  • Yes, PVC fittings last forever- so save them to use again!
Where I live, they cost between $7.00 and $12.00 each which is nuts. here is a simple method to reuse them and save valuable $$$$$$$

nice idea, i think neddle nose could roll the center peice together once a slot was made with the screw driver.

There is another way to recycle PVC fittings. Being an ex plumber, I use a hacksaw blade and cut the pipe lengthways inside the fitting just enough to not cut the fitting itself. I then use a screwdriver and pry the pipe away from the fitting and work around the pipe prising as I go . Fitting is in a vice. No electricity used. Cheers from 🦘🐨🇭🇲

Excellent! I had always thought the pvc cement basically fused the pipe and fittings together. This will actually save you $$ if you take the time to do it. Thank you!

You could even go further ;o)
If you want to join 2 pieces together, heat one end up and put a small bevel by rounding it out with a driver. Then keeping it hot force the pieces one inside the other!
If you want to do this trick with existing bends and tee's just cut them off with a couple of inches of pipe on them and treat that end as your cold end (goes inside the other pipe) bevel the rough edges from cutting off first though!

I've been putting off buying a heat gun for a long time now but perhaps now's the time! Great idea and I do in fact have a few old pieces lying around that I kept hold of just in case I could one day find a way to reuse them!

Wear safety glasses to avoid slipping a screwdriver into your eyes. Screwdrivers can be unpredictable when used like this. Speaking from experience.
