I saw them live in 1977 , their first American tour, with Boon Scott , The original and best lead singer that they ever had !!! Bonn you were the greatest !
He's the original singer of AC/DC, Bon Scott. The other videos you've done of AC/DC is with the singer they brought in after Bon passed away. Their Back in Black album had a lot of song's that Bon wrote before his untimely death
It is commonly known that Bon Scott, the first singer on AC/DC records, is who the bands original success in the 7o's was built on is favored by many, Brian Johnson has fronted and championed the band through the years since Bon Scott's early demise. But it is Angus Young, his brother Malcolm and the rest, who continued on after saluting the fallen Scott with the album, BACK IN BLACK, to give more after the devastating loss. You must watch these guys play - WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE Live at River Plate ( It's a Long Way to the Top ) IF YOU WANNA ROCK-N-ROLL for the surprise instrumental. And finally, YOU SHOOK ME ALL NIGHT LONG. You two are fun to watch. Especially when Asia's eyes open wide in disbelief. Get after it guys.
The lights were not callrd disco lights. They were called Par 64s and were the standard spotlights used by live acts in the 70s 80s.Ithink that they were usually 500 or 1000 watt bulbs very bright. They had a bracket attatched to the front of the light , and we would insert different colured plastic films to achieve the lighting colour desired.
This was the early, raw version of AC/DC. Was lucky enough to see them with this singer (Bon Scott) and later with Brian Johnson, after Bon passed. Glad to say they never really went full commercial, like many other bands. Angus, the energizer bunny on steroids, as always. Try "Long Way To The Top" from the same LP. Great bagpipe solo; if you're into that, lol. Cheers!
I think it took someone with Bonn's charisma to drag the audience's attention from Angus. Otherwise it would've just been the Angus show, which you could argue is what ACDC became after Bonn's death.
WOW, this is major old school. I didn't get to see Bon. BUT, I seen them a few times after his death. These guys were and still are PURE ENERGY in concert. I lost lbs every time we saw them. I MISS THOSE DAYS. SO MUCH FUN.
Those Stage Lights were very hot. Those Bulb were Huge. I had to set them and the Gels also. The whole can was scorching. Worse was being up close when clustered in mass and needing to re-aim them for placement, @ 20+ feet above a Stage swinging.
Those lights were so hot. I have been to concerts in the 70's. I have been in the front row, the heat from those lights were so hot. Sort of like a sauna.
Bon Scott was the original AC/DC singer... he died in 1980 just 3 years after this was filmed in Europe for TV... AC/DC came out of Australia in 1976/1977 and had to win over a music scene where they did not fit in. U had punk rock in the UK and disco in America... and AC/DC's brand of rock n roll was like a shot in the arm! They toured consistently, first in Europe... then North America until they finally had a gold-selling record in the US in 1979. Angus Young is the crazy schoolboy guitarist... his (late) brother Malcolm Young was the 2nd guitarist in the back.
We used to sing this song dancing down the street in high school. By heart, we knew every word. 1978 to 1982, lol. Yep. I'm that old. Thanks for the memory. Love from California.
The sound of Australia in the '70s. :D So proud how AC/DC conquered so much of the world, bringing so much inspiration and joy to audiences and musicians alike. So much energy, passion and musicianship. Brings me to tears. Bon Scott era was amazing. He is sorely missed.
I’d love to see what you think of truly, one of their most iconic hard rock songs from back in the 70’s... “It’s a long way to the top (if you wanna rock & roll)”, recorded while the group was playing on the back of a truck (yes, you read it right) & featuring the inclusion of instruments you would NEVER expect in a hard rock song, but they were paying homage to their heritage ✊️😄. Another of their most awesome videos is for the song “Jailbreak”. For those who grew up in the Bon Scott era (like I did), you’ll know exactly what I mean. Peace, love & best wishes to one & all on this channel... From 🇦🇺Australia🇦🇺 ✌️😎
@@stanleymyrick4068 ... Years ahead of their time these guys rocked like no other check out A TOUCH TOO MUCH BY A/C D/C my favorite but there all good by these guys . in this video you can tell folks had never experienced a show like that today everyone would be on thier feet.
I first saw AC/DC as a 14yo in late 1972 maybe early 1973 before they had hits and played mostly covers. It was at a church hall in East Bentleigh Melbourne Australia at an U15 music event where Nuns and Police were chaperones. We smuggled cans of beer in by cutting holes in our jacket pockets and filled the lining with cans and shared them with the band. Needless to say the Nuns and Police turned a blind eye to everything and just enjoyed the night. That was the 70s vibe.
2 people in that clip aren't here anymore, bon Scott (singer) malcom young (rhythm guitar) and the last one was the elder brother of Angus young the crazy lead guitarist ! Definitely have to do highway to hell or if you want blood !
Angus is a true master... when you watch him, and hear the guitar... then see one of his hands in the air as he's still playing one handed... you know you are seeing a true master at work
This is in the 70s and I remember going to a big show even in the 90s, before the LED lighting existed and when they turned on a lot of light, if you were near the stage, you could feel the heat in the crowd, so those guys must have baked on stage.

Bon Scott. Wow!! Incredible vid, have not seen this one!! 👏🏽 I saw AC/DC with Bon and later Brian Johnson. They'll tour, I'll see em again.👍🏽 There is NOTHING like a show from these guys!! Bravo guys...loved it!! ❤👍🏽
This was interesting. I've never heard this song, without the "Cause I'm TNT I'm dynamite" in the chorus, it's usually throughout the entire song, & never heard that solo B4 either, so this was something way different, but cool as heck at the same time! I have heard every song by AC/DC, but clearly not every versions of the songs. I really enjoyed this
I'm pretty sure that was the show where they were filling in for another band who broke up right before the show. That band was well known, and at the time AC/DC wasn't. When they came out their amps were buzzing and the host was like "I don't think that's supposed to happen." Then they blew the roof off the place. All throughout their performance you can see the audience has no idea what's going on, but there are a few who are completely into it. One guy was dressed like Angus and dancing around. At one point Angus went up to the balcony and was standing on the edge while playing. Even at the end when the audience applauded it was withheld, like they still didn't know what they'd just witnessed. I think they only did 2 or 3 songs, but they filled their time with more rock than anybody there was ready for. EDIT: Actually after finishing the video, I don't think that was the same show. The audience in this one actually applauded lol.
Bon Scott was the lead singer who died of alcohol abuse. He was replaced by Brian Johnson who sounds like him. The guitar player is Angus Young who is 66 years old and 5’2”
I enjoyed this more than the studio version. It's so great to see Bon's facial expressions. He was a great frontman who possessed an almost Freddie Mercury level confidence on stage. I don't know why he needed to drink the large quantities of alcohol he drank. We lost him right in his prime.
I'm with you on that! I saw them when they first came to the US. And 2 more with Bon. 4 with the other line ups. Nothing is better than live with Bon Scott. Angus is Angus! The Best!
Angus has been doing the same head banging move for for over 50 years, live fore ever Angus and AC/DC. This was from their first tour in the U.K. so they weren't well known. Can you imagine all those people sitting down at a concert these days. Angus also used to play a solo and would walk off stage, only to keep playing and then show up at the back of the crowd. He wouldn't get away with that these days as I think the crowd would rip him part in excitement.
Go on Angus 🎸 Rocking out that guitar & those legs! Classic! They call me & my man TNT ( Tim N Terri ) I guess it’s a nicer way of saying Explosive 🧨 or 🐂 headed🐂!
love you guys. love your reactions, love rock n roll, heavy metal, and good music from each genre. Love, peace and freedom for this Planet. greetings from berlin (germany)
This is Bon Scott, the original lead singer of ACDC. He passed away in 1980 and Brian Johnson took over. If you really want to rock, listen to ACDC LIVE at River Plate. Those Argentinians can ROCK!! Angus Young is the lead guitarist and founder. He's a Beast!
If you can find any of their live performance at Donington in Scotland, look for Jailbreak- Angus’s opening guitar performance before the start of the song - Asia, you’ll like it.
One to listen to, if you would like to is: 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap' - It is a good one. Continue to enjoy! Angus Young is legendary. Fortunate to see Bon Scott, as well. This is earlier AC/DC. Shine on!
They're half naked on stage because it's hot as heck up there. With all the stage lights on, and electrical equipment running (which was all analog tubes back then) it was easily over 100 degrees on stage.
The lead singers name is Bon Scott, and HE is the reason why you are glistening! One of THE greatest frontmen in Rock history. Let there Be Rock should be your next cut, you'll be hyperventilating by the end of the song!!
I saw them live in 1977 , their first American tour, with Boon Scott , The original and best lead singer that they ever had !!!

Actually Bon Scott was not the original front man of ACDC, Dave Evans was.

They're half naked on stage because it's hot as heck up there. With all the stage lights on, and electrical equipment running (which was all analog tubes back then) it was easily over 100 degrees on stage.
The chorus runs:
TNT
Im Dynamite
TNT
And I'll win the fight
TNT
I'm a power load
TNT
Watch me explode.
Ac Dc let there be rock. Live at river plate
The lead singers name is Bon Scott, and HE is the reason why you are glistening! One of THE greatest frontmen in Rock history. Let there Be Rock should be your next cut, you'll be hyperventilating by the end of the song!!
