Writing is ultimately a skill and is considered by many alongside music to be the highest form of art. So as long as the arts remain; so shall writing/literature. The mediums will change in which people consume it-but the practice will remain for a long time to come I feel.

I can't help but think novels will become extinct soon after our generation dies. The audience was shocked to hear Amis doesn't watch television.
