So true. The blend seemed so unnatural on first thought because it's rare that East meets West and it works ... but both of these bands have some of the best production value in the world, and putting them together and seeing the amount of fun they were having in the video puts a smile on your face. Easily best song of the year nothing comes close
I love what's happening with the metal genre via EC, WBTBWB et al. The edgy, "blood, gore and praise satan" theme in metal was getting boring anyway...

I think my favourite part of every reaction to this song....is when someone in the comments mentions that the second "ARE YOU READY" in the harsh vocal breakdown and the "EVERY BODY" harsh vocals at the end are done by Momometal and not Kevin or Nico lol...today I am that person!!!

Holy shit you're right I did not catch that at all! That's so rad! While everyone of course misses Yui, Momo was such a good addition to BABYMETAL. Really looking forward to her harsh vocals showing up their future songs.

Fun fact Momometal knows how to growl and she does a few of them in the breakdown and throughout the song. It can be heard best after Kevin scream the first "Are you ready" the second "Are you ready" scream you heard after that is Momometal.
No reactor has noticed her growls. Everyone is looking at the video. I first listened on Spotify and noticed right away that one of the women was doing harsh vocals, so I was looking for it in the video.
I read this somewhere else and started listening to that in particular. Very cool fact indeed :D

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。I witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest at Saitama Super Arena on May 25 / 26 (Japan time) . Fun, fun, fun. Happy, happy, happy. That' all, as you can imagine. The song was played in the BABYMETAL's setlist in the festival. So the band in the back of girls and Nico / Kevin was not EC band but West Kamis. That was great, too.

I got to see it live twice this weekend at FOX_FEST in Tokyo and it went so hard live. The crowd went completely nuts.

iirc, you missed the boat on 'Hanabie' when they started blowing up last year, but I'm pretty sure you'd like them because they make exactly this kind of music and is a group of 25year old Japanese girls, who started playing together in middle school with Maximum the Hormone covers some 9 years ago
I knew as soon as I saw they'd made a song it would be amazing, I mean J-Pop Metal and Dance Electronicore you know is just going to be pure happiness, I know a lot of Metalheads hate BABYMETAL but personally even though I'm not into J-Pop I love them they're just fun and just like Electric Callboy you know the song will just make you smile because it's just pure joy
It's a hot take, but frankly the self-appointed "metalheads" that hate on Babymetal are posers. Those girls are every bit as metal as the other greats of the genre. I don't wanna flip up the racism card right away, but the fact that they aren't white and westerm has probably more than a little to do with it.. When the girls have the approval of so many big names in the industry, the haters are just making themselves look terrible..

If metalheads don't like Babymetal, then they can't listen to songs like "good girls, bad guys" FIR, or "blood" by MCR. It's fun music, it doesn't always have to be growls and headbanging. Sometimes it can be a boppy vibe too.😁🤘

Since the pandemic when they released hypa hypa electric callboy is my every day band. I listen to them when I get up and when I lay down. I start and end my day with them. Those absolute bangers carry me through the days with good mood. And honestly to manage this is such an important thing while world is going nuts with war, crime and pandemics. I freaking love them and I am absolutely thankful for them to share their joy with their music with us.
