Thanks Simo! Would love to see you do a video on how you target on the lane with your eyes and what you look, when, and where. Do you move your eyes as you walk?
I sucked at 1 hand bowling, watched you go through PBA and started emulating you as a 2 hand bowler. I am averaging 160ish and climbing slowly. I like to spin my ball in reverse because its fun and I can strike as easy as normal! thanks for being my teacher and thanks for the videos!
Hey, Anthony. I am a big fan. I grew up in east Dallas, 1 mile from Eastfield Jr College in the 1970s. My parents bowled league at Jupiter Bowling Lanes when I was very young. I went nuts watching your documentary that is now on RUclips how you grew up on the other side of Eastfield in Mesquite. I just retired at 65 and am now bowling in league at Rowlett Bowlarama with Joyce Powers. She's told me some stories about you. I am very excited that you started this channel. Keep it going. You are the best bowler on the planet.
Once again gold from this young, talented and very smart man. Keep it coming. Would love to hear some advice for low rev/low speed seniors and how we should be attacking house shots. Where on the lane should we play and what types of ball should we be using, etc.
I would love to know how often you are changing where you look depending on the moves you make. As well as what spot on the lanes do you look in general? Is it the board at the arrows, the breakpoint or somewhere inbetween? Loving the channel so far!!!
Thx for the video. How about hand/finger placement on the ball, How much you manipulate axis tilt, affects from different layouts, more info based around the equipment next go round.
I'm a one-handed right handed bowler, but I actually throw a backup spare ball on most of my spares. I was actually learning to flatten my hand for the 10 pin, but it kept backing up based on how I released it, so I stopped fighting it. Now my right side spares are much easier.
hi simo! big fan! i'm having a hard time converting from a 1 handed no thumb bowler to a 2handed bowler, so i have a few questions. 😅 how do you increase your speed as a 2hander and how do you hold your ball with both hands? do you feel equal weight for both hands or is it a transfer of weight from one hand to the other? i feel like my backswing is lower and my ball speed is also slower 2handed compared to 1 handed. also, welcome to youtube! thanks for the great videos so far :D
Great videos.. would love to keep hearing more about lane play, and how to attack the lanes as they transition during leagues.. what strategies do you use and when. Game 1 always starts ok, game 2 can go sideways, and finally get back on track mid to late game 3.. figuring out what the lanes are doing in transition, and when to move left vs back right is a challenge!
That's funny, I do something similar to Simo on broken down patterns. Rather than move outside I just go inside and throw a super super tight line to the pocket. Pick up my ball speed, don't worry about revs, and just let the ball move a board or two to rocket into the pocket
Another great video. I was wondering if you could explain ball choices for certain league/tournament bowlers. What tips would you suggest in terms of a ball choice for a bowler that throws it say 12 mph with a lower rev rate? When and why to choose asym versus sym type ball? Thanks for your insights. I am diggin your channel Simo!
I have been bowling for 5 years now. My friends told me I should try to hook it. Thought myself to throw a hook, but after the 1st night of league I was told I couldn't throw right and left handed. I started doing the back up ball 5yrs ago to pick up anything on the right side. After learning to hook it. My hand and brain didn't want to bowl strait. It has come in clutch and I'm glad I learned it.
Great video! To answer your question, I'd love to see more about confidence and generally the mental part of the game. How do you keep all these different tools in check mentally? Sometimes I struggle with swapping from hooking the ball to sending it straight at spares. I can't imagine how hard it would be for me to add something like a backup ball into the toolbox and keep my other shots on point. Thanks for sharing your expertise!
Can you please do a video or explain in one of your videos what you do to control your rotation and tilt? What's your average ball speed you bowl with with your not trying to control or change it?
i learned the two handed back up ball aswell but im not that accurate throwing the first shot.. i mainly use it for the tenpin and baby split.. works very well.
AS someone who just recently started bowling it is amazing to see the pros break down things about the game. I have trouble with knowing when to ball up or ball down so that would be cool to learn about. I think I get a bit nervous about ball changes after good games. (keep in mind i only average about 170) Spare systems would be nice to see from you too
Trying to change over to two handed due to hand issues ( I`m 70 ) Having trouble with speed. When I stay slow I nail my target and when I try to get ball speed higher I almost always pull it. Hope you can cover that down the road. Thanks for the vids and I think you`re doing great.
How did you learn to throw a back up ball without hurting your finger? Seems like every time i do it, my finger hurts afterwards. Is it just practice makes perfect and keep repping it? Keep up the awesome videos, sir. Appreciate it!
great video, would definitely love to learn some things about pinsetters and why certain things happen e.g. why balls get stuck, why pins fall from the sky etc.
This is super helpful stuff, thanks! Only one selfish request: could you occasionally flip the view to left hand side? I’m very used to translating over now, but it still takes effort, and at 52 I don’t learn as quickly as I used to. I need all the help I can get! Great stuff. Looking forward to what you’ve got coming up.
Simo, what’s your go to layout on the Phaze 2? Also a two hander And any tips on the backup ball? I have trouble getting my fingers out of it and it feels like they are bending the wrong way
How do you throw it faster through the friction. What exactly do you try to do? A video on that would be awesome. There isn't a lot of lane play videos especially ones that help with playing straighter and keeping ball speed up.
A challenge/advice video on 1 handed no thumb bowling. Basically Tom Dougherty style. This is the way I bowl and there is no much of guidance or content on this style
I, too, am a one hand no thumb bowler. I took my thumb out about 7 or 8 months ago and instantly added 30 pins to my average. Like you said, though, there isn't much content out there for this style. Tom Daugherty is my favorite bowler for obvious reasons, but since he doesn't have his own channel, I watch everybody else and try to translate. Not always successfully. LoL Simon is, by far, the best on the planet picking up from Belmo. Thanks for the content.
I would like to see the actual speed that it shows on the screen so we can know in mph actually how much you sped up or slowed down the ball! Great vids new subscriber!
What ratio you move your target when you move your feet? 2 left with the feet and one with the eyes? what direction; both left or right? and how far down the lane is your target?
Biggest things I've struggled with in the 2 handed game is this: launch angle control, what I need to think about to get the ball to hit the target, and how to fine tune rotation. I'm really good at dead crushing it up the back and getting way on the side of it. But anywhere in between? It's super challenging. Anything in between those two, it doesn't feel different when I release it so I need to find a way to get something to feel when I do it.
near the end of the video wear you were doing the hooking to left side of the i always do that when im hooking since its more natural for my hand but some when i hook to the the same it doesn't usually go to plan
Shouts out to Jordan Hornes of the D. Wish I had taken a pic when I saw you practicing at Thunderbowl all those years ago with Jordan watching and coaching.
I would like to learn how mess up the lanes during practice, and not have guys clock ya with a tire iron!!! Do you offer them money, free beer, free Storm sponsorships? How?? Thanks
Two videos in the bank, and he's already the best bowling YT channel on personality and insight alone! Keep em coming
Simo having a RUclips channel is one of the best things that have ever happened on this platform
Holy Moly, he speaks in laymens terms. I understood everything! Great job Ant!
Thanks Simo! Would love to see you do a video on how you target on the lane with your eyes and what you look, when, and where. Do you move your eyes as you walk?
Loved all of this, thank you for continuing to share Simo!
these videos are so fire man. the way you explain bowling is unmatched
Great content! “You don’t have to use two hands to subscribe; only one will work” That got me 😂 Subscribed!
This is amazing advice, one or two handed.
Tips for next video, how do you hit your spot on the lane so consistently and where do you look?
I sucked at 1 hand bowling, watched you go through PBA and started emulating you as a 2 hand bowler. I am averaging 160ish and climbing slowly. I like to spin my ball in reverse because its fun and I can strike as easy as normal! thanks for being my teacher and thanks for the videos!

small world, this is also where I go to bowl haha.
Once again gold from this young, talented and very smart man. Keep it coming.

One of the top guys on tour 👏🏾🐐

Hey Simo am a one handed no thumb bowler and am interested on seeing how you throw a one handed no thumb shot
your insight on foot adjusting is very informative in comparison to other videos
Thx for the video. How about hand/finger placement on the ball, How much you manipulate axis tilt, affects from different layouts, more info based around the equipment next go round.

Thanks Simmo! Keep the great informational videos coming. Thanks
I'd love to see some info on your fit, preferred layouts, preferred surfaces for easier patterns, and how you slot your geenralist arsenal.
Great videos.. would love to keep hearing more about lane play, and how to attack the lanes as they transition during leagues.. what strategies do you use and when. Game 1 always starts ok, game 2 can go sideways, and finally get back on track mid to late game 3.. figuring out what the lanes are doing in transition, and when to move left vs back right is a challenge!
perfect explanations.. understand very very easily
Do you use the same layout and inserts for the back-up ball?
Great Video! More pls!!!
Finally Simo on RUclips!!! He's a wealth of knowledge
I have been bowling back every since I started bowling. Glad to see someone playing at a high level , validate it as a useful tool in your arsenal.
I'm a 2 hander and would like to hear your thoughts on building consistent accuracy. Where do you fix you eyes at release?
Some great insights! Thanks for sharing.
That's funny, I do something similar to Simo on broken down patterns. Rather than move outside I just go inside and throw a super super tight line to the pocket. Pick up my ball speed, don't worry about revs, and just let the ball move a board or two to rocket into the pocket
Great Video! Question---do you drill the backup ball differently than the one you do not backup??
Great info. I am struggling on a new, more difficult league pattern this year. I will definitely try to utilize these tips.
Great tips glad Darren recommended the channel!
Another great video. I was wondering if you could explain ball choices for certain league/tournament bowlers. Can you please do a video or explain in one of your videos what you do to control your rotation and tilt? What's your average ball speed you bowl with with your not trying to control or change it?
Simo is a freakin’ scientist on the lanes.
Hi Simo,
Do you possibly do lessons? I live in SoCal and can make it out to Vegas. Would love to get your insight in person. Thank you!
I had no idea Simo is such a smart and articulate guy.
i learned the two handed back up ball aswell but im not that accurate throwing the first shot.. i mainly use it for the tenpin and baby split..
works very well.

With the backup ball, do you have different layouts? Or just the same ball. I'm curious how it works, especially with asymmetricals.
Trying to change over to two handed due to hand issues ( I`m 70 ) Having trouble with speed. When I stay slow I nail my target and when I try to get ball speed higher I almost always pull it. Hope you can cover that down the road. Thanks for the vids and I think you`re doing great.
Hah, comedy near 8:00 about subscribing. Who would have guessed? Thanks for the video.
When moving left does your target change on the arrows along with the ball speed?
How did you learn to throw a back up ball without hurting your finger? Seems like every time i do it, my finger hurts afterwards. Is it just practice makes perfect and keep repping it? Keep up the awesome videos, sir. Appreciate it!

Where do you start off when you back up ball? I want to know where your feet start of your first back up shot
I would like to see the actual speed that it shows on the screen so we can know in mph actually how much you sped up or slowed down the ball! Great vids new subscriber!
I've watched you bowl on TV for years. I'm thrilled you started a RUclips channel.
that backup ring finger tip is pure gold, the video is platinum though.
What ratio you move your target when you move your feet? 2 left with the feet and one with the eyes? what direction; both left or right? and how far down the lane is your target?
When he throws a backup ball I wonder about the drilling affecting the ball roll. Another thing is you can't slide unless you use left handed shoes.
So do you need a different drilling for a backup ball in case of an asym ball?
My goat
When you moved your feet in this video, did you also move your eyes (target)? When do you move feet or eyes only, and when should you move both?
I use the backup ball for my 10pin sometimes.
Biggest things I've struggled with in the 2 handed game is this: launch angle control, what I need to think about to get the ball to hit the target, and how to fine tune rotation. how do you decide between making a ball change or changing speeds/moving?
Great info, thanks! Keep it up
Great video. Would like to see the backup ball but in slow motion. I’ve been practicing it, but I can’t seem to get it right.
Can you do a tip going over swing path please
Super glad I found your channel!
near the end of the video wear you were doing the hooking to left side of the i always do that when im hooking since its more natural for my hand but some when i hook to the the same it doesn't usually go to plan
Great video, great tips for all !
Definitely would want to see you explain your method of the "conveyor belt" to help release
I broke all my fingers clicking on this video
i would love to see a video going more in depth on the back up ball technique to get better at it
best bowling video ever
what are your finger pitches and how deep do you dig your fingers?
Gotta love waking up to this goat
Have you ever drilled a ball to specifically to be a left side of the lane ball?
Simo used a backup ball during the step latter finals in a tournament this past season and competed. Epic!
Simo when you hit 10k can i get the bowling ball I've had the same one for years
Shouts out to Jordan Hornes of the D. Wish I had taken a pic when I saw you practicing at Thunderbowl all those years ago with Jordan watching and coaching.
Almost 10k subs!!! Wooohooooooo. Awesome!!
dumb question but are you moving your eyes when you move your feet?
One of my favorite bowlers. HOF!
Best advice out there
How to adjust axis rotation when reading the lane?
Brad and Kyle need to pony up the “Merch” to Simo. 😂
Thanks Simo!
Thank you Mr GOAT
Thanks to @DarrenTang for bringing me here!
i would like to see how you "miss it" at the bottom and take rev's off of it when needed :)
Find out where the friction is????? He bowls a sanded ball in practice to MAKE the friction.
great video!
biggest fan right here
Differently
Lets go Simo!!
Dang I just learned a lot
I would like to learn how mess up the lanes during practice, and not have guys clock ya with a tire iron!!! Do you offer them money, free beer, free Storm sponsorships? How?? Thanks
