Huh. I didn't realize there was such hate. She was one of my favorite characters in GT. Pan is if Goku was raised in a city instead of the wilderness. Tough and loving, far more experienced than some country boy. But still the life loving fun protagonist, curious but confrontational. Pan was a mix of goku, chichi, Gohan, and videl. Playful, responsible(as much as she can), emotional, tough. I liked Pan a lot, and I think she's been great.

I'm gonna have to say that Pan being born with the ultimate form is actually not a theory at all, its an undeniable fact, why? Because the rule is that every saiyan is born inheriting the power level and transformations as their parents, Gohan was born stronger than Goku, Goten and Trunks were born with SSJ because of Goku and Vegeta unlocking the forms before their birth, so there is no way that Pan would not be born with Gohan's ultimate form, these powers pass on genetically and this much is proven without any doubt by her feats, being able to knock Rildo flat on the ground is an SSJ3 level feat, no normal base form can make Buu flinch let alone knocking down someone much stronger than Buu twice, why would she be born with a base stronger than SSJ forms if it wasn't ultimate? There's no other reason she would be this strong, its literally the only explanation, and like I said, the inheritence rule makes it a fact, and her feats coincidentally and CONSISTENTLY reinforce this fact, her kncoking down Rildo TWICE wasn't a one off mistake despite the second time being a bit broken, Pan at age 5 beat a 17 year old Goten who didn't look too happy about loosing, she beats one of the sigma force, she completely over powers android 20 with ease, Trunks states that Pan must be stronger than him, Base Pan having feats that scale her up way stronger than SSJ is repeated throughout the show and very intentional, her having ultimate form is the only explanation, but like I said, the inheritence rule already proves it either way.
I honestly don't understand the Saiyan bloodline. Why does watering down the bloodline make them stronger? Pan is 1/4th Saiyan and yet has potential comparable to Gohan. Most DB fans are casual viewers. Catering to their thoughts only leads to another Saiyan transformation. I'm glad many popular manga today are given the time to actually plan out the narrative rather than writing week after week and never having time to look back or reestablish key themes in their minds.

I dropped GT when I saw the stupid way they killed Piccolo, there was no sensible motivation for him let himself die, then they wish the Earth back, making his death even more senseless. I couldn't tolerate writing like that, so I didn't bother watching the rest of the series.
I don't think Pan needed to go Super Saiyan at all, although it would have been great if after Rildo, their was a focus on training Pan. This way we could get an idea on some of Goku's training methods, now that he himself was a master, where the training focuses on building up her base form. This way Pan can rebuild her trust with Goku.
just imagine if broly came back in gt, he would bring back that hype that everybody liked when he is on screen, I wish they could give him a ssj4 form or even let him be the first one to unlock lssj5 and then there would be a next arc for the z squad to overcome.

This is in reference to super saiyan. It's saiying pan had no need for super saiyan, because her role from a narrative perspective was never as a fighter. That's what the video talks about. Especially Videl - the one who resented living in her parents shadow and always wanting to prove herself and be able to protect herself. And that's the thing... if her family REALLY wanted to protect her, they'd train her so she could protect herself. As a kid I liked Pan, mostly for being the girl of the group. I do remember thinking that it was wasted potential that she didn't have a Super Saiyan moment, even thought that arc with Giru's betrayal, I forget the name of it if it's separate from the Black Star Dragon Balls arc or beginning of the Baby arc, would have been perfect. And while a Super Saiyan Pan wouldn't be as much help against most of the stronger enemies, was Super Saiyan Trunks or any of the Super Saiyans really much help against Super 17 and Omega Shenron. But now as I'm older and appreciate the adventure aspect of Dragon Ball a lot more than back then, I like the idea of Pan trying to chase the same adventures that her family had plenty of stories of, especially her grandpa. Also she did help out where she could or at least tried before being in danger again. Overall, never really disliked her but I appreciate her far more.
The concept of the Black Star Arc and the rest of GT wasn't bad. It was the execution. Pan never really bothered me. Always viewed her as a supportive relief.
i would have thought that when baby gohan went after pan she would have triggered super saiyan. despite not needing high levels of super saiyan, pan having that courage that you mentioned. maybe that would of been good for super saiyan even if it wont do much
If the baby fight took place in Super Pan probably would've gotten a unique form so it wouldn't be a waste. Super is exploring unique forms way more. And it wouldn't need to be an asspull, she was part of the super saiyan god ritual when she was still developing, who knows what that does to a baby. She turned Videl super saiyan in the anime after all, that's pretty crazy. It does make you wonder what effects that ritual had on a fetus, it would be cool if in super she had a natural ability to sense god ki. If she's the next generation she has catching up to do and maybe having experienced the god form during development and if she gets trained by Goku with Uub she'll be surrounded by god ki which might end up in her developing a unique form. She's the first saiyan who would experience god ki from childhood, a stage where in a lot of anime gaining unique traits is more possible. Idk, I think it'd be interesting. We already have the universe 6 saiyans but Pan would be more permanent and that'd probably be cool for a female audience to have a female character that can be on par with the male saiyans.

Nah, she was selfish, annoying, bratty and she deprived us of Goten going into space with Trunks and Goku. We could've seen an adult Gotenks in some of the battles in Space.
She got too much unjustified hate. I can't say she was my favorite Saiyan hybrid but it defiantly wasn't hatred, although yes she was annoying as hell at times. I agree with almost everything you said about her, but I don't agree on the main issue- I wanted a SSJ Pan in GT, especially when she needed to save Goku and Trunks from the Sigma Force. Of course she can't beat G. Rild but SSJ Pan here could have delayed/destroy the force enough for Goku and Trunks to re-gain power. G. Rild is special because he legitimately defeated Goku in a fight, a fit that almost no other major villain was able to do.
Now that I'm in my 40's, I've become more patient and critical. I decided to give GT a second chance and although I no longer hate it and consider it part of the DB universe, it's still far from great. I think you described it perfectly: It tries to do Dragon Ball, but it fails to go 100%. It then tries to be DBZ, and again, it just half-asses it. The show had potential, but it fell short. It is what it is. One last try to push more engagement from fans, by using a well loved franchise, during the time when DB was starting to decline in popularity. And watching all the series again, I have to say, ALL of them are far from perfect. Dragon Ball is Toriyama at is full creative potential. DBZ reached its peak during the Frieza arc, hit a huge creative brick wall during the middle of the Cell arc, and went completely downhill in the Buu arc. DBS is a great effort to revive the franchise, and it is great (sometimes), but it is full unnecessary retcons, plot holes, and bad animation. DBGT feels... half-assed at best. But hey, we got SSJ4 from GT. And I want to believe that every DB fan out there can agree it's the most badass thing that has come from the franchise.
GT was bad/poorly implemented but Pan had no nostalgia and as the new person got most of the hate. Every character except for Trunks & Goku were pushed aside with nothing to do. Trunks didn't do much fighting wise yes he was helpful tech wise & as a pilot but not much else
Though i enjoyed her banter and playfulness with trunks, i hated the flirtatious side with him and how she was against goku. But i say she neutral like launch and roshi, not much to love and some stuff to hate.
I love GT i go back and watch it in full at least once a year and have been since I was a kid back in the 00's but man I despise pan to this day. She is annoying she slows down the plot and acts like a spoiled brat. She is a huge reason as to why I can't stand kid character's in shows not children per say because kid Gohan ya he was a kid but he didn't act or come of as a child or young bulma she was kool i would kick it with DB bulma all day. Pan is arguably the best written female character in DB, but people bash on her and use her as a scapegoat for hate simply because they think her English dub voice is annoying, she is a damsel in distress, and she doesn't turn super saiyan not because the plot demands it but because they want to check off their "female super saiyan" fantasy wishlist. This is the one aspect I hate about shonen anime. Because shonen anime caters more towards young children especially young boys, kids are not mentally developed enough to understand character development, romance, storytelling, and etc. All kids care about is action and cool stuff, unless you are punching someone or blowing shit up, kids are not going to care. So, kids who don't know any better end up growing up into these meatheads who only think a character's worth is valued in how strong they are and how much they contribute in fights. This is why people glaze characters like Caulifla and Kale and hate on Pan even though Pan is objectively a better written character than Kale and Caulifla combined and also Kale & Caulifla are way more annoying that Pan. I guarantee ya, If people didn't find Kale & Caulifla attractive and if they didn't have super saiyan forms, people would have crap all over them just like Pan. People seriously need to rewatch GT especially the sub version and pay more attention to the story and characters.

Nah, she was selfish, annoying, bratty and she deprived us of Goten going into space with Trunks and Goku. We could've seen an adult Gotenks in some of the battles in Space.

She got too much unjustified hate. I can't say she was my favorite Saiyan hybrid but it defiantly wasn't hatred, although yes she was annoying as hell at times. I agree with almost everything you said about her, but I don't agree on the main issue- I wanted a SSJ Pan in GT, especially when she needed to save Goku and Trunks from the Sigma Force. Of course she can't beat G. Rild but SSJ Pan here could have delayed/destroy the force enough for Goku and Trunks to re-gain power. G. Rild is special because he legitimately defeated Goku in a fight, a fit that almost no other major villain was able to do.

Now that I'm in my 40's, I've become more patient and critical. I decided to give GT a second chance and although I no longer hate it and consider it part of the DB universe, it's still far from great. I think you described it perfectly: It tries to do Dragon Ball, but it fails to go 100%. It then tries to be DBZ, and again, it just half-asses it. The show had potential, but it fell short. It is what it is. One last try to push more engagement from fans, by using a well loved franchise, during the time when DB was starting to decline in popularity.
And watching all the series again, I have to say, ALL of them are far from perfect. Dragon Ball is Toriyama at is full creative potential. DBZ reached its peak during the Frieza arc, hit a huge creative brick wall during the middle of the Cell arc, and went completely downhill in the Buu arc. DBS is a great effort to revive the franchise, and it is great (sometimes), but it is full unnecessary retcons, plot holes, and bad animation. DBGT feels... half-assed at best.
But hey, we got SSJ4 from GT. And I want to believe that every DB fan out there can agree it's the most badass thing that has come from the franchise.
GT was bad/poorly implemented but Pan had no nostalgia and as the new person got most of the hate. Every character except for Trunks & Goku were pushed aside with nothing to do. Trunks didn't do much fighting wise yes he was helpful tech wise & as a pilot but not much else
people seriously complained about that? people will whine about anything nowadays, Pan has always been awesome, fuck them.
I definitely think pan could have been executed better but that doesn’t mean she was executed bad she was a good character
Though i enjoyed her banter and playfulness with trunks, i hated the flirtatious side with him and how she was against goku. But i say she neutral like launch and roshi, not much to love and some stuff to hate.

Even as an Adult, I don't like Pan's Character. I understand that she's a Kid, but the way she talks with her Grandpa and a Grown Man is wild.
I love GT i go back and watch it in full at least once a year and have been since I was a kid back in the 00's but man I despise pan to this day. She is annoying she slows down the plot and acts like a spoiled brat. She is a huge reason as to why I can't stand kid character's in shows not children per say because kid Gohan ya he was a kid but he didn't act or come of as a child or young bulma she was kool i would kick it with DB bulma all day. I respect that your trying to make a case for pan but even GT fans don't like her for the fact she stole screen time from character's we actually cared about like vegeta,gohan,bulma, adult goten and others.

Pan is arguably the best written female character in DB, but people bash on her and use her as a scapegoat for hate simply because they think her English dub voice is annoying, she is a damsel in distress, and she doesn't turn super saiyan not because the plot demands it but because they want to check off their "female super saiyan" fantasy wishlist. This is the one aspect I hate about shonen anime. Because shonen anime caters more towards young children especially young boys, kids are not mentally developed enough to understand character development, romance, storytelling, and etc. All kids care about is action and cool stuff, unless you are punching someone or blowing shit up, kids are not going to care. So, kids who don't know any better end up growing up into these meatheads who only think a character's worth is valued in how strong they are and how much they contribute in fights. This is why people glaze characters like Caulifla and Kale and hate on Pan even though Pan is objectively a better written character than Kale and Caulifla combined and also Kale & Caulifla are way more annoying that Pan. I guarantee ya, If people didn't find Kale & Caulifla attractive and if they didn't have super saiyan forms, people would have crap all over them just like Pan. People seriously need to rewatch GT especially the sub version and pay more attention to the story and characters.
Whats sad is, GT would fit perfectly in todays modern feminism girl boss themed advertising.
