I really miss this trio.. I really hope someone can cast them again and star in a new drama together, I love to see Rin and San again. This drama was one of my fave kdrama although, I was disappointed a bit bcause the writer and the director of the drama doesn't include more romantic scene for RinSan.
Fangirl Mitsuha RinSan really had lots of romantic moments which is more intense however at the end it was not further elaborated the author just left the viewers to imagine things😂

let me tell you one thing- this drama is like nothing you have watched so far! (at least for me^^) when it started airing in july, i watched the first episode, but it i found some moments to be so cheesy that I decided not to watch it. BUT last week I watched a fmv and it looked so beautiful, so I started watching it again. and MY GOD, I am obsessed!! I'm speechless! Everything in this drama is so wonderful, not only the cinematography and the music, the story is so captivting, I love Goryeo period more than Joseon, their clothes are like from some fairytail..and San loves not the prince but his friend!I mean, it is always the first lead who gets the girl, and i'm so happy this drama differs and completely shook my heart! I don't know how to say it, but I think it is very poetical and artful, many scenes and conversations brought me to tears, because it is just too perfect. I love stories which depict such friendship and loyalty. like in Chicago Typewriter, the two boys here also share a relationship that is so rare in this world, so deep.. i can talk all day about their ralationship, so I better stop here :D But really I wanted to put so many more scenes in this video , because everything they say and every single look between them is so meaningful and empotional.. please, watch it :)

The Chinese movie that this drama reminds me of is 2006 Curse of the Golden Flower, everything that makes this drama good you find also in Curse of the Golden Flower. As far as another Korean drama, it reminds me of Moon Embracing the Sun.
A little side note on this drama... you should note that the Princess (the Crown Prince's mother/Jang Young Nam) and San (Yoona) have some acting experience together. As it turns out in Yoona's big screen debut, Confidential Assignment (Cooperation), Jang Young Nam portrayed Yoona's older sister.
I didn't know that.. Jang Young Nam is an amazing actress, her acting is so powerful, she steals every scene she is in ....It was a pleasure watching her both in The king loves and in Weightlifting fairy, where I also really liked her character.

You should note that Rin is really a loyal person, to the King, to San and to the Crown Prince. The king bad him to save San and also to save himself. As you seen he really could not fight the Crown Prince.... I beleive Rin will survive, but the real question is who would really get the girl!!!

I shipped them even before starting to watch it, because I love HJH eversince I saw him in White Christmas and in Moon lovers. even though it was obvious throughout the whole drama that she loved Rin, I still was afraid that in the last episode she will miraculously fall in love with Won! :D

thanks^^ I've read this interview too! but how could she have showed better expression if she knew, when she showed us absolute clearly who she loves!!! :D I mean, she played her role perfectly. to me, it was the most obvious thing, from the way she looked at Rin, the way she talked to him, that her feelings for him are different from those towards Won. Though I was afraid that at the end she may realize that she loves Won more, they did great job in showing us her feelings- she loves Rin as a man and Won- as a friend. maybe it's a good thing Yoona herself didn't know, because it's more real that way, we as viwers as well as her didn't know until the very end whom she'd be with. :)
KDrama usually winning the 1st lead actor/actress in terms of love triangles/competition... only in this drama, I ever watched something totally different.. and due to the drama maker probably had predicted there would be hard cons to this plot twist, they made the love entwined between the 2nd lead actor with the 1st lead actress in such a light, vague love. They can't interact passionately and freely, especially the kiss! I like the plot twist, as I like HJH a lot (and Yoona since long time ago), i even become his fan since then.. but quite disappointed with the plot where the two real birds could just love each other in shadows ... thus plain.. 😭😭😭.. but overall I like the drama a lot, and the King itself, his role is charming likewise Im Si Wan who played it.. 🤗
Dude, this drama made me realized how people can be so stupid to some extent they'd do so many things just for that someone whom they don't even deserve. And what saddens me the most is that, they are doing it because they want that person to be happy. Fuck love, loving is to be hurt. I was RinSan all the way, but I am heartbroken for Won..he didn't deserve to be left alone, it was so sad, to lose his best friend and the woman he loved.

Even towards the end when he confessed to her, he couldn't hold her when she hugged him because he's too loyal and she also said she likes won. I think they both didn't end up with her but rin got to spend his life in her presence .
San liked Won as a friend and she told the Queen that when the Queen ask how felt about Won. She did up with Rin bc she loved him and they had a daughter together.
