No, the 7th chord in a major key is not dim7. It’s m7b5. And you can’t substitute the m7b5 with a dim7. The dim7 chord is the upper part of the V7b9 rootless.
@@TheBeardedGuitarist thanks I too had this incorrect thought of 7th degree of a major scale can be used as Dimnished7th chord. Thanks for correction. So half Dimnished is the actual thing full Dimnished is wrongly interchanged. But it’s true replaceablity is the dominant 7th flat9 chord only can a dominant 7th chord too can be replaced with Dimnished 7ths? 🙏
