Cool video, it always makes me think how those people were able to build something like that without having modern perspectives like a drone shot. Also makes me think if one of those builders came back, how amazing it would be to show him the completed building like this.
music = 4 chord progression: b minor chord D major chord (sometimes f# minor chord) A major chord E major chord with a 4/3 suspension throw in some percussion hit the "choir" button repeat as often as necessary
Hi there, I wondered if you wouldn’t mind me using some of your footage of Durham Cathedral? I have a project which requires a few seconds viewing this man building
Hi Michael is it possible to use some of your footage in a video we are making for our local team? Credit for footage will be given with links to your channel. Thanks.
@@magstauk Ive just bought the mavic mini and was going to try to get some photos/footage but looking on the app I have it shows the no fly zones, airports ect. And was wondering if you'd had to seek permission to fly in proximity to the prison. I get a warning if I'm near Durham but it's for Franklin prison on the outskirts of the city. I have to confirm that I take responsibility in case I may encroach on the zone I would expect. Thanks for your reply. 😊
@@kelloekayaker The parts of Durham that the video shows are in a restricted area, which is set up for Franklin, Long Newton and Durham Prison - although it applies to helicopters. It's quite a large area too. I recently did some work inside the zone but only after I contacted Franklin prison (they informed Long Newton) and Durham prison to clear drone activities, as a matter or caution and courtesy, really. I had to give exact location and the start/completion times, within the area. They were very interested to know the details and that no prison buildings would be filmed or shown in the video work, for security reasons. As a matter of policy I also now inform the police, using 101, of the times and locations of the drone work. This is in case someone sees the drone flying and decides to report it to the police. Could save the police some time and manpower, and save myself some inconvenience too :-)
@@skycrafts5140 Thanks for this. i am from just outside the City and i have just bought a drone and would love to film around the town. i was aware of restrictions but didnt know who to contact. i really dont want to fall fowl of the law after just taking up this hobby. This info is much appreciated thanks again.
@@kelloekayaker You're welcome. There are differences in requirement between commercial work and using them as a hobby. But it's work looking on the CAA website. Everyone who owns and flies a drone now has to register their drone and display their drone registration number on the drone itself. The site will also give information regarding privacy laws, distances from people and buildings etc. The law has been tightened over the past year or so, for everyone, so it's a good idea to keep yourself covered. There are a number of hobbyist groups you can contact or join, they will probably be happy to give you very good advice. Enjoy 👍
Wow awesome video
Thank you for reminding me the good days back in Durham, what a lovely place.

Beautiful footage and music is top notch
Very nice! I wanted to shoot there but was under the assumption you couldn't film there.
Durham City and a large part of the area is a Restricted flight area.
Thank you for your concern.
Hi very nice video, we are looking for some footage of Durham, would it be possible for us to use a couple of clips from this?
Inspiral Life yeah that’s fine. Send me the link to your video when done.

Of course. Please credit me in the video if you can.
May i suggest you turn down sharpness, it looks a bit jaggie, and has lots of moire. (mavic is notorious for over sharpening.)
Hi there, I’m interested in using a short clip from this in a video I am making about my PhD course, would that be ok?
Yeah of course. You can credit me if you like
@@magstauk Thank you! I'd be happy to.

Yeah sure, no problem.
@@magstauk Thank you so much, Michael, I will get back to you once the video is made :)
Nice one, what colour settings did you use on the mavic ?
it was set to d-log and graded in final cut pro x, all settings down to -1
Just out of interest, do you need permission to fly in Durham with it having the prison near to the town center?
No i didn't, my drone took off and it wasn't marked as an NFZ

The title is misleading as views of the Cathedral (one of the most architecturally important in the World) take up only around 50% of the video.
Thank you Paul for your in depth analysis of my video. I really do appreciate it. I will take your feedback on board
@@magstauk Thanks for your reply. I didn't mention that the image quality of your upload is extremely good :-)
