Happy Monday! Thank you for being here. I'm attempting to answer all the questions I've received about the Monet tile in today's video. AND you can read the step-by-step here as well: www.parisiennefarmgirl.com/monet-magic-diy-tile-painting-tutorial-for-a-picture-perfect-kitchen/ Friday we'll be sharing how the FLOORing tile arrived! We are underway! Of course, if you love all things design then I invite you to join my OLD WORLD DESIGN SOCIETY. For starters - I issue a new interior design challenge every Monday. You can try it FREE this week by clicking here: old-world-design-society.circle.so/checkout/full-general-access-old-world-design-society-forum-2024
Beautiful video Angela. I’ve been to Monet’s home and adore it as well, but don’t have the patience you have!! Your tiles are gorgeous! On a side note, if you could figure out a way to put those green shutters on your home, you’d have a dead ringer! ❤I always look forward to your videos!
So happy you are going to go ahead and start the wall! Maybe consider painting 7 extra….dated and personalized…one for each child to take for a coaster when they move someday and 1 for you and Joel just incase you decide to move someday. So much love put into this project.
You’re creating a homemade home one tile at a time. Nothing is as beautiful as something done by hand. Even any mistake adds character. I’m here for it and a bit jealous of your tenacity.
Hello Angela, Your idea to complete that one section is fantastic. Will we see yellow 💛 in your kitchen? I love my butter yellow room with chinoiserie accents and bedding; the colors make me calm and happy all at once. Julie 🌷
Thank you for the tutorial! I've been wanting to paint my own Portuguese tiles but wasn't sure how. Thanks to you, I've now painted and baked 50 tiles, with a blue white and yellow design I made myself (that I absolutely love!).
You've set yourself quite the task. You might choose to schedule time in your calendar every week, if you haven't already, to paint what you can it will be so satisfying to see the completed tiles stacking up. Meanwhile, installing Andrea now will be a big motivation to finish. Enjoy the process!
Angela this ia a big project and will be wonderful to see it completed. But until then I want to enjoy the process with you. So as you work along on your tile show us glimpses as you proceed so we may enjoy "the process with you". God bless your family and keep you in his care.
This actually takes my breath away. THIS is art, and a wonderful example of deep beauty, created with a soul, and a love that we just don’t see as a “thing” in our modern culture. I am soooo excited for you! And honestly, I’m excited for us, too, because I am excited to see the finished project in 2025? 2026? Whatever it ends up being, I’ve no doubt it will be worth the wait. I’m here for it! 😊👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️
😮💋😍 I'm truly in awe of you! Your talent and your perseverance. I so often think of a quick comment made by Joel several years ago...possibly during an early kitchen demo. He said people asked him how he could stay home & not have to go to work every day. His response was basically, "get yourself an Angela, and you can stay home, too!" 😂 He's a great partner for your amazing creative talent...even replacing "perfectly good door" for you! As a side note, I've got that fruit fabric in my stash....😊 I'll have to find it now. Fabulous video. Thank you for sharing your technique. (Oh, BTW, I double space between sentences, too! Bah, humbug on Shaye! 😂😂😂)
Such a cool idea. I have been contempl as ting my backslash. I think you have a loved my delema. Thank you . Sometimes a person wonders " why didn't I think of that" lol
HAPPY MONDAY Angela, family, and fur babies. In my 62 yrs, I may have had maybe one person who has impressed me; ANGELA, I AM IMPRESSED. Here for all the things. STTB
Amazing, I'm figuring out the best way to paint my tiles for the splash back for our new kitchen we're planning. This is wonderful, thank you so much, new subscriber here.
Yup the tile is going to look beautiful ❤🎉I'm glad to hear there is a firing process because I wondered how it would hold up to cleaning after all the hard work of painting them ❤
Absolutely beautiful work. Personally I would have painted the tiles in the Fleur de Lis pattern only because it represents the Holy Trinity but goodness it is truly a work of love for your home and family.
This is a fleur de lis pattern, it's just not the quintessential shape. And I love it that it represents the Trinity. Can't wait to share the outcome with you.
Precioso Ángela,y esos azulejos los puedes encontrar en Portugal. También es muy típico allí. Enhorabuena por tus vídeos tan lindos y saludos desde Barcelona ❣️❣️❣️
Thank you for the paint tips! I think I've been using an inferior glass paint but excited to try out vitrail and see your beautiful kitchen come together!!
This is beautiful! I'm thinking of doing something similar in my bathroom for the wall tiles, do you think it would work? Do you find the paint hardwearing over time?
Both are the same brand and the same product. The pens are blunt or fine tip pens of the same paint that you then see me paint with a brush. The brush gives it the handpainted, imperfect, brushstroked look that I want.
Amazing Angela! Do you think you could create a stamp to at least help with the outlining step of the tile painting process? I wonder if there’s a very transparent ink you could use first that would disappear under the blue. Just a thought! 😊
If you are not using a clay friendly paint/glaze, that means these are not being fired...am I right in assuming this? I am sure you have done all the research on this - you must expect the surface paint to withstand the test of time. Please share your thoughts on this for those who may consider doing it in their own spaces...thanks 🙂
Hi there - Be sure to check out last weeks blog posts of previous kitchens (paint lasted well over ten years) and the most recent post which lists the directions for this technique (as does a previous video ruclips.net/video/mHgaBO6_D_w/видео.html). This is glass paint which works on a previously fired surface when properly dried and then fired in a home kitchen oven. But the paint I've linked in the blog is the only one I can recommend, others have not withstood the grit of the grout when washing the residual grout away.
Thanks for the explanation - a glass paint, oven baked! Did your tiles have any glaze (matte or glossy) before you did your embellishment? thanks@@ParisienneFarmgirl
You have the patience of Jobe!!!! Not only could I not do what you are doing so very perfectly, I would be soooooooooooooo bored so much doing the same tile over and over that I would go positively INSANE!!!!! I applaud you!!! Inspired by your wallpaper in your kitchen, I bought it and did my kitchen walls from counter to cabinets, and I love it. That's good enough for me. It wasn't cheap. LOL.

Oh adding the shutters would be fabulous!
The big windows are 9 inches apart. But we have plans to "soften" the front:)

Your tiles are lovely!! The kitchen will be beautiful. I love watching the process as you create your kitchen just how you envision it!
I would think it would be sad to finish a project like this. How soul filling to design and paint your own tiles!
Just to look back years from now...
I love what you are doing in your home and those tiles are going to look stunning. 🥰🥰
Thanks so much.
Delft tiles are beautiful, I had them going up the stairs.
You’re creating a homemade home one tile at a time. Nothing is as beautiful as something done by hand. Even any mistake adds character. I’m here for it and a bit jealous of your tenacity.
I loved this! And I thought hand making and quilting a quilt was time consuming. Your tiles will be beautiful on your walls.

Your first kitchen is beautiful! I would do this again!
Oh wow, your blue and white tiles are so beautiful, and now I can't wait to see the overall look!
Your tiles are gonna be beautiful in your kitchen. I like all your ideas. I'm a diyer too. It's so gratifying doing it yourself.
Yes it is, isn't it?

Thank you. People have lost the love of the process to be sure. Nice and slow...
Be still my beating heart! Absolutely breathtaking! Very inspiring. Thank you for sharing.
And you say you don't do crafts. This is true craftsmanship. Far and above anything that involves a glue gun. Beautiful!!!

Thank you.

Yes! I was just searching the other day in hopes that you'd written a blog post how-to about this!
Did you see the link to the post? Enjoy!
Your tiles look beautiful. I too love Monet's kitchen.....and the small town of Giverny. Thanks for sharing how to paint tiles....I may give it a try.
The town is unreal. I'd move there and live an obscure life in a heartbeat.
💖💖💖💖💖👍🙏 à bientôt!
Angela - this is a masterpiece project!! Extraordinary!
Lovely! ❤
That is going to look so beautiful ❤

Go for it!

So after the glass paint then you goin in with what kind of paint. I’m so proud of you I loved the floral green tiles too

It's ok, scratching those pencil markings just takes a couple moments.
I am still trying to figure out what paint you use for the Monet tiles, also what color, and any other advise on the products you use. Thank you!
Hi Angela, did you post the links for the products you used? I can't find them somehow.
Thanks for showing us how to do this!
Oh rats, I forgot to. But it's linked in the blogpost.
Do you take the tiles to a ceramic place to have them cook in a kiln?
Hi my beautiful sister Angela! Do you still have spots for France?
Does anyone know if Angela still has her Airbnb in Door County? I remember her tiling around the fireplace in that house.
We went with a long-term renter, sadly, like much of the country our little community got oversaturated with Air BnBs.

Attic bathroom??
Can't you use a stencil?
I addressed this in the video if you're looking for details on doing in yourself. A stencil is not right for this kind of paint.
😚 "promosm"

I'm a pretty wound person.... hit the ground running every morning. Work til I collapse. Painting is my new CHILL PILL:)
