This time my adventure takes me to Marsascala, Munxar cliffs. From top of the cliffs I was always fascinated by what lies beneath the sea ! From up here one can see grooves into the rock that look like cart ruts. So this time with fins and mask, I decided to explore this area. Beautiful area to swim but one have to know from where to go down these cliffs or use a boat or kayak. After looking into these grooves up, I don't think these are cart ruts but hopefully someone with more knowledge can have a better opinion ! Maybe either @MegalithHunter or @pauliecook432 can shed more light on these ! From here I also visit Munxar window and a pill box close by.
Hope you enjoy

Thanks Pierre for another cool adventure in the southern part and so interesting too. Going down to the sea from the top was a bit hard to tackle but you made it safely, well done. Those little beaches seems so good to explore and enjoy when having a small boat or kayak. Regarding the "Cart Ruts"😒 if one inspect more geologically that's side of the cliff (as you have also mentioned) it has a lot of seismic faults (cracks). Through the millennia the part of land above the sea has been eroded and therefore leaving those cracks visible also on the sea floor. This also shows how much the land was more out at the sea, and looks like Cart Ruts because due to the sea erosion the bedrock faults were widened. It's my humble opinion and correct me if I am wrong. Well, thanks again for the good quality vlog and sharing too, well done.👍👍
Thanks Ben, yes your theory makes a lot of sens .
Stunning landscape, water. I want to experience first hand!

EXCELLENT VLOG Pierre 🏆👏.
Beautiful part of Malta 🌊☀.
Those "ruts/grooves" are so straight & parallel?? - another mystery of "Nature" I suppose.🤔 . GLAD you made it safely 🙏 .
THANKS Pierre🚶🏊 🎥 👏.
Cheers 👍 🇲🇹 ♥ 🇪🇺 ™
Thanks John , 99% nature
I walked from Zabbar to Marsaskala and back twice a day. Beautiful walk back then without the newer housing. I loved swimming around there and St Peter’s Pool. No hoot though 🐟
I am from Zabbar so did that walk many times, maybe with more buildings ☺️
@@PierreFarrugia Fortunately you are too young to know my dad who left Zabbar in 1951 but the family hardware store only just shut down. Barbara family photography you would know too. Great museum, my dad was the bell ringer and alter boy, my grandfather even repaired the Church dome. Grazzi Zabbarin.
Fabulous video Pierre. Such beautiful clear waters and chalky white cliffs. A brave climb down too. Thank you.
Thank you Charles

You should!
A question I always ask myself whenever I pass from there! Great video
☺️
Its a very big question or curiosity about those cart ruts.i dont think they formed by the sea.
I had the same question, that’s why I did this vlog but now I M 99% sure they are natural, because the lines in the sea cont. as cracks with the cliff face and normally curt ruts are at sea level .
Pierre, I agree it is beautiful but it was very dangerous to climb down some 35 years ago let alone today. The heat and rain have led to further erosion so I recommend that the area to go through is removed if we want to avoid people risking their lives. Especially those with lack of climbing experience and those who do not have climbing equipment. Some 35/40 years ago we used to swim there with my father.
Keep up the good work, like watching your videos as I had to give up exploring.
Thank you Claire
