Thank you so much for this. My husband got me an Ortho sprayer. I knew there was some kind soul out there who figured this out for me. I appreciate you! 🎉😊
Thank you so much for this video! I have been searching for HOURS to find the plant food-to-water ratio to mix, and then what concentration setting to use on the sprayer. The way you explained it made perfect sense, and I can now modify the formula to fit any product/concentration I need. You're the BEST!!!
Direct Response from Miracle Grow Themselves: To apply Miracle-Gro Plant Food using the Ortho Dial N Spray hose-end sprayer, set the dial on the Dial N Spray to 4 ounces. The label rate for Miracle-Gro Plant Food is 1 tablespoon per gallon of water. To make 8 gallons of finished spray, measure 8 rounded tablespoons of plant food into the Dial N Spray jar and fill the jar with water. Mix thoroughly. Set the dial at 4 ounces. When you have sprayed until jar is empty, you will have applied 8 gallons of properly diluted spray.
8 T is equal to exactly 4 ounces of liquid, and since there is no setting on the dial for 8 T, you set it to 4 oz, which is the same thing. The sprayer sprays out 2 gallons of water every minute of continuous spray, so does this mean it will be empty completely empty after spraying continuously for 4 minutes of time???
Thanks a Million Sterling! After the bad reviews the miracle gro hose end sprayer I wanted to do this but just couldn't fathom in my mind how to do the math! So I'm going to follow your formula and enjoy doing it--and I think my plants will enjoy it, too. (And I understood every word you said, BTW) Keep sharing!
Simple and straight to the point: Miracle Grow Muracid and All Purpose plant foods mix at a rate of 1 tablespoon per gallon of water. To make a concentrate for use in the Ortho Dial N Spray, follow this: In a container, add 8 rounded tablespoons of Miracle Grow plant food. Add warm water to make 32 ounces of concentrate. Mix thoroughly. Warm water helps the product dissolve easier. Add the concentrate to the Ortho Dial N Spray. Set the dial to dispense the 32 ounces of concentrate at a rate of 4 ounces per gallon . When the container is empty, you will have dispensed the equivalent of 8 gallons of product.
Hi there, I was clear when you write to mix 8 TBS (ie: 15 ml) of miracle gro powder to make 32oz (1 litre) concentrate. But I became confused how to set the dial. To dispense 32oz (ie: 1 litre) of concentrate at rate of 4oz per gallon (ie: 30ml per litre), do you turn the dial to 30 on the sprayer setting? I have the Scott’s dial n spray (the dial is ml per litre water). I get confused when everyone talks with different units galleon, ounce, tbs, ml, litre…. The miracle website gives instruction to just put the powder straight into the sprayer bottle without any water to pre dissolve the granular fertilizer into liquid form, doesn’t that clog up the sprayer, not making sense to me…
The miracle gro sprayer is different, these have to have liquid contentrate in the tank. The miracle gro sprayer, you just put in the powder and it gets it wet and sprays it out. This is different, though.
I had to read your instructions a few times but it finally clicked. The end goal is to get the equivalent of 1 tbsp per gallon coming out of the spray, and if it's doing 2 gallons a minute, and there's 32 oz in there, 4oz a gallon at 2 gallons a minute would come out like 8oz, 16oz, 24oz, 32oz. 2 tbsp is coming out in each of those 8oz. Thank you soooo sooo much, you finally cracked the code for me. This video kinda helped but honestly, it still left me very confused. Cause the math just still wasn't adding up that he was giving us. A whole bag seemed excessive. Thank you so much dude, you're a God send.
Perfect. Don't think about it any more--just do it GadgetMan's way. The only thing I can think of to add is that you probably will never get ALL the crystals to dissolve, so either pour it in the sprayer through a strainer (e.g., a paper paint strainer works well), or make sure your sprayer siphon hose has a screen on it so you don't have to disassemble the sprayer after each batch. In the case of a screened siphon hose, spray the undissolved crystals off between batches.
I notice your water pressure isn’t strong. Do you open your water at a low pressure or all the way? I notice when I use the sprayer and i squeeze gently the water color changes to clear white instead of the fertilizer color. Thanks!

You're exhibiting medial consonant deletion, final consonant deletion, vowel omissions and substitution... you need some serious speech therapy. Only 60=80% intelligible speech.
Very difficult to understand your diction. THumbs down. Maybe redo the audio with more attention to intelligible speech. If this is too difficult, consider speech therapy with an SLP.

Thanks, after being frustrated with multiple failures of the MiracleGro Sprayer, I will give this a try.

Can I ask what people are saying about the miracle grow hose end sprayer? It seems easier as it dissolves easier with less stirring .

Why would the flow rate per mibute matter?

Very helpful, thank you
Excellent video thank you so much!
I use warm water instead of cold. I can mix an entire bag easy.

All the way.
Very helpful! Thanks!
Is a good idea Fertilize if it’s going to rain liquid
If you were to use an entire bag and mix it into a separate container, who much water would you add? thanks.
I believe @stevey119 had the best solution 😉
Does this work well for a Peace Lily?
what is that sediment? Is that just undissolved Miracle Grow? Do you just throw the sediment out?
I use hot water to dissolve my dry nutrients
To me it looks like you used a whole bag not a half?
Nope less than half... but not an exact science for me.
@@SterlingW8 I swear I saw you dumping a whole bag into that container! Did we miss something? You poured in a whole bag!
@@elaineb.9782 Definetely HALF A BAG dilution. I have a large yard and use the rest of the bag on the other part of the yard.
@@elaineb.9782 lol if you watch 3 mins to 4 mins ... it talks about it.
Can you get organic non gmo miracle grow?
Do you even know what GMO is? genetically Modified Organism, organism so it only applies to living things. Keep following the main stream and not real pay attention to the world around you!
GOOGLE GMO - your question is nonsensical.
WAY too much MG for 32 gal!
Absolutely terrible video. Could not stand to listen to even half the video. All the um's, uh's, pauses, made it impossible to listen to.

Check your hearing . He’s totally fine .why not go to a psychiatrist and work on your bad attitude.
Stop being a dickhead and just move on.
Don't listen to him, Sterling. My 67-year-old ears understood you just fine.
