    I misspoke, the *psilocybin* is actually metabolized into *psilocin*, ...just FYI.
    Also if you would like more interesting videos like this feel free to subscribe, I love to talk about weird drugs and plants.
    And everything else!
    I have many more psychedelic videos that go in-depth on my patreon page for anyone interested. But I can't post them here because RUclips has an issue with education on drugs....
    I have a podcast called 15-minute free-thinking where I talk a lot more about these topics as well

      carpo719 you know I have had this paralysis twice. Once a couple of years ago when I ate azuresens and just recently when I ate cyanescens. The weird thing is I found a huge patch of cyanescens down in Seattle. When dried I ended up with a little over 2 ounces. It wasn’t until I ate the last of them I got the paralysis. Like you said it wasn’t until about 2 hours after I came down that it hit me. It only lasted about an hour or so but it is a very scary feeling. My head was completely straight and I was aware of everything going on. I just remember going outside for a smoke and on my way back to my apartment I went to step up the on the curb and went straight to the ground. When I tried to get up my legs felt weak and and uncontrollably shaky. Went to walk again and boom hit the ground again. I was freaked out and looked around to make sure nobody saw and came up and panicked and called 911. Then I literally drug myself to the front door and into my apartment. Not sure why that last bit that I ate out of all those cyans triggered it. All I know is it last never happened with any cubensis or strain of cubensis. Glad to hear someone talk about it though.

    I had this woodlover's paralysis twice now, with azzies. I'll post my experience for informational purposes;
    #1: Mild. My eyes were out of focus for long distance vision for a couple hours. It was just hard to see straight. My right arm refused to write properly as well. This came in waves: at first it did not cooperate and my writing was extremely ugly, later it worked again, at the end of the day it was floppy again. It was slightly paralyzed, if that makes sense.
    #2: More serious: This was after my biggest amount of azzies ever. I layed down somewhere for a long while. After I got up, I could feel my legs were very heavy, and... sleepy. I found it funny and just walked like an idiot for a little bit. Then they simply completely stopped, and I literally fell to the ground in surprise. My arms were also failing. I crawled like a crippled animal to try get out of sight more, and I only just managed to spread my tarp to lay on so I wouldn't have a hundred ticks on me. In the evening walking back was difficult. If my legs failed I took a 5 minute break and resumed. Breaks helped at that point. Again the difficult writing. Vision very out of focus for a long time. In the evening while I was eating, my jaw / tongue also got paralyzed. I simply had to take 1 minute breaks to continue chewing my fruits! Today (the next day) all is well again, although I could feel the slightest residue of weird feeling in my legs which has the same 'flavor' of the paralysis.
    I found it relatively funny (although not comfortable) because I had heard of this phenomenon beforehand. If I hadn't known, I think I would've been quite scared and confused.

    I had this last night after a 7 gram trip on mushrooms picked from North East Melbourne, Australia. It was quite scary as I walked downstairs to grab a bite, as I tried walking upstairs I collapsed on the floor and literally had to drag my self to my bedroom. I was convinced I was having a stroke as not only was it predominantly on one side, but I also experienced severe dizziness and slurred speech. I was about to call the ambulance however it was 5am in the morning and I didn't want to wake up the rest of the household.
    After a nervous 6 hour sleep, I woke up with still quite weak limbs however much less then the night before. After a few more anxiety inducing google searches and due to the fact I was also in the midst of a Keto diet (all my vegan nurse friends believe the high levels of fat can cause a stroke), I decided to go to the emergency ward to be safe. After 3 hours of waiting, I finally found my diagnosis online ... from a Vice article of all places! thank Christ for that!
    Also I'm curious to know, at around 7 hours into the trip I took 25mg promethazine antihistamine to help sleep. perhaps this was the catalyst?
    Spread awareness for Wood Lovers paralysis peeps, it scared the fuck out of me!

      Happened to SWIM in Adelaide not long ago. So maybe it’s more prevalent in Aus???
      They knew what it was and didn’t get too stressed but were paralyzed for about 10 hours.
      The most dangerous bit was them falling over . They hit the ground really hard as their legs gave way. Could have really ripped knee or hip or sacral ligaments. Or even received a head injury.
      Blood pressure , heart rate , respiratory rate and swallowing were all unaffected.
      So it appears to effect a persons peripheral nervous system but not their central autonomic nervous system. Thank god , otherwise it would be severely life threatening.
      It seems dose dependent .
      Not a pleasant thing that’s for sure.

    • @neutra__l8525
      @neutra__l8525 3 года назад +1

      @@leighbyford635 I was also with SWIM. What seemed at first to be general shroom 'heaviness' quickly turned into paralysed hands and feet, and spread fairly quickly to SWIMs entire body. It was important to monitor SWIMs blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate and swallowing. As long as these stayed fine SWIM was able to stay calm. Useful to know if it happens to someone. It may take 3 - 6 hours but it will end and you will be OK. If an individual is alone and notices this effect starting it is probably a good idea to call a friend ASAP before the paralysis makes it difficult/impossible to use a phone. Once monitored, get to a bed or couch and make yourself comfortable. Do not try and get up and walk around as paralysis can come in waves and may seem to be gone, but then in 1 second the body can be paralysed again, and the fall could do SERIOUS damage. Effects may last into the next day depending on dose size (possibly). Do not drive a car! This would have ended very badly for SWIM. :)

    I've grown cyanescens so I have been able to observe that careful harvest is key. Pick early and dry as soon as possible. I've had five grams carefully dried cyanescens with no paralysis . I've had 3 grams of frost bitten blue mushrooms gave me a very good dose of paralysis. Face mostly mouth and wobbly for about 8 hours

    • @carpo719

    • @Mynameismudd67
      @Mynameismudd67 2 года назад +1

      The only difference is that at home they can be monitored. In the wild there's no idea how long they have been there and what conditions they've endured. I am 100% convinced that it is not a chemical in the mushroom responsible for paralysis but some bacterial actions. I've noticed a distinct smell to the mushrooms not properly stored or harvested to late. As stated once I realized it was bacterial I've not had a paralysis event even at 5 grams. I grow them outside btw.

    Last year my daughter gave some cyanescens supposedly, as they were dried so I couldn't tell. I ate about a gram and 4 hours later, no visuals at all yet but I started feeling sick. Soon my legs and arms began feeling wobbly. I soon fell to the floor and could not get up. Trying to was very painful. I tried to use my phone but my hands wouldn't work. I was laying on the floor and getting very sleepy. While laying there unable to move I noticed I was not breathing. I tried to breath in and nothing would happen. There was no holding your breath feeling and it was like my body didn't care whether I was breathing or not. I was laying on my stomach and I almost fell asleep and started to panic. I did finally roll over onto my side, tried to breath and I got a some air. All I could get was short little breaths. I calmed myself down and breathed slowly. A minute later I was back on my feet!

The best way to describe them is they look just like a woman's breast. They are light colored and towards the center they darken like the area surrounding the nipple. The ones I found were anywhere from 3 inches to 7 inches in diameter. The hardest part was the dew was so heavy your shoes and pant legs are soaked before you even get started. I reccomend double bread bags over the shoes. Also, because the moisture is so heavy, mosquitoes are a problem and the crop dusters spray with some kerosene based chemicals. You have to beat them to the fields. I was just north of Fort Meyers.

      Charles Hendrick good to know. I drive along back roads, mid state, pretty frequently, between my home in Charlotte and the coast near Pawley’s. There’s at least 2 cattle pastures I know of, along the 2 lane country road, that are pocked with the grassy dung mounds and lots of exposed pies in varying states of decay. Always thought those places were very promising to peep a look at. But, not know if the cubensis ranged in the area, I never bothered to stop and look. Thanks the tip and confirmation of my suspicions 🙏. I think I will have to stop some time this spring...

      The pastures I mention are in a town called Joanna..as you enter from the north is on the right. They may not even exist anymore ...but source I can verify, This was my first gathering of the teacher...which I shall not forget. Trust me tho, its best to cultivate yourself, cheaper, and not fraught with the iffy or the hazard. Here I am, many years later, with the teachers growing in my spare room. No trespassing...just a lil effort. Give it a try.

    This wood loves paralysis has me super interested. Don’t think I’m in any danger from it due to my location and the fact that 100% of all the mushrooms available to me are cubes. I had a bad reaction to haldol actually it happened twice and my muscles were totally hijacked by whatever was going on. The first time ended up being really serious. Because of the muscle strain my muscles had released abnormal amounts of creatinine completely fucking my kidneys and liver up. Also had been walking around with pneumonia and another virus I had no idea about. Ended up spending 18 days in the hospital. The experience Fucking sucked so bad I can’t imagine how bonkers that would drive me if I was tripping through all of it.

Do psychedelics grow in that environment? I have around 15 species of mushroom that grow on my property once a year. Love looking for them, but I've yet to determine what's what. Also, the bacterial contam must be nonsense. Botulism is ruled out automatically, because the bacteria are strictly anaerobic. Histamine can be safely ruled out as well, because first of all: It is rapidly destroyed by amine oxidases, and if it did anything, the effects would appear in your digestive tract (severe heartburn, nausea, diarrhoea).

    Funny story, literally yesterday I just ate a mixed bag of penis envy and golden teachers. I rather enjoy the PE strain moreso than GT. I do find notable differences in effects between the two strains. The penis envy felt more warm spacelike, technicolor almost video game-esk. The GT was a different visual set but somewhat less visual, however I felt much more wild bodily sensations all over, strange sensations i’ve never felt before. It was a heavy body stone and at times it felt almost as if the mushroom was giving me a hug or spinning around my body. Felt heavy in the face and eyes. The golden teacher felt more demanding and mind fucked. The penis envy was more easy going and neon technicolor. Both at the same dosage of an eighth of an oz. My friend said the PE was alleged twice as strong as others so he charged way more, I thought that was a load of crap. Golden teacher by itself floored me much more.
