As South African, my culture shock is seeing Black American lady speaking so calm and relaxed. We normally see them on TV speaking very loud, moving their hands and head.

You should know better than to rely on the media with regards to how they portray black people. Especially in a place as racist as the united States.

Being Black British ,the culture shock isn’t so great.
Thousands of South Africans of all shades are in Britain and South African food is readily available.
Loads of South African cricketers and footballers are worshipped here.
The disgusting Apartheid regime was hated here (it did have support also), but Nelson Mandela had massive appeal and support and was loved by all.

It took years of persistent to change those commercials...I remember going to Botswana a few years ago and also noticing their billboards...all featuring native Batswana and wondering why South Africa with her demographics was so different

As a Zimbabwean-born 🇿🇼 woman living in the UK, the issue about black people on billboards, TV etc is something I totally understand. A few days ago I literally laughed by myself when I saw a very African looking man giving us the weather forecast after the news. I literally screamed, "Hello darling 😀!" and only then did I realise I had never seen that shade of black, that wide a nose, and that degree of thick lips in over 20 years of being in the UK 🇬🇧.

Yes I’ve always lived in Cape Town. I have visited Durban, Pretoria & I spent 2 months in the Garden route. I go to Jo-berg mostly when I need to purchase wholesale items but Cape Town is home

Seeing as the steering wheel is on the right side of the car, why do they say the driving is on the left? I'm from Cameroon and studying in SA abd our cars have the steering wheel on the left but then it's said we drive on the right? Weird stuff

It means you keep left and pass right when your steering wheel is on the left. Then, when you sit on the left, you keep right and pass on the left when you drive. It is weird to say the least.

You don't have you ear on pulse of the economic world, Dollar is being challenge in all fronts namely Brics neutral currency that Russia and China are pushing and also crypto currency. When those countries that are not happy with US policies leave Dollar it bye bye and guess with currency to bet on.
