David from Port Pirie helped and encouraged me to get licensed and on the air a decade ago. He isn't just in to ATV but he also inspires many potential amateurs in the area.

There was some footage on youtube of when Optus was linking VK4RTV Brisbane ATV repeater to the sydney repeater over satellite but its gone now :(
