I think I can speak for everyone here by saying that your the effort you put into these videos does not go unnoticed. Seriously, THANK YOU. I'm sure it would be way faster and way easier for you to complete this build without monkeying around with cameras and without sacrificing the time to edit and upload. But I really enjoy following along and I have learned so much about the Kitfox and about airplane construction in general from watching your videos. Thanks again and please keep it up!!
Just wanted to drop a line and say how much I appreciate you taking the time to document your build and share it. I have been planning a Kitfox build in my head and your videos have helped me tremendously. Thanks again!

Excellent video 👍👍 Thank you for taking time out to make it and for freely sharing it with the aviation Experimental aircraft and S-LSA home build community 🙏 Great work 👏
It's so cool how many skills a person uses, or develops, to build an airplane. What a great experience it is to be able to do this. Thanks for making the time to do these videos!
All this wonderful gold!!! This is all awesome info to be treated like gold!!! Wish I had you as a “personal” call when I was building my helicopter. My Kitfox is in a conex outside the hanger. It’s next. 582....then will be joining the apex crew. Would love to someday contact you. Please keep doing these videos. I can only imagine how it’s helping so many out there. Thankyou for all the time you put into these.
I just want to be one more voice of thanks for your excellent work. I love your videos! I watch Mike Patey’s videos too but his skill set is so far beyond mine that it’s crazy. When I watch your videos I feel like you’re teaching me something that I could actually do. I appreciate this so much. Another thing that you are teaching is how to work through a problem. When we see you work through the painting process or the laser cutting of the panel, it really opens our eyes to the possibilities that we can pursue. Thank you for the inspiration that your work provides!
I will have to watch this one again to be sure I caught everything - thanks for sharing not just the results of your build (looking fantastic) but the discussion about all the information you have digested to arrive at the decisions you are making. I am far behind you (working on shop space) but find myself headed the same direction - Thank You! - keep the information coming.
Another excellent video Bryan. The insight on the wiring process, definitely helps see what I’m getting myself into, and looking forward to tackling it. Thoroughly enjoyed the video, thanks much.
Crackin’ beers while it’s Christmas everyday... you Sir are a lucky man!!! 😂 Seriously, I am so thankful that I just came across your channel today and for the time you have dedicated. In just four or five of your videos you have touched on almost all of the things I have been wondering where to start with. I am going to pickup an Avid Speedwing this weekend and can’t wait to get started on making improvements! Great job, great videos, and thanks again!
Hi Bryan, Awesome and helpful video. Thanks for being the first with using the BD Turnkey Engines. Can I be second as I am installing the APEX into my Highlander project. Seems like the most efficient and effective way to go.
Looks like the second half of build time is spent at work behind the panel... Thanks for the insight! Your videos help me to determine how much work it is to build my own kitfox! Maybe i order a kit, the guys at kitfox should start a referal program!
Always great videos. I'm sure quite a bit goes into the recording, let alone the build itself. Always a good day when you can say; "I'm gonna crack a beer..."
"You could have someone do it for you but what's the fun in that?" :) Classic Bryan... Your the man. lol. Nice work dude! Your video's really are the best, thanks a lot!
You deserve way more subscribers, Greatly appreciate all the time and info your putting into your videos, excellent explanations of tech info . Great planning on your panel...
I just stumbled on your channel, and... "what a find!". I love your work, you do a very professional job. I'm in the middle of doing much of the same work on my plane as well due to upgrades, and my 12' garage table looks exactly like yours 😂. I also use GRT (dual Mini-AP) and a mix of fuses and circuit breakers, but my mission is a bit different in it that I do longer distance trips and IFR operations. I like the fact you do most of your own wiring (same here), that is the only way to really make a custom fit setup, and I think having to work through the manuals to come up with those in the first place goes a long way toward the ease of maintaining your creation in the future. Keep up the great work, and keep detailed electrical drawings. I find I spend almost as much time "wiring" on the computer as I do on the airplane itself, and my printer is always spitting out the latest drawing to go in my electrical binder. I use OmniGraffle for my drawings as it allows me to anchor the wires at both ends and move components around without loosing the connection. One thing I would double-check on your installation is the position of your ELT. I have the same unit, and if my memory serves me well it must be installed horizontally, with the arrow facing in the direction of flight. Perhaps you have already considered that. Anyway, love this video, subscribing today, can't wait to see your progress. Ciao, Marco.
Thanks for doing these videos. I hope to build something like this one day. Your videos will be a huge resource. And and panel is sweet! Totally going to copy that 😄
Great video that was very informative. Keep up the great work. I’m also planning on using the GTR EFIS so a video review if that after your flying would be another video I’d be interested in.
Had an odd moment watching this video. I'd been watching Bryan's videos for a while when, suddenly, there was one with him tearing apart a freaking SNOWMOBILE 😲 I think the words, huh, and whaaaa covered my reaction. What's he up to, I wondered. And now we're here. Quite the journey eh? 😉
@@BowenAero I was going to make a comment about the ELT orientation but it appears others have covered that. It is amazing that how many people, Who are a&p's and supposed experts, that do not pay attention to that important installation instruction. AND yes it feels like Christmas when receiving those packages until a shipment goes back to them with that darn check! My first build I used a bussman mini blade fb where I could include micro solenoids for exciting the avionics buss for example. You are right about the failure aspect, but in my installs I do not fuse critical circuits through them. I felt the same way as you about the VP but on the 4th look through, the trim and flap features were a nice feature. I did not use a VP on my last build but if to do another I may consider it. Thanks so much for your selections AND REASONING. I am sure many of us want to hear that important info. What was your reasoning for the IPAD pro? Seems a bit overkill for its purpose? THANKS AGAIN
It all looks great! When I first heard of the yamaha engines I had my doubts but it looks like a lot of details are really well sorted. I'm looking forward to seeing you fly. For your fuel pump selector if you wanted to keep the same style switch as the rest you could use the single pole to cycle a double pole relay. (or two in parallel for redundancy). You may have thought of that already and elected not to for weight or simplicity but in the off chance you hadn't it's another way of making it work.
Good choice on avoiding vertical power. Primary advantage is weight savings by eliminating circuit breakers- you already achieved that with your fuse setup. No issue with that here- this is a simple airplane and doesn't need more failure points. Personally I thing Vx power is an overblown fad for simple GA aircraft.
Check your ELT installation. All of them I've installed require that they be mounted horizontally with a specific end to the front of the airplane. Yours appeared to be vertically mounted
A lot of good info in this one, Bryan. I'm going to plan to watch it again to soak up what I missed the first time around. I can see why a lot of builders have their panels professionally wired. It's a lot of tedious work. But the job you're doing is first rate. Question on the mounting of the ACK ELT. Shouldn't it be mounted so that it is aligned with the longitudinal axis (direction of flight) of the airplane? I'm planning to replace my old 121.5 ELT with that same ACK unit for my Stinson. Also, what was the receiver audio out pin for that you said you didn't need? Was that for a speaker for the transceiver (radio)? Stinson guy.
I have been a subscriber for along time and appreciate the effort you put into these videos. I have a new Garmin GTR225 and I am struggling with the wiring. Would you mind sharing your pin diagram with me? Thanks!
Two questions, what switches are you using on they panel? Have you had any issues with that label maker? I have been looking for heat shrink label but none were for that labeler you have. That model is a lot cheaper. Thanks for the videos!

Hey Kevin, when you are adding all this stuff to the aircraft, is there a plan on where to locate each item in order to true up the CG and load distribution for a more balanced overall weight? I also assume that there’s a plan to keep track of the appropriate weight as you go along to have some idea the bottom line projection near completion. I also wonder if the compitetion factor for racing has a factor in all the weight your adding and the build? Thanks
No polarized glasses for flying. Most glass panels will have issue with polarized lenses. I don't have any issue with sun glare on the panel in my model 5.
I'm curious if you know what software you will be using to build your wiring schematic? I've been looking for something to use for my plane but haven't come up with anything good yet. Thanks!
