    I watched the whole video waiting for you to look for the 9 Volt battery compartment. 9 times out of 10 it is a real
    old dead battery inside that spewed whitish stuff all over the battery connector. More cleaning .

      Sorry about leaving that part of the story off of the video. I actually tried several times to get the access panel of the battery compartment off to see if there was an old battery inside. It wouldn't budge and you know how fragile old plastic can be so I didn't want to force it. The owner assured me that he had never installed a back up battery. In fact he didn't even know that his radio had that feature.
