Responsible gun owners do not flaunt their weapons like they are decorations, toys, props, or fashion accessories. They never let children use guns in casual environments, or in a casual way. A responsible gun owner wouldn't boast about their home arsenal. Respectable firearm owners would never take holiday family photos with their children holding assault weapons. We have the luxury of living in a "free" country. But, just because you're free to do something... doesn't mean it's right, or respectable.

But, not with this mean-spirited woman. The way to annoy her is to broadcast all the surgeries she had done. So, start spreading the news.

She's so anti-education that, in her 30s, just before she ran for her Colorado seat, she finally got her GED. Being a high school graduate or the equivalent is required for office. I couldn't care less about who's graduated, until that person wants to write laws; then, I have a problem with it. While being a lawyer isn't required, having a solid understanding of the US government, Constitution & American history should be mandatory for anyone who wants to get elected.

In all fairness a person could study and learn that on their own. But I highly doubt she did. Most schools don't teach enough about it that further education wouldn't be required if you took a serious government position.

Because the Constitution only stipulates age and residency for requirements for Congress, and Massive Money controls our political system. Boebert isn't smart enough to figure all this stuff out on her own (the insults are probably hers; even at 34, she sounds like my high school students), so the bigger question is - who feeds her her lines?
Explain to me why we have campaign laws if even when they break them nothing happens? Seems to me if your only punishment is nothing at all than you can't expect them to obey the laws.

As a European I can't imagine why anyone would ever want a gun let alone a military grade arsenal fit for a mercenary. And if you think you need it to feel safe in your own country, that is a terrible place to be.

Hello. I have lived here in Colorado for 28 years, same town as Lauren, and believe me no body runs around with guns like she does. She is so full of it. No One displays their guns. They are locked up and hidden away from prying eyes, only to be taken out during hunting season. Don't let her fool you.

As an American with absolutely no guns (and there are quite a few people like me), I think Boebert and her ilk are crazy and dangerous. The point her fellow Colorado resident is making is that many others use their guns for hunting only and handle and store them responsibly.
Because if you put a big enough gun in someone's face you can just take what you want. You know, how europe gained its power.
The fact she was totally ware of the presence of her constituents "right outside" the chambers proves to me that she was in on their attack on the Capital. She should be charged with Sedition and imprisoned for 20 years. This was no joke.

I'm from Rifle, and in our defense she isn't well liked there and didn't win the vote in her home town or county which are traditionally pretty conservative. Maybe it's because of that time when she gave everyone food poisoning at the county fair.

Felicia Moniq I don’t doubt you, but do you have any data on your claim re: more school shootings this year than ever? I know some schools are still at least partially remote, so I thought that should bring it down. That said, I heard through some report on NPR that children coming back from being away, lack a lot of emotional coping mechanisms, so that would increase it in certain circumstances.
Not to mention that Colorado has had several school shootings:
1.) Deer Creek Middle School in Littleton in April of 1982.
2.) Columbine High School in Littleton in April of 1999.
3.) Platte Canyon High School in Bailey in September of 2006.
4.) Cherry Creek High School in Greenwich Village in September of 2007.
5.) Deer Creek Middle School in Littleton in February of 2010.
6.) Aurora Central High School in Aurora in December of 2010.
7.) Arapahoe High School in Centennial in 2013.
8.) STEM School in Highlands Ranch in 2019.
Just a friendly reminder that Lauren is only the representative for the western portion of the state. Most of Colorado's population does not share her values. The Denver metro has experienced a tragic number of school shootings, dating back to Columbine. Those folks have very different feelings. Edit: I went and got some numbers. Four out of seven congressional districts have democratic congressmen, and the other two Republican districts aren't on Boebert's level. Media attention makes her look bigger than she is. Please don't shame the entire state for one representative.

She would applaud their actions like she supports the insurrectionists and say her kids were the real victims.

As someone from Colorado, I am so embarrassed that she "represents" our state in Congress. Unfortunately I don't live in her district, so I had to see all her ads on TV but couldn't vote against her in the election. She does NOT speak for all of Colorado's citizens, only herself.

@@MrBreeze66 "The government" is not some kind of human independent entity; in other words, it is made up entirely of humans. These humans are also citizens. Government worker is what they do, not who they are.
Many of them own guns; however, just like me many of them _choose_ not to because "the right to bear arms" isn't a _mandate_ to do so. We can opt out of keeping a tool that can only do harm with us.
In my case I opt out - despite having every legal right to own - because I am not insecure, I do not live in constant but most importantly I hit the streets and engage whatever city and community I'm living in, using no social media, watching zero news, whatever the source
This helped me realize some things:
a) you are all - your basic Dem/Liberal | Rep/Cons voter - being manipulated to dislike each other by BOTH of these entities using identity politics to exploit and agitate existing biases, keeping you focused on each other rather than those who own the means of these distractions - the wealthy - using them to keep political puppets in office (those willing to tow the line) to keep what is in modern times the sole purpose of the Fed government: to protect and advance the interests of the uber wealthy
b) whatever is popular/trending/etc on internet based _socializing_ sites is rarely representative of what people think or care about who do not live their lives on a screen

Why do so many Americans have this obsession with guns and the right to carry them around everywhere?
And why they refuse to make the connection between all those guns and school shootings is beyond me...

Seriously, resorting to guns to deal with violent conflict is kind of a cowardly way to deal with this. I mean, seriously, you can't rely on your own strength, you are too afraid to go into hand to hand combat, you are afraid of your attacker overpowering you? I don't get why conservatives view guns as this sign of strength. To me, it seems more like a sign of cowardice and weakness. Like, what are you so afraid of that you need a gun? Are you too weak to stand your own without one? Everybody can be threatening with a gun.

Well, Trevor Noah was largely kept inside for much of his life due to him being biracial and growing up in South Africa during Apartheid. His dad is white and from Switzerland whereas his mom is black and from South Africa. I would recommend that you read Trevor's autobiography "Born A Crime" to get a better understanding of what life was like for Trevor growing up under the oppressive conditions of Apartheid. It's equal parts funny and bittersweet and listening to the audio book edition of the book is bound to make you laugh at some parts and cry at others.

A lot of people (likely the majority) also support the second amendment, but within reason. Just like there are restrictions on pretty much every other amendment, we can be sensible about firearms as well. I'm a progressive and I grew up shooting, I've taught my sons proper gun safety, I own a gun (just one and I seldom use it), and I was licensed to carry in NY before moving to TX. I'm not anti-gun, but if you own or operate one, you need to be responsible. It's this blatant disregard for responsibility that gets people worked up, then the gun nuts go ape in response, and most people in the middle are left out of the conversation.

Actually, my favorites are the 9th, which holds there are rights the People have which weren't enumerated in the Constitution (meaning the founders understood that times and society changes and wanted the document to keep up), and the 14th, which holds that laws apply equally to everyone.

Another thing Lauren Boebert is guilty of is serving expired pulled pork at a county fair and having her restaurant slapped with multiple health code violations. Lauren will probably claim that the people who were poisoned by the expired pulled pork are lying to ruin her reputation out of spite and claim that the health code violations filed against her restaurant are that the Colorado Department of Health is out to get her.
I'm never eating at The Shooter's Grill, either. I mean, even if I knew _nothing_ about the owner, I'm not eating at a restaurant where the employees demonstrate their fondness for the Second Amendment by walking around _wearing guns,_ instead of displaying a number of _hunting_ trophies.

It works in nearly all major cities in the U.S. For example the city councils - council members AND mayors - in both L.A. and Houston are non partisan and it works just fine.
