The song is a well arranged one. Burna vocals opened immediately before anyone changes the track & then wizkid slides in nicely, the instrumentals played its course. The hype about Burna's outro went viral so most people played the song to the end. Little wonder it is the highest played track on the album

Burna and Wiz had a song Earlier this year but didn’t Promote it.( Simply because Burna was promoting TAT)They were both on the new South African wave called “Amapiano”. The song is called Sponono and features two other artists(Burna is the main singer tho). Hopefully you can review that one too🔥🔥🔥. That one actually is a vibe/bop Burna also released a new single called “20 10 20” please review that as well
On the Album as a whole and not just this particular song, Production was top notch. My main criticism of Wizkid's music has always been the low effort he puts into the songwriting. A lot of the music would be more intriguing and will engage the listener at an even deeper level if it was well written. What normally happens for me is after getting enough of the melodies after the first few listens, there's nothing else that makes you want to keep going back to the music. Now I'm not expecting him to hone John Legend level writing skills or anything, but at the barest minimum, put words together that can atleast translates an emotion or relay a sentiment properly as opposed to putting random words together just because it rhymes.
You have a point but track one "Reckless" and the Damian Marley track " Blessed" has that content. Then on sound man EP you gave JAM, ELECTRIC VIBES and EASE YOUR MIND
This is chill. The words at 1:03 is awesome. You have to really make music with X Li. His music sorta is similar to Roddy Ricch mixed with a lil bit of High Brothers! He is the lit singer in Canada and he gets vibey in every video! Go see his RUclips out and give him a subscribe! 👉 #DayInTheLifeOfXLi
i don’t agree with this review/reaction at all, i am kind of disappointed because i was looking forward to it. you went into the album having a strong pre conceived expectation on what you wanted the album to sound like, feel like and the overall message of the album, now this isn’t bad but the issue is when you allow this notion you have of what something should be rather than what it is become so predominant, you get to often not judge that thing for what it truly is. in this reaction i got so many “oh no not anymore of this slow tunes they all sound alike” this is wrong, sweet one don’t sound like Essence, True love don’t sound like Gyrate, the only similarity is that they are mid tempo, that shouldn’t be a problem. Judge the music for what it is rather than what you want it to be. you kept going back to the fact that the album should tell a story, when that’s not a criteria for a great album, the album was coherent enough with the themes of Family, feeling at ease, Women and being thankful and that’s enough. i don’t think i can trust your first reaction of a song after this actually. you are too fixated on your own ideas than the artist’s. Clear your mind so you can see what the artiste is trying to do then you can enjoy and react to music better ❤️
Sorry to hear you were disappointed with the review. Just need to address a few things you mentioned; Firstly, my expectations. The first segment of my reviews always provide background/expectations. I draw my expectations from an artistes discography and their most recent singles leading up to the album. If you watch my reviews, my expectations are always never rigid to the point that I don’t recognized what the artiste is trying to do in the moment. My expectations are not on a basis of “If this artistes doesn’t meet the sound I want to hear, therefore it’s a bad album”. Not the case at all. I think your confusion is in the word “expectation”. Think of the segment more as “prediction or projection of what to expect in the album”. If you go back to that segment, my PREDICTION was exactly what happened in the album, if anything, he over-fulfilled that prediction of where he was in his career sonically. I also on several occasions, recognized what Wiz was doing with this album. The only thing that made the album not as great as one would like to hear is the fact that there was almost little to no elements of surprise to keep me engaged throughout the listening session of the album. In terms of songs sounding alike, that’s a subjective take. You can keep me in the same vein of mid tempo sensual songs, but still find a creative way to make each song a ‘moment’, a distinction to make the song unique. And most songs, especially the solo songs lacked in the unique department. Majority of the highlights on the album were the features, and I commended the great selection of the said features. You are by all means, entitled to see this point differently. About story telling; my bar for story telling has always been at an all-time low for pop artists like Wizkid. What I had hoped to hear were the basic elements most pop albums fulfill in this department. and that is in the intro, middle/climax/interlude and outro of the album. So at-least we get a strong sense of the overarching theme of the album and how it ties to the packaging (title/album art). About losing trust in my first reactions; to be fair, one can say you came to the review with your own strong pre-conceived expectations on what you wanted my review to sound like. But seriously, thanks for engaging and letting me know how you felt about my review. I’m honestly now considering changing that title of the segment from expectations to prediction/projections. Wouldn’t be able to see that confusion if you didn’t point it out. So I appreciate you for that.
@@Emman-Owoniyi i really appreciate the fact that you created the time to reply. music is super subjective and his mostly find a way to grow on you regardless. but no i wasn’t expecting a particular reaction from you, your reaction just felt bias at some point because it felt like it was not checking some boxes of what a proper album to you should sound like in my own opinion (afterall you emphasised the sounds not having the proper lagos feel at multiple times in the reaction video thus “why the name made in lagos?” and this was even more evident when Roma came on) i don’t know if that’s true, but it came across as that. but i don’t still agree with the solos not being unique enough yes Sweet one is such a tune! and far different from Reckless and gyrate, even in the range of topics they cover. but to each their own. the halting to see your videos bit was cap lol , you are still one of the better reaction channels we have that reacts to afrobeats and its artistes. once again i really appreciate your response as it puts somethings in perspective. Bless ✌🏼
Love how wiz gave burna the space to do his thing on the record it shows that they both are really good friends no ego
