Windowed mode helps Unturned significantly because even though the in-game resolution is changed to, say, 1280 x 720, the actual screen will follow the resolution of your monitor, which in my case is 2880 x 1800. Thus, the game is technically still running at 2880 x 1800 while also playing in 1280 x 720. It's quite silly.

Well in smite i have 30fps+ on high settings and in unturned on low settings on current resolution 1366x768 8-10 fps. on 640 on low 60fps asweal on high settings 60fps.. as my resolution goes up my fps drops down. One thing you didnt mention about the water, when its anything below high you cant see through it, so if there is a player underwater, you will not see them, set this to atleast high if your playing pvp
Updating graphics cards may help a lot as well as buying a big cooler for your pc, go to run and type %temp% (temporary files) and delete everything and if it says something like 'File in Use' click 'Do this... and Skip. Right click on your desktop and select your graphics card like Nvidia or Amd or Intel (I don't think it works on Intel) then go to manage 3d settings and program settings. Add a program, select Unturned and finally high performance Nvidia processor and click apply at the bottom right corner of your pc.

Re Zero vsync limits your fps to how much your pc can handle. Turning it off can boost fps BUT since it is surpassing its limits there is a very possible chance your game could crash or randomly stop responding.
VSync limits your fps to your monitor's refresh rate, most commonly 60. If you're on a 144Hz monitor, it limits it to 144 and so on. What it's used for, is to remove the so-called Screen Tearing, which can occur if you don't have VSync on. What it does is, some frames go out of sync, and the image on your monitor get this choppy-like effect, as if you broke a mirror and you see 2 reflection, but they're out of line. (This effect is present for less than a second, so it's not major, but some people can't handle it) So: VSync - off, higher fps, in some games it makes it smoother than 60. VSync - on, no screen tearing, but you can't go out of 60 fps VSync also improves FPS stability, so you don't get micro stutters and sometimes it even fixes lag spikes, but not always

bro I've been struggling for days and when I was searching up unturned stuff I came across you and this helped a lot like you have no idea and I liked a subed a shared to me discord group that plays unturned cause this is helpful thx
heres one thing, with draw distance, i found that on rust, despite having a low end PC, having a higher draw distance (about 3/5ths to 2/3rds of the way to the up) helps because my PC isn't loading things in as frequently, meaning i freeze alot less frequently and also reducing the amount of times i crash by about 100%.
I guess hes lucky with the optimization. Unturned is like gta 4. Like before I got a gaming pc, I used a cloud streaming service to play my games. It uses a very powerful cpu and gpu yet I couldnt even get 50 fps with the max settings. There has got to be a mod that imrpoves the optimization or something.

So this is what VSync is doing, oh... I tough Unturned may have a lot of "things" in it so this is why I would get only 60 FPS no matter if I had the settings on high or ultra. Now, on ultra it's 247/248 FPS and with the priority thing it's 611/613. Wow!!! This video really helped me on inproving my FPS in all games. Thank you!

I tested my laptop to see if it could run all at ultra settings. I did it, and it worked. Unfortunately, the frames are 16-20, but I runs like its 60 frames. Edit: I turned off my high priority (it's in the task manager if you people didn't know) and it still stayed the same as I said in the second sentence. To be honest I watched this video to see if I could make unturned 10 times better than it already is in the frames department. Good Videos and Keep up the great work.

6:44 The reason water quality makes the game run worse is because the way Unturned maps work is that water is at the same level under the map constantly, so water is always loaded. Anyone that has ever fell through the ground of a map knows this. This is a common thing in lower quality games, I guess it's because the game is loading one entire thing instead of a bunch of small areas of water to improve performance, although it's only a guess.

I put it on the lowest display on windowed mode, turned all the settings to low, aniascopic filtering off, trilinnear mapping off, rag dolls, debris, clouds, and turned down the draw distance and I pull around 45 FPS max and 25 least. It’s playable. Edit: in areas with lots of buildings you’ll pull about 20 frames but it works.
MeLikeBigBoom, the Forward mode helps Computers only have to render the front, while the deferred renders side and back at the same time, forward considerably helped my computer go from 10 (awful) to 30 (decent for my computer)

heres one thing, with draw distance, i found that on rust, despite having a low end PC, having a higher draw distance (about 3/5ths to 2/3rds of the way to the up) helps because my PC isn't loading things in as frequently, meaning i freeze alot less frequently and also reducing the amount of times i crash by about 100%.

I guess hes lucky with the optimization. Unturned is like gta 4. Like before I got a gaming pc, I used a cloud streaming service to play my games. It uses a very powerful cpu and gpu yet I couldnt even get 50 fps with the max settings. There has got to be a mod that imrpoves the optimization or something.

Lol when I had my chromebook I did the thing and when i had it it was around 26fps like deadass can play like that just want a cheap portable gaming device so in buying a 200$ HP laptop from Walmart. Ik Ik its not a "gaming" laptop but just the portable aspect I like I like them retro games also so im good with 25fps like just for my alone time gonna hop on with friend have a little rp pvp gonna be hype man dayam and check ma channel but in all honestly if a chromebook which runs OS can play it than honestly a 200$ HP can
if you like retro games, you can play old school runescape, you can play it on a fridge and its fun
So this is what VSync is doing, oh... I tough Unturned may have a lot of "things" in it so this is why I would get only 60 FPS no matter if I had the settings on high or ultra. Now, on ultra it's 247/248 FPS and with the priority thing it's 611/613. Wow!!! This video really helped me on inproving my FPS in all games. Thank you!

I tested my laptop to see if it could run all at ultra settings. I did it, and it worked. Unfortunately, the frames are 16-20, but I runs like its 60 frames.
Edit: I turned off my high priority (it's in the task manager if you people didn't know) and it still stayed the same as I said in the second sentence. To be honest I watched this video to see if I could make unturned 10 times better than it already is in the frames department. Good Videos and Keep up the great work.

6:44 The reason water quality makes the game run worse is because the way Unturned maps work is that water is at the same level under the map constantly, so water is always loaded. Anyone that has ever fell through the ground of a map knows this. This is a common thing in lower quality games, I guess it's because the game is loading one entire thing instead of a bunch of small areas of water to improve performance, although it's only a guess.

I put it on the lowest display on windowed mode, turned all the settings to low, aniascopic filtering off, trilinnear mapping off, rag dolls, debris, clouds, and turned down the draw distance and I pull around 45 FPS max and 25 least. It’s playable.
Edit: in areas with lots of buildings you’ll pull about 20 frames but it works.

MeLikeBigBoom, the Forward mode helps Computers only have to render the front, while the deferred renders side and back at the same time, forward considerably helped my computer go from 10 (awful) to 30 (decent for my computer)
My laptop is not bad (can play other games -rainbow 6/ csgo/ pubg) really smoothly but cant play this game more than 30 fps. I need help
