Liverpool hugely underrated final album. It has a shedload more depth and gravitas. Sad to see Holly unhappy. He was thinking of the next big thing, leaving the band and going for his solo career doing more dance based music... Frankie was an extraordinairy act to follow really! 2 superb albums and talented band members.
Hugely underrated how, It was a hit album in many countries and got mixed reviews from critics. In the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die musical reference book! etc..... Very confused by your comment!
I think the Liverpool album is actually overrated, there are a lot of rock albums like that, there's nothing special about it. I think the whole album is a bit boring and the title is very unimaginative. I only really like Warriors of the wasteland and Watching the wild life. I don't know how the guys thought the fans would put up with this huge change of style. As for Holly, no wonder he was so sad, he got nothing but hate and contempt from the band for those few years, even though he seemed to have done his best. I'm trying to figure out why they thought they're better than him.
A third FGTH studio album would've been fantastic. We were lucky to get a second album though, when you look at the history. I like Holly, but his solo music is shite compared to FGTH.
After reading Holly’s autobiography seeing clips like this reinforces the sad story of FGTH. They look and sound so defeated and burned out by their “success.”
Yeah, most people compare our accent to Harry bastard Enfield's mock-accent and that's just not what we actually sound like. It honestly depends on whereabouts in the city you're from. Nasher has quite a strong accent, but that's about as strong as a real scouse accent gets.
Warriors was always a fave of mine, buying singles on 7" & 12" & album on cassette to listen in car aged 17 test freshly passed, keep enjoyin'! 2024 & beyond✌🙏😎

Relax, first heard omg are they really saying that? Wonderful, early 80's if not mistaken. Classic👏👏Holly: Colour of my tea set😂
I had the audio of this interview on a limited edition picture disc. Not sure where it is now but good to now how visuals for it

Looks like Neil Tennant
Funny that as a kid. I saw FGTH "Relax" for the first time and I think it's Pet Shop Boys (Holly and Neil looks very similar in some point)
His accent is very soft and gentle compared to the Scouse accent today

Peter Gill
@16:36 Modern talkin' = middle of the road trash. ... well, Mister Johnson knew how to choose his words, didn't he? 🤣
Frankie say no more
Nice to see a good clip of warriors of the wasteland. Think it might be Holly's masterpiece lyric wise.

😁
Chaaalm down..
Why is it that I can easily understand what Holly is saying, but I can barely understand what the other band members are saying.
0:04 Frank Lammers?😅
Who's this bloke?
The lad in charge of the lorry?
Frankie goes to Burger King, more like it.
