I'm waiting for omnibus 4 but a great look at a book with a finish that had a few link issues by romita snr. I was young at the time when I read these in 1974 but still noticed the shift change but did not think they were that bad. More was to come from buschema but again I loved that pretty long run. They always mention transitions of spidey between ditco and romita and the ff was no different only in hindsite I was glad it was just a few months as I would have hated another major backlash for a great artist as romita. I think it's even mentioned he was relieved to be off the book based on his respect for kirby. Romita comments he learned so much from kirby that to replace a spearhead like that must be daunting. Thanks omar I look forward to omni 4 even more now :-) excelsior

I have all the FF Masterworks TPBs, but those stopped at #10 at the same point where this Epic ends, so I'm waiting on the next Epics after this one -- they can't come soon enough.

And with this epic the whole Lee- Kirby run is collected. I hope they continue with next volume as the masterworks 11 and 12 are impossible to get.
Finally caught up with the softwork Masterworks and it only took 6 years. The Epics are ignoring a lot of the 70's. We need more older stuff in Epics.

They are addictive my friend.
Pre-ordered, looking forward to it though read the stories in Masterworks and original. Not going for the omnis for the FF, just keeping with the epics. Some brilliant stories in there (the Mobster one) and so really average forgettable tales. Wonderful selection of bonus items in this one though and material from FF Annual 7 ! (Surprised they didn't say that on the back)

Hi Omar, I just got the waid and Wieringo omni, and vol 1 of the Stan lee omni’s. haven’t read FF before, but watching your videos helped me decide to read them, thank you. I’ll get this epic too, as you said it goes past the 3rd vol omni. Getting byrnes vol 1 omni next.

Wish it was included the short story that was published in one of the aniversary Isssues in John Byrne’s run. Pirates
That story was not truly a Lee Kirby story. They took work that Kirby did for the FF cartoon, and Lee scripted the work Kirby did for it.

I won't be picking this up as I'll be going with the Vol 4 omni.
after this volume i'll see if i can exercise some self control. i collected this run in epics so i can have the "flagship" marvel title and now that the lee-kirby run is over i think that's a good stopping point. i also have the waid omnibus and i'm hoping for reprints of byrne volume 2 and the hickman omni's eventually and i'll be happy with my ff
