I’m still pissed as hell about yesterday’s Neris debacle but glad (and shocked) the Cubs tried someone else in a save situation. We will see if Counsell continues to turn to other pitchers in those situations but I’m not going to get my hopes up. Now can we get a freaking series win?

Hey, KAP: You think taking Morel(.199)out of the lineup and letting Busch hit 2nd(2-4 .260)contributed to today’s win? You keep penciling in non-producers like Morel, Amaya, Wisdom, and you will keep seeing the letter L. Steele pitched well enough to keep the team in the game, and the pen didn’t drown in Lake Michigan. Tomorrow we’ll see if they can actually win a series this summer. Just lose Morel for awhile and see how you do. Keep Bote at 3rd.
Nice job by Steele tonite and finally a nice relief job . I do have a gripe though . There's two guys who deserve a chance to prove themselves with the big club and that's Canario and Cassie , they've been wasting time in Iowa while PCA has been wasting time in Chicago , he hasn't hit big league pitching and might need more time in Iowa . The Cubs could really use a couple of fresh bats with some slug in them and maybe these two guys could add that . Morel is another one that might benefit from a trip to AAA for a while , his .195 BA hasn't been much help to the team . Canario could slot in at DH and Cassie could fill in at Tauchmans spot . If they're not going to deal for impact bats they might as well see what these guys can give them because there's nothing else in their system ready for a call up .
