      Thank you for reaching out! We love your website and used it extensively for our 21 day Utah/Colorado Expedition that we are actually on our way back to Kentucky from. It was a huge help.

    I contributed most of the trails you downloaded from TrailsOffroad. Glad to see that information being put to good use. That's why we do it. I use that push to Gaia button all the time. Both the Henry Mountains and the Abajos are magnificent places to travel through. I hope you had a fantastic trip. Utah is an amazing playground. Very informative video!

      Thank you very much! We used your videos a lot for this trip. We are actually still on the road on our way home. The Henry's was one of our favorite places of our whole trip. If not for your videos. We may not have discovered them.

    This is an outstanding video showing some of the great features Gaia has to offer, as well as how to use multiple different route planing websites in conjunction to make route planing easier.

    Great video! Thanks. I'm just beginning to consider overlanding, I off-road on easy, local (KY) trails. I would be interested in more of these logistical type details. Planning fuel stops based on availability, techniques for keeping food fresh and restocking, must have vehicle items, etc...but please, not if it means fewer videos of your adventures, haha!

    Thanks for sharing your planning method. It’s similar to what we do except you use a couple of resources we were not aware of.

    Awesome video! Maybe you could do a part 2 some time, addressing how to plan how many miles to go in a day. Some trails are easier, some harder. how do we figure out how far we can go each day on a trip and does that number change as the # of vehicles in the group changes?
    Thank you very much.

    Just downloaded Gaia (free vers). Tried using out on trail last week to record route but it acted like I had to have a wifi connection to get the maps to work on trail. Does the paid subscription act that way too? Do you need signal? I want to do paid, but not if I need wifi in the wilderness.

    • @CoddiwompleOverland
      @CoddiwompleOverland  3 года назад +1

      If you are going to an area with no cell signal, you will need to download the layers for that area while you have cell signal. Then it works great off grid

    • @MountainRoots
      @MountainRoots 3 года назад +2

      @@CoddiwompleOverland right on! Are you still able to record routes when OFF-GRID like that?

    Great video! Looks like the west is easier to route plan and find information. How would you go about planning items around the east or even sayU.P., Michigan area

    • @CoddiwompleOverland
      @CoddiwompleOverland  3 года назад +1

      East coast is definitely more difficult. I primarily look for clusters of forest service roads on MVUM maps. I will work on putting together a video for route planning the east coast. Thanks for watching

    • @CoddiwompleOverland
      @CoddiwompleOverland  3 года назад +1

    When camping, are they free or do you need some sort of permit or???

    • @CoddiwompleOverland
      @CoddiwompleOverland  3 года назад +2

      It depends on where you are camping. BLM and most national forests have free dispersed camping. You just have to check the area
