Wow that’s so crazy to me and unfair AF!!! I get to stay at home for 2 years, PAID, and I could stay for another year unpaid. Germany is handling that so much more family friendly. But you got this mama 🙏🏾👏🏽❤️
Thanks for sharing your journey. I return to work in 5dys. I'm a nervous/emotional wreck at times when I think of how I won't see her all day. She'll be 14wks when I go bk & will be with my mil so at least it's her grandma who she'll be with. We'll be formula feeding though as won't be possible to breastfeed anymore. But I'll try feeding before and when I get home.
Thank you for this video. My maternity leave ended recently and it’s been a whirlwind of emotions. I can relate to a lot of emotions you described. You don’t see a lot of representation of working moms on you tube so thank you again❤
Here I am watching your vlog to see how you handle this moment. Next week, on Monday, it will be my first day of work after maternity leave. It breaks my heart. 🥺 I hope I can handle this like you do.
First day back to work is always so hard! I love my job so much but it’s just weird to go back for sure! You totally rocked it and it looked liked baby girl did as well! 🙌🏼
I go back in a week after 3 months. I’m sad but I’m going to be working from home for the next year or two. I’m still sad because my job is so busy. I admire your strength.
Reading all these really brings me back. Im about to give birth and for the first time ever i wont have to go back to work. Watching this makes me feel so very blessed. Im much older and married now. Thank God!!!
You are doing so well girly! Anxiety and being emotional is sooooooo normal. We are so use to being with our babies. But she will be taken care of. And just know that your providing for her is just as important. Welcome back to your job. ❤❤❤
Hey Chelsea ! I think we went to the same high school. RUclips suggested your video to me because I’m always looking up mommy or fashion tips . It’s amazing you’re making mommy context and lifestyle context- Believe me, a lot of moms need it! I was one of those moms who definitely needed it a few months back. I am a first time mom to a 11 month old baby and I spent so much time on RUclips and mommy apps scavenging for helpful tips. Congratulations on you and you beautiful baby girl. And sending good views your way. ❤️
You did super well mama. I went back last month after 6 months off but i eased into it with a 4 week schedule and super early hours since shes up anyway.. and i feel like im missing out on less. Im also very fortunate that i have my mom, dad and grandma (3 for 1) watching her so thats probably what puts me at ease
oh making a daily schedule eases the craziness.. i walk in bathe, let the pup out (or the dog walker), come in play with her until nap , wash her bottles while she naps. Then bed time until we do all over again the next day
You’re an amazing mommy! I have a toddler and a 4 month old. Both have been on a very similar sleep schedule and both slept through the night very early on. Keep doing what you think is best for your baby! P is gorgeous. She’s lucky to have you as her mommy! Enjoy every second you have with her they grow so incredibly fast.
Seems like it went well! That’s great!! It is so hard to leave them. I’m still struggling and I’ve been back at work for 3 weeks now. For me I think what plays into it too is I’m not a huge fan of my career. It’s so nice you wear scrubs to work! Do you like that? I’ve been considering asking to do that. Especially now with covid. I’m a healthcare provider in a hospital but am business casual right now. Scrubs would be nice because an outfit would be one less thing to worry about getting ready the night before or morning of.
Yes I think that's a huge thing. If I had to leave my baby every day and go to a job I hated I would honestly have to think if it was worth it. I'v been there with jobs I wasn't happy at. I LOVEEEE wearing scrubs. Makes my life super easy and I feel like I'm wearing PJ's to work. At the end of the day we put our scrubs in a washer and dryer that we have at the office and change before we go home so we don't have to worry about bringing germs home.
Chelsea Hernandez Oh yes I’m sure that changes the mindset for it so much. I used to like it! But now I’m like ughhh I have something much more rewarding I could be doing. I’ve been beggingggg my husband to let me stay home with the baby hahah the whole month before I went back 🙈 but we just can’t swing it financially right now. Maybe one day though🤞🏻 PJ’s at work would be great! Haha That’s so nice you guys have a washer at work to use!!
I’ve been back to work after being home for months with my newborn and I thought that every day will get better and it’s actually getting worse for me I’m suffering a lot I want to be home with my baby
OMG that's not fair! I'm so sorry, I was only suppose to get 6 weeks so I'v been dreading this day and it kept getting pushed back so I was super lucky. Don't think I'll be as lucky next time. I'll try to make it to 4 months next time...
Canada's maternity leave is now up to 18 months PAID. When I left Canada 5 yrs ago, it was 12 months paid, as it's been for decades. The U.S. is literally the only developed country that doesn't offer at least 1 year of paid maternity leave. Even Jamaica, which isn't as developed, mandates 12 weeks, 6 of which are paid (and women don't have to use their sick time).
Wow, it's so early. I started to come to my senses more or less only a year later. But our decree lasts 3 years. And who is your baby babysitter or grandmothers with?
I’m going back to work after a year I’m so nervous ! Tomorrow I’m a do a trial run and take him to the baby sitter and go get my eyes threaded and nails done so he can get a bit used to it and I won’t be so emotional that day
@@Imchelseah im thinking about ya!!! Have a great day back at work. My babys due ina few weeks and im so uncomfortable..lol but grateful bc my last 2 baby boys were born still. Im having a girl this time. I pray i watch her take her first breath..so much i cant sleep!! Anyway. Enjoy ur day mama!
glitterdix D i was suppose to get 6 weeks then 8 week bc I had a c section then I was going to add my two weeks vacation onto that so total 11 weeks. Then the state sent me a letter I would get 6 additional weeks for something called family bonding. So I did that and then covid happened and my job closed for a couple months. Once they were back up I didn’t feel comfortable leaving her still do bc of covid my job was understanding and allowed me to stay out until she was 6 months. It was unpaid but at least I got to stay home longer and had a job to go back to

MercyOhLaLa omg thats amazing!! It sucks over here lol
I only was able to get 12 weeks unpaid. And tomorrow I go back to work 😢 .... some women only get 6 weeks....
@@betylaguerrera oh no that’s so sad 😢 I really wish you and your family the best! ♥️
Wow lol. I got three weeks paid maternity leave and if you don't go back to work after 12 weeks, then your boss can legally fire you.
Thanks for sharing your journey.

No problem! Your feelings are valid🤍 Hope everything ran smoothly for you!
I'm going back to work tomorrow, and I'm so emotional!! cant stop crying about it.
Im so sorry ☹️ It does get easier..you’re not alone 🤍
Yay! I’m glad your first day went well! Dreading next month when I return but seeing you get through your day makes me feel better ❤️❤️
It wasn't as bad as I thought! I wish you luck that it goes just as smoothly! :)

Yes! Having family to help is awesome, wish I had more of that. I’m totally with you on having a schedule, it helps me out a ton :)

At least you got 6 months with your baby girl! I only got 3 months and dreaded my first day at work 😩🥺

Same I go back today and I’m so scared 🥺
Me too. I go back tomorrow. I can't sleep cause I feel so sad
Ill be going back to work in 20 more days where she will be 3.5 months and im already depressed
You made it girl! I know it was hard. Bless y’all!

A Google User so unfair, I wish I lived there lol
It's hard to make the 35% of your previous income work for the 18 month leave though in Canada
We love you! Be strong mama 💓
tysm!
I go back tomorrow as well after 6 months I’m sad to leave my son😞
Good luck!! The day actually goes by quick and it's so nice to see them at the end of the day and hug and kiss them

I cried the first week when I went back work. It gets easier. I promise.
Focus on RUclips so you can stay home with your baby. I know you can do it Chelsea. Seeing you sad broke my heart.
aw thank you, I'm doing a lot better :)
I've had 27 months and I'm dying.... it's so sad leaving home to go to work!!!
I start a new job in next month when my baby will 6 months. Dreading the day too 😫
But it will be work from home role so trying not to feel as bad
Its a transition but it gets easier 🥰 best of luck!🤍
Chelseaaaaa.. she’s so beautiful I love seeing her face!!! 🥰
tysm!
What do you do for work?
You did soooo good mama!
I did better than I thought! lol

Alana Hawes praying for you! What a strong mom you already are! 💗
I couldn’t imagine going back to work at 6 months my baby girl gets up all the time at night still and she’s about to turn one in June 😂
I'm thinking about getting a sitter how much is like a pay rate for a sitter for newborn?
I think it depends on location (as far as state) and if the person is coming to your house or not, experience etc. but we pay her $70 per day.
Howd you get 6 mos total leave compared to 4 1/2? 🤔😬

I'm curious, what do you do for work?
How do you have such good milk supply?
Favorite chapstick?
