"the paintings in a body of work are like sentences and when put together create a paragraph" ~ i like that ✨
this was a wonderful 'to the point' helpful teaching thank you!!
I have created many diverse paintings and mixed media works of art over the years. That makes it more difficult to write a CV or artist statement. I am now in the process of finishing semi-abstract and some rather realistic seascapes. In addition I am working on a large series of botanicals. I don’t think I will narrow down to one thing. Is it important for an artist to have an identifiable style? Can I have several different series and styles?
Thanks for sharing such a valuable information! ❤
Excellent ! Thank you. Very good points. I am doing research but I m even thinking to do some small drawings to get ideas going, to stimulate the imagination and draw from the chosen theme. And not only rely on intuitive expression through the series.
You can do it! Sounds like a great idea. Sometimes it is good to have a solid plan and sometimes its good to be spontaneous. But for a good series, a plan is important
I am contemplating and working on multiple bodies of work, all very different. I start with an idea of compositions rather than a title. In fact, I have a difficult time naming the body. I just love thinking, drawing, and painting. Does it make a difference if you have no set identity?
thanks a lot mr Sergio this is great lesson for me ❤
Glad you liked it!
Sergio,
How many pieces can a body of work include?
