I read somewhere this song originated in the 1800s. A young person witnessed it. The man who wrote it sang it at the gallows. It so moved everybody, he was not hung. Almost assuredly a true song.
IMO: This performance equals the two Orchard Park performances later in the 80's. Tempo slightly slower, you can understand why the GD, consistently played this song. Good tune, danceable and they nailed it, maybe every time. Been playing it most mornings for a month, hasn't gotten old, makes life better. Thank you GD and RUclips.
@@NeilYoungNebraska Dont blame yah at all pal. The Song is just so soothing to listen to, especially when feeling down. Bought this live show on cd and loved listeing to it Driving between jobs :D

This the Dead's best performance of Cold Rain & Snow bar none.
Buffalo 1986 farm aid is better.
Augusta ME 10-12-84 is great as well.
83 MSG another.

good wife - good song
The song seasoned with age. I like this better than 10 years prior.
I feel like my love for the Grateful Dead grows as I age.
@@lesisboymangod5837 No bands do it as good as them
Sure, I’ll be the first to comment. 🤙
Cold Drainin’ ❄️ ❄️ ❄️ Snow
The 1986 Buffalo Farm Aid version is the best. Watch it.
I was there but too out of it to remember any of the actual concert.🙄🙄
Think caterpillar-antennae sunglasses space helmet... cookoo!... Train-rides...
Bobby is to rhythm players what Jerry is to lead players IMO.
Can one find shelter from the chilly winds at Bertha's house?
