Russell VanOrder - Don't worry; in addition to these Koreans there are tons of fine craftsman around the world that were diligent in learning their trade.
@lilyomish - this was my favorite part! Fitting the logs to the curve of the stones, perfect harmony 🤗

Wow I thought it was an in ground furnace to heat the whole house.
Anyway an interesting build for a house underneath it.
thank you.
@@woodwood1 - You are Welcome.
This might be a good concept to build before erecting a *stone* house for the *_Radiant Floor Heating_* without all the extra mechanics as is done in here in the USA.
I personally would build a _stone_ house with this below-ground heating due to My 2 wooden houses burned up in 2020 due to another owners house's fire spread to mines. That house was in between both My houses.
So I have a concern of any home of Mine catching fire.
I very much enjoyed watching this video. It is very satisfying to watch a skilled worker, and to learn from them. Thank you.
Thank you for liking my video.
Excellent work my freind, you are a true craftsman in every sense of the word. Keep up the good work. And build a team who want to learn from you, and before you know it, you will be building villages after villages, gated communities where people look after people, because that's what's life is all about, building homes, that are warm waterproof and wind proof. And areas to produce veg, and potatoes and rice. Fruit trees apple tree and so on.
Thank you for watching my video.
Beautiful work. I had no idea that this Ondol room was such an ancient process.
Thanjs for sharing! We need more of these ancient technologies put back into practice.
Thank you for your interest in my video.
like a multi level russian fireplace. large thermal mass
It's not really that ancient. Widely spread in 17th century due to little ice age. Europeans used with furs to endure but Korean used Ondol instead. The problem was it cost abundant amounts wood resources needed. Before Joseon dynasty has fallen by imperial Japan, there were almost no woods left for firewoods.

Thank you for recording the process. It was very enjoyable to watch. The joints on the woodworking is excellent.
In America, we use a heated water system for warming the floors. Plastic tubing snaked back and forth under the flooring. It is ran by electricity. So when the power goes out, so does the warm floor. Your family must be very proud of your hard work.
Thank you for watching my video.
It is a Korea-made, modern development of traditional ondol heating in Korea. Now, every house in Korea is heated with such a system.
However, in Korea, stones are covered over pipelines to preserve heat for a long time. So the floor stays hot for a long time even when the boiler is turned off. ^&~

Wood wood you are such a very hard working man + an honorable one + you take so much pride in yourself and what you do in life. I loved watching your skills in building it from start to finish. Do you keep tract of the hours or days - weeks that this project took you? If so would to share even approximately how long if you don’t mind? I am 76 years old and I live in America and from what I have seen and witnessed in your country workers like yourself still take pride in life doing things the right way like we used to back 50 - 60 years ago because we were proud of what we did and had the pride to do things the right way. If we go back 100 - 150 years back in time the way you cut the joints and hand fit everything is how it was done also. Sure you use some power tools but you also use the old ways combined to do things the right way. Please forgive my long comment and if I didn’t make much sense forgive me I am working on the project my body needs worked on my brain tumor and it doesn’t look like I have much time left to finish other things either. Thank You and Cheers to everyone

Прекрасный комментарий! Желаю Вам здоровья!
From an 80 yr old to Toy: I remember my grandfather building a cottage in a manner similar to this though some nails were used in places. The old-timers had such a pride of workmanship and built for centuries of use. That things are now done “slap-dash” and “good enough” is indicative of the many things lost in our society.
You have now begun a new journey in your life. Sending prayers to you for tranquility during the times ahead.
