Scott should have capitalized on the idea that Foxy was the only good machine out of all of them. You notice that Foxy simply leans through the door while all of the others charge you, its almost like Foxy is trying to talk to you but due to a voicebox malfunction, his voice doesn't work and all we hear is his scream which causes a heart attack to the player from the fear and shock being instant. Foxy never actually tries to charge you in the first game, but you can hear him rushing the door, not you which im sure would add to the fear factor of the moment. Scott should have implemented certain moments where Foxy gives the player a warning as a hint to the next animatronic to attack and if you catch all of the hints throughout the first 4 nights, there would be a special cinematic at the end of the 5th night that sees Foxy protecting the night guard. Maybe blocking Freddy or Bonnie or Chica as the guard escapes to the morning sun. It would be amazing to see the different personalities appear in the animatronics, hence why Foxy doesn't want to kill the guard and tries to warn him instead. Withered Foxy can be the same Foxy after the fire and Shadow/Phantom Foxy can be the childs spirit that appears similar to Golden Freddy, like the Phantom appears and watches you idle and unmoving, like a guardian spirit watching over the player with a small chance to appear when you get attacked and affects the animatronic the same way the Phantoms effect you with the blinking and temporary loss of sight. Friendly Foxy would be a really cool addition.
but that would defeat the entire purpose of FNAF, Foxy is presumed to be one of the 5 children that William Afton has killed, and he wants revenge just like all the others.
