My first thought when you started the video was “What eyeshadow is she wearing? It’s so pretty. Star aura?” But then in the video you showed it and I’m so glad! I just bought that quad 2 weeks ago and I love it! It gives me CT vibes but my perfect undertones for summer. Such an overpriced (but underrated) palette.
As soon as I saw you this morning I couldn’t wait to hear what foundation you were using - it looks amazing - naturally beautiful 😍 But why oh why did it have to be la mer…? Ah well, that’s my early birthday gift to myself taken care of 😂
La Mer is my ride or die foundation. It isn’t even the best match for my peach undertone but it’s the foundation that if it needs to work in rain, heat, sleet, and snow it works. I use it on really important occasions or if I haven’t slept at all and I’m late. Covers my sins and I just apply it with my hands. Really expensive and has gone up 20$ in the US. I don’t use it every day, but I keep a bottle around for when it needs to count.
I have been loving my Yucca palette as well! It's my first larger Natasha palette, I have quite a few mini's. When I first saw the colors I knew I needed it in my life. My only complaint is that I feel all the shimmers are basically the same shade. Aside from the silver obviously, but the other 3 are all very similar, especially when they are actually on the eye.
One umbrella is one of my favorite scents ever. I actually love it for fall/winter as it has a cozy tea vibe to me. Rouge smoking is a bit too much for me but Pas Ce Soir I got a full bottle and adore!
I don't know about the Kate Sommerville Vit C product you were trying, but I LOVE her Exfolikate--best exfoliator I have ever used and smells wonderful. Now that I am retired and don't wear fragrance every day, I buy samples, better for my budget than a $300 bottle of Chanel. I have half a dozen samples of different Chanel Les Exclusifs to spritz on when going out for the day. I spray a spritz onto a cotton ball and then rub that on my pulse points and on my neck, chest so I don't overkill on the scent. LOVE that Hermes blush, to me blush should be light, barely there, and yours looks perfect today
Rouge Smoking is still there, Charlotte. The key is to do one or two sprays and let it diffuse. I spray it on my scarf in winter and it is still evident a week later. And I am a 6+ sprayer by nature. You might be anosmic at an overwhelming spray level, so less is more with this. Try Diving into Cypress by Glasshouse Fragrances. A sea salt and saffron beauty that isn't sullied or pulled out of focus by other notes. Or Reveal by Calvin Klein. Not a terribly chic brand to flex, but the scent is salty and skin like. Two leathers that give a gentle, lady like softness are Le Jardin Retrouve's Cuir d'Russie and Hermés' Cuir d'Ange. So happy to hear how much scent moves you, Charlotte. It truly is a prvilieged joy to be able to appreciate perfumes.
If you're looking for a fresh summery scent I'd recommend Kyma from Korres. It's inexpensive but smells like you've spent the day on a yacht (probably, I'm not rich enough to have spent a day on a yacht, so I imagine it smells like this). It lasts really well too, I find when I've been lazy and not put clothes away I can still smell the fragrance on them the next day
Another vote for the Gucci blushes from me! ❤I really didn't have high hopes for them and held off on buying them for a long time but after seeing so many great reviews, I finally gave in and...I concur, they is just something about their blendability, the flattering shades, the wearability. Even better, (especailly for Gucci!) they don't have a scent 🙌
I just got the PMG quad and love it. It's softer and not soooo glitzy almost buffs in like Tom Ford. That taupe ish gold will look gorgeous with a charcoal for fall .
I’m so glad it’s not just me with the Tacha face wash - it feels like rubbing my skin with slime and I don’t think I can use it up, between the sliminess and the taste seeping in the sides of my mouth. It’s a shame but I’ll be giving it away.
Loved this video. I like hearing your thoughts on all the products. I will have to try that lotion for bumps. I get them on my one arm. I tried so many things. I will give that a try now
I love the YSL eyeshadow quad too, 😍 ❤ I've already got the 4th one, No. 400, very tender feminine, the matts are soooo smooth without fallout and the top shades have the beautiful wet shine look, gorgeous 🤩😍absolutely my favourite makeup items so far this year
Idk if u have tried the Surratt The Dew Drop Foundation it's magical!!! It's like a skin tint it makes ur skin look smooth, blurred, evened out, just perfected. It's my Holy Grail my skin looks like my skin just flawless.
I don’t use that Tatcha cleanser either-my face is too dry and it really sucks the life out of it. My oiler husband uses it though! 😂 I use the rice wash. Tatcha has been a huge hit for me and my extremely sensitive dry skin. I use a lot of their products. I am a little (ok a lot) disappointed in Tatcha because I use the Indigo Cream as my daily moisturizer and it’s been out of stock for almost a year. They said it was coming back this summer. I just ran out so I bought the Silk Cream. Today is my first day trying it. I had to jump ahead and see what foundation you were wearing too! Someone else commented that as well so I guess the La Mer is a hit!! I tried it several years ago when Mel was using it constantly. I thought it was ok, but I really think I had the wrong color and lately I’ve been considering repurchasing and trying again! I think I’ll wait for the Sephora sale when I don’t have to feel so guilty with the price!! 💸 I’m intrigued with the One umbrella for two fragrance. It sounds nice! My June favorite has been the Givenchy Prism Libre corrector in green and the foundation!! Im a little stunned by how much I like it! ❤❤ Have you tried that one?
Your skin/foundation look GLORIOUS! I may have to pick up that foundation now. I’m also completely and utterly smitten with the Yucca palette!! PERFECTION!!!
Hey Charollet..such a beautiful list 👌👌My faves in this month are Suqqu 141 blush nd lippie, givenchy rose perfecto gloss, dior blush in rosewood saie blush in spicy😘👌❤️
Pas Ce Soir has projection. I really like Rouge Smoking because I love all things cherry, but I'm on the fence about a full bottle. I'm waiting to decide on buying a full Pas Ce Soir because they are coming out with an extrait version and I love Gris Charnel extrait (and I have Gris Charnel's). You like strong, as do I.
The new gucci blush in intense plum 09 basically is a hybrid between soft red and the true pink that came out and have been absolutely in love with the colour. Also gave guerlain lipsticks a try and I am obsessed with the cases now. I would love it if you could review some pretty shades in the rouge g lipsticks please??
A friend gifted me the Nars palette with the gorgeous silver packaging which includes neutrals and a pop of green and I love it! Never used Nars shadows before and they wear all day and blend like a dream! I bought my first Mac palette - one of the new small palettes and the rosey one and I was super disappointed and wish I hadn’t purchased it. Lacklustre payoff and the shimmers really disappointing.
Hey Charlotte! Don't bother getting the Dior blush in Mahogany, every single review I've watched seems to have hated it (patchy, muddy, weird undertone etc). Rosewood is stunning though, I bought it last week!
Hi Charlotte have you smelt comme des garçon Black. It’s a unisex fragrance that’s almost all smoke, to me. I think it’s something you’d love mostly to add smoke to your already existing fragrances. Dont be put off by the fragrantica comments, it one of those fragrances that everyone smells differently but everyone gets smoke. I don’t get church, patchouli, sweet, Licorice or burnt gingerbread, I get bonfire. As an Australian I also get bushfire so it’s not for me but still have to get a sample spray every time I pass by.
I find Kate Somerville products very strong. I tried a few via samples and my skin just can't handle them. The only thing I liked was the goat milk cleanser, but it was not worth the price imo
Have you tried MAC Turquatic? I don’t know if they still sell it but it might be right up your alley. The other one that you should try is Skylar Pink Canyons. It’s not described as the type that you were searching for but it really smells very much a fresh salty aquatic to me. You should give it a sniff. 😊
LOL. Today was my first foray into cream blush. I am not a cream blush user, yet, for some reason, I felt compelled to buy the Makeup by Mario Soft Pop Plumping Blush in Perfect Pink…we’ll see.
I bought the YSL no.100 palette from Boots and, yes, you're spot on, this is a beaut 😍. I will add that I hate Boots's packaging (or lack of). How that palette didn't arrive smashed is a mystery - maybe it was due to the puffer jacket YSL packaging 🤷♀️ I didn't/don't like the PM stick blushers, they're so light and disappear so quickly. Waste of my pennies. Love ya, 💜💗💜💗💜
Oooo shuch a good list 🙂 i don't think anything I've been loving this past month is a new product but a few are new to me so my June/summer product favorites have been Tatcha liquid silk canvas ( new to me as of last month ) Makeup by Mario master prep and set compact Nars light reflecting foundation - smoothing and perfecting natural finish light to medium coverage long wearing in the heat Hourglass ambient soft glow foundation - smoothing and perfecting satin finish medium buildable coverage long wearing in the heat Hourglass veil translucent setting powder ( new to me this month ) Charlotte Tilbury beautiful skin bronzer Pat McGrath duo blushes in the shades Aphrodite Amour and Divine Rose 2 Lisa Eldridge lux lucent lipstick in the shade atomic cherry Urban decay all nighter setting spray Natasha Denona mini nude, mini glam, 5 pan camel
You always look so stunning❤That Nars little quad I like very much, caut my eyes right away. This month I was looking for some new summer fragrances and I was eyeing pretty much with The 7 virtues coconut sun.OH My Good mighty Lord.I dont know if you tried it yet but recommend it.Then I find a really bad boy DS&DURGA the new scent.Pistachio, cardamom, sweet roasted almond and at the end creamy vanilla settles in.Its an absolute dream!I hope you gonna try them❤
There is something sofisticated in NARS shimmer/metallic eyeshadows. I have thier Skin Deep palette...probably 5yrs old now😅 and the shimmers are still buttery and silky smooth. I'll probably keep it for another 5yrs 😂
I wonder if Tatcha say anywhere if the sticky cleanser is intended as a first cleanse with a second cleanse by a different product? In any case, I wouldn't love that either. Not good if a "cleanser" doesn't actually clean!
I have to say you look absolutely radiant💛today...You always look amazing, but you look totally different today....So, what is the word I'm looking for🤔FRESH and flawless, just perfection. Guessing your skin really is loving the Le Mer foundation because it's just satin😍So Lovely. Together with your whole neutral summery colour choices today, you are 100% my cup of tea, well, you know what I mean, I hope😅 PERFECTION👌And, yes, defo buying that Pat Palette!🎉Thanks to you🎉....CHARLOTTE H. MADE ME BUY IT!!!😅
BDK really lacks on longevity and projection. I have had purchased three bottles but decluttered two and left with only Gris Charnel, which scent calms me every time I sniff it. But because of the poor performance I spray it literally 30 times so it creates a reasonable size of scent bubble around me that lasts for a decent time.
I love Kate Somerville bc her products r very potent, like u have to be looking to do a specific thing to use them. Also, know what ur doing. Not to say they don't have normal, gentle products bc they do. Just sayin basically I love a skincare brand with heavy-duty products that actually do what they say they will. For products that r meant to be aggressive on the skin, that is. Another brand that comes to mind is Dr Brandt. There r so many others that have products that r potent as well. I've tried a few from these 2 brands I said here, that's all.
I also tried samples of BDK fragrances, and I loved Rouge Smoking, however I had the same problems as you did with it. Doesn’t last, no projection, unfortunately. So, no full bottle for me. The NARS lip balms are a complete waste of my money. Meh.
I really enjoy your work. Wondered if you have a review for Kosas wetsticks? I hear mixed reviews and wanted to know "the truth"! My lips and I hate drying lip products -- very much! :))
I wonder if anyone from the UK with experience of buying from BK Beauty would mind answering a quick question please? I've been holidng back from trying them as yet as I can't seem to get a clear idea on what to expect. As regards shipping to the UK, I understand that the items are shipped direct from the U.S. but that UK customers can pay in GBP. Great! I also understand that customs and duties are paid at checkout on orders over £135. However, what have others experienced when placing orders below this threshold? Is it true that any order under £135 is not subject to import duty or did I dream this? Would love to try a few BK Beauty brushes and lipsticks but I'm not so keen on surprise customs fees.
Charlotte!! The absolute SECOND I saw Alice du Parcq’s review of the Leather Vanille I thought “oh man I know someone who is going to buy this!” 😂 I’m interested in it myself because it’s a Dominique Ropion and it’s not supposed to be a gourmand vanilla. Looking forward to my samples! I also love the new Dior blushes! I got the same two colors as you and that cherry is gorrrrrgeous for summer 😍 Great video as always! ❤❤❤
The new Dior blushes are very dry and at Sephora they already feel hard panned. I’m definitely not gonna buy them. I like the Gucci blushes more. They are so smooth on the skin.
Xerjoff Decas smells like furniture polish on me and then just disappears from my skin. No compliments whatsoever when I wear it. Not sure anyone else can smell it on me either!
I rember Channel having some color similar to Mahogany, a brownish light Mahogany. I really wanted to try, I played around and missed it. Anyone rember? I could be off but I think it was Channel. It was just a lighter but similar color. Im so fair I need to really see this on a few people. Anyone??? Rember?
I don't see the point of these lip balms that go on like vaseline. They look like a ripoff. Also, your makeup in this video looks tanned and flattering and summery.
My first thought when you started the video was “What eyeshadow is she wearing? It’s so pretty. Star aura?” But then in the video you showed it and I’m so glad! I don’t love the original Dior blush but I LOVE the new cherry one!!
Get the Dior Mahogany blush!! I think it would really suit you 😊
Your eye makeup is stunning
Idk if u have tried the Surratt The Dew Drop Foundation it's magical!!! It's like a skin tint it makes ur skin look smooth, blurred, evened out, just perfected. It's my Holy Grail my skin looks like my skin just flawless.
Kate Somerville skincare products are some of the best and it does what it says 🙌
Give YSL lash clash mascara a go, it is perfection! 👍🏽☺️
10000% agree with your take on Dr Sam's body lotion - it's stunning! And yes, a little goes a loooong way 😂
Charlotte! You are such a lovely person! Thank you for your honest refreshing reviews!

Thanks Charlotte looking forward to your next one ❤

I feel like everyone is jumping on board with Rare Beauty’s naming convention. I kinda like it.
Sadly, the YSL clutch is not available in the US and I see Harrod's is sold out. I so want that quad!
