  • mrtrailer.com/... At 2023 NATDA convention I found the best conventional trailer lock from Altor, the Icon, that MrTruck has seen in 22 years of looking for one. It's beefy, designed to stop power tools like drills, Sawzall, grinders etc. from taking away your trailer with all it's tools, saddles, ATV's and supplies. Having a trailer stolen is bad, but think of all the cargo you have to re-buy and the time you loose restocking your trailer. Then filling out insurance forms and police reports and explaining to your spouse that you should have bought an Icon trailer lock. We'll get one soon and do our own tests and long term review. #trailering mrtrailer.com/... www.natda.org/... store.mrtruck.... mrtruck.com/

I'd like to see one twice as big. 40-50lbs, truly max. This is awesome tho and tops my list for locks

Great lock. Do they have one for Australian ball hitch trailer couplers?

Not sure, their website link is in the description

Great lock but what stops the thief from simply unbolting the whole hitch from the trailer tongue? A simple drive-by will let them know what size they need and then they can stop by Tractor Supply and pick up a hitch and two wrenches. This would stop an "opportunity" thief but so would any cheaper ball lock.

Many couplers are welded on. Many ways to lock the channel type of coupler. I'll review one of them too.

@@MrTruckTV Maybe but some sort of tamper proof bolts/pins would be a good addition.

Spot weld the nut on the bolt for the bolt on couplers

combine this with a motion-detecting camera on your trailer and you have plenty of time to react to a potential thief.

Great quality lock, but it's too expensive if you have several trailers and it is very heavy. Yes I know it's cheaper than replacing your trailer after it's stolen, I get that, but the price point is terrible. If you just have one trailer to lock up it would be fine, but if you have to spend thousands to lock up several trailers the price is out of reach for most people.

Mike, do you think the best lock available will be the cheapest lock? The cheap locks are the ones according to law enforcement that are on the trailers that get stole the most, right after no locks at all.

    • @mountaindune83

The cheapest locks of course are not good at all, but when you price your product way out of reach for most people that's not a good business decision. I was at the NATDA show this year and viewed the same demo from that rep. The lock is crazy heavy and hundreds of dollars. Just not practical. @@MrTruckTV

Many horse trailers, tool trailers, car trailer, RV conventional trailers and toy haulers easily can be over $50,000. Commercial trailers like dump trailers are over $15,000. Plus tools, saddles, ATV's etc. Plus the time you loose. I think the ICON lock is a valuable tool.
