. Un son et un jeu de guitare hors du commun. La dame a un vrai charisme de chanteuse. Pour l'équilibre de la chanson je ne suis pas partisan de donner un chorus aux deux instruments. Chant/chorus guitare/chant.
@@GH-oi2jf you tube is so stupid. You go to my head was written by J Fred Coots and lyricist Haven Gillespie. For those of us in the USA coots was best known for "Santa Claus is coming to town." But please, joan, don't hand that to your students. But coots also write for Ellington's cotton club shows
Why did you leave Joan Chamorro? Don't reinvent yourself and don't try to modify a classic. Don't break it. You don't have to follow billie Holyday's destiny, all the way ...
Did she leave Joan? Didn't she just get older? I was under the impression that he worked with students until they were eighteen and then they left to make room for others. I don't think she is reinventing herself. I think she is developing her self. That performance stands with her first video of 'Nature Boy.' She hasn't modified anything. A song gets to be a classic because it can be interpreted many ways. And what makes you say she is following Billie Holliday's destiny? That makes no sense whatsoever. Holliday is certainly the stepping off point for all the Joan Chamorro singers. But they are totally distinct; influenced - but they don't copy her.
@@andrewbillek9209 She left in 2016, at (corrected )18-19 yo, no reason known to me, while the median age of departure is 20, as Joan told me. Carla and Elia are two of recent examples of this. Some members seek independence from "teacher and family" earlier, like Magali, Rita and Abril. Otherwise, I agree. They take their clues from the greats, learn from their patterns and develop their own styles in their own exciting lives!
@@paulsj9245 I didn't realize Magali had left that early, that's interesting. But I'm not sure Rita and Abril did leave early, although of course it depends on how you define "early". But weren't Rita and Abril still playing with Joan between 1 to 2 years ago?
@@chanelops Magali left in 2016, just before I came to see the band. Her CD was a petty surrogate to me on the drive back from Switzerland :( IIRC, Rita left mid 2018, at about 18 years. I consider this "early" though others might see it differently. She's quite (youtube-)active in playing with and without her mother, Ms. Roma. Abril, also leaving 2018(?), is significantly younger. She may have been 16 when she started her own project "on the blue ride" at that time. Again, I know no reasons, and I'm too far off to start rumours as a distant observer of youtube videos.
@@paulsj9245 Yes, you are right about Abril, I keep forgetting how young she is - born in late 2001, so that makes her 19 now, probably left the band at either 17 or 18. But I think she had the blue ride thing going in parallel before then. I really miss her. Heck, I miss them all! :(
Magali..Voys êtes une superbe voix de Jazz❤

“Unique” can’t be qualified, as in “very unique”. Something is either unique or not unique- but I know what you meant.
@@FlaschDJ Thanks for the grammar lesson.
This is beautiful music. Both are great. She is unique.
BravooooO !!!!

Nice version. Talent always rises to the top! I’ve always admired musicians who play fretless stringed instruments.
