I attached the selfie stick to the wings handle bars using some simple rope, this has worked quite well, however if you want to check out my last video you can see that I recently purchased a new mounting system that I think has been much more simple and easy than tying down the selfie stick. The extended edition selfie stick that I use floats when extended, and when using my new mount I simply tie a safety line incase it comes off, hope this helps.
