Now we can CLEARLY see the problem isn’t ILLITs vocals but the higher pitched songs that were given!!! They’re deeper vocals are so stable and beautiful
it’s actually not higher pitched songs, but rather mid range songs in general can be a problem with many singers because they have to switch from their chest and head voice… usually it is quite difficult while doing nothing but of course HYBE also has the most difficult choreography possible on top of this already difficult range. You can tell Wonhee/Iroha/Moka are sopranos so their “mix” between their lower and higher registers happens exactly where the notes are for Magnetic so they are truly at their weakest there… which is why i think yunah and minju sounded much more stable and recieved much more praise because they can use their lower register to keep it stable in that note range, while the others are using the lower part of their higher register (usually an incredibly weak point for singers because of the lack of breath support those notes provide)

Moka’s problems in magnetic is that the notes were too low thus she wasn’t stable, and also the fact they made her sing cutely

Saying they can’t sing because they haven’t learned or practiced enough to sing a song like their debut songs is ridiculous. This proves they absolutely can sing. A literally 2-3 month old group and yall want them to sound like they have been in the business 10+ years? Like give them room to breath and improve and show what they could do and can do. They sound great here. And we can only hope hybe and belift drops the concept they debuted them with and give them something more mature, as well as in their range. Too many don’t wanna give anyone time to improve and it’s annoying as hell. And JYP is killing me in this video but I love this song by him and Sumni! Absolutely love it. And I now love it illit and JYP!
well tbh if they couldn't sing (which clearly isn't their problem it's the wrong vocal range choice) they obviously shouldn't have debuted, they could have spent a couple more years as trainees to develop decent vocal skills to sing on stage because..... that's what training period is meant for and as Idols they literally need to know how to sin. So yeah we shouldn't tolerate idols for a few years till they learn how to sing, but we should appreciate trainees working hard to debut.
