Killed all 11 from the away team but none from the home team?? Shit I'm starting to think it was witchcraft too
Way to suspicious
Chase Hilyer It could have to do with the shoes the home team had. If the shoes were rubber and no metal then they would have been protected from the lightning. If the other team had metal dubbs (the things under the shoes that give them grip) then that could have been a conducter for the lightening. (sorry for my spelling, english is my second language)
KasperochSiri That's a very good point, I never thought about that. Also, I obviously didn't actually believe it was witchcraft, that was just an exaggeration to emphasize how crazy that coincidence is
Chase Hilyer well, you never now. Could have been witchcraft 😜
Do you think that less than a cm of rubber is going to make a difference to a bolt of lightning that just jumped kilometers through the air. Nope it dosen't make a difference at all.

R.I.P Roland and Antonio
Dale Earnhardt and Ayrton Senna. Two of the most greatest motorsport racers in history. They will be always remember and their legacy lives on. McLaren released the Senna as an tribute to the racing driver in 2018.
Also Colin McRae of WRC
Fact: Roland Ratzemberger (don't know how to spell) died a day before Senna died (30th April - 1st May of the same year 1994)
Grant Adcox, Dale Earnhardt, and so many others had such tame crashes, yet they each died, it's painful to watch because you would never think they died, you would just belive they will miss a few races and be back in a few weeks. They never did come back
MotoGP legend Marco Simoncelli's 2011 death at Sepang was just as devastating too MotoGP.
Not only the fact that he died but how he died is what made it so horrifying, while pack racing late in the lap near the end of the race his bike highsided itself and he was thrown directly into the path of a following rider who couldn't avoid him resulting in marco's head being caught between the front wheel and engine farring of the following bike which crushed his helmet/skull severed his spine and sent his body 20 feet in the air.

And Henri Toivonen and ofc Emiliano Sala😢
Greg Moore is one of the greatest too
Anthoine Hubert too
It hurt for me to lose Senna and Dale Earnhardt, but the rest of the list is tragic and you can only hope that measures were put in place to prevent future mishaps and deaths.
69hemihead im glad to see someone concerned for him specially in the war F1 vs Nascar
To be honest I stopped following NASCAR since Dale died, the playoff system, and the car of tomorrow being rejected by fans even though it performed better and was safer.
69hemihead I still think of Earnhardt. I haven't watched racing nowhere near as much since he passed.
Dale's death was a huge event. I'm from the other side of the world and I know about it.
Fuck Earnhardt, he CAUSED deaths with his stupid anti-HANS device bullshit.
So many f1 drivers were completely forgotten. Jules Bianchi died while I was driving back to my house. I cried for hours and hours upon end and still he doesn't get the respect he ever deserved
Bruhticus Don't forget Ronnie Peterson!
Bruhticus I woke up to that news. I cried for so long. He will be missed so much
So you mean, is that in a top ten video, they should fit in all the F1 drivers who lost their lives on the track? I am not trying to be an (insert bad word), but a list like this have to cover a wide array of sports. And in that perspective i would agree that Ayrton Senna was one of the fatalities that shook the sport the most, at least in later years.
When you make a list like this, there is always gonna be more accidents left out than included. To make an example: In Isle of Man TT, you could have at least one person on this list for every year the event has been held. Further more, there were no mentioning of boats, neither sailing or motor. A lot of people who have lost their lives in tragic ways out at sea.
The only way to not "completely forget" someone would be by following the practice of "None mentioned, None forgotten" as many countries practice when talking about WW2.
Bruhticus I was playing NHL video games when my dad told me that Bianchi died :(

+Ralfjones why is that a shitty thing to say? I obviously think it's sad that they died, but they did it perusing their passion, and I see that as a way to shed a bit of positive light on a man or woman's legacy
+Ralfjones wow, get out of here triggered shit.
i actually agree with you
You can't rate deaths...
RPM NASCAR issa list
RPM NASCAR they aren't rating them
Adam Wilson they are, rating them 1-10.
Sure you can, burning to death is a solid 1/10 and dying in your sleep is about 9 or 10
RPM NASCAR you do realize rating something in a top 10 list doesn't have to be best and worst. It can be a top ten on the severity of tragedy, impact it had on the public, or the significance it had on changing a sport. I don't think watch mojo was distasteful with this video. I'm not big on sports so I found this quite educational as I know many people looked up to these sports men and they lost there lives doing something they love.
SENNA the greatest loss of all time.EVER.
The sad thing about Ayrton Senna's death is, once he crossed the finish line he was going to fly the Austrian flag to honor Roland Ratzenberger, the guy who died the day before in the qualifying rounds.
Ronald Ratzenberger's death is always forgotten In light of what happened the next day and it's sad to see it that way. Yeah Ratzenberger wasn't the greatest he was still really good. The man won Le Man's the previous year for heaven's sake. The deaths of these two were equally influential in the FIA spending millions of research and development of better safety regulations and their implementation, yet one of them is always forgotten
@@aayushkaushik8831 Indeed. That's why one of the important people in racing went to his funeral instead of Senna's (would've gone to both had it not been for scheduling issues). He wanted to show someone cared about him in the end and that he matered.
That just speaks volumes about Senna's character. Senna had his rivalry with Prost but both men were on fast track of becoming close friends after Prost before Senna deaths.
That first one was so avoidable. Why did a seasoned boxer have to keep hitting him after he was knocked out?! That’s fucked

That shook many people. I was talking to a friend in Afghanistan about it & we were both so sad about it. It still amazes me how weve all seen worse hits & there is no death or injury.
Unfortunately the list in inaccurate, it says that Bill Masterton is the only player in the NHL to die as a direct result of an injury during a game.
In 1937 Montreal Canadien’s forward Howie Morenz broke his leg during a game and he died shortly thereafter due to him getting blood poisoning, his jersey was retired by the Canadiens, the first time that had ever been done in pro sports
“During the game”
That’s wrong, he died 3 months after, and it wasn’t from a direct result of his injury.. His health worsened, and he died..
@@Goldy02 and most on this didnt? alot died in hospital later on, not there and then but they were included
@@richardhobbs7360 He died because of a fall when he was on his way to the bathroom, an embolism caused him to collapse, from a blood clot in his leg, he also suffered from depression, and had a nervous breakdown.. It’s unfortunate and this entire list was unfortunate, such a sad list. But, His death wasn’t from a direct on ice incident, he died because the treatments for blood clots back then were minimal, he suffered a blood clot in the hospital and that’s what caused him to unfortunately pass..
While the leg injury was a reason it happened, it wasn’t a direct cause of death from the injury.. He just suffered the worst possible scenario with his injury.. Sorry, this isn’t something to argue over but that’s my side, it was in the 1930s..
No, technically he didn’t die from the injury. His health worsened over time and he had a nervous breakdown and that caused his death. That’s different from what happened to Masterton.

I think Dan Wheldon should have made this list. He wasn't the most popular driver and had a few spats with his competitors but he was respected and revered. He was also dedicated to the sport of IndyCar, and took the 2011 season off to work with IndyCar and Dallara to design a brand new chassis intended to be safer for drivers, by altering aerodynamic elements to ensure the cars don't take off when they collide. He entered (and won) the Indy 500 in May but spent the rest of the season working on the new car. Ironically and tragically, he returned for the season finale at Las Vegas, the final race with the existing chassis, and was killed in an accident on lap 11 when his car took off in a chain-reaction crash. It wasn't the ghastliest of crashes but it was fiery and notable, and the cruel irony of his death, for me, warrants a spot on this list.

Imagine your death being a “honorable mention”
Right.. how is dying an honorable mention
I was just a kid but my dad was watching the race when Dale died. Will never forget that. Didn't even realize how important it was to racing.
I don't think there should be Honorable mentions here: because all of the deaths are tragic, specially if it is an accident

Dale who?
Ralph Dale Earnhardt, Sr. (April 29, 1951-February 18, 2001); Dale ran his first NASCAR race at Charlotte in 1975, but got his big break in 1979 driving for Rod Osterlund, with whom Dale won his first championship in 1980, the only driver to win rookie of the year and his first championship in back-to-back seasons. In 1981, Dale left Osterlund's team to race for Bud Moore, racing for Moore's team from 1981-1983, before jumping to Richard Childress Racing in 1984, racing for Childress from then until Dale's sudden death at Daytona in 2001. Many observers believe that Daytona was not only Dale's Achilles Heel, but also his Waterloo. Dale won 34 races at the famed track, but only three of those victories, two Pepsi (Now Coke Zero) 400s in 1990 and 1993, and one Daytona 500 in 1998, were points-paying victories. Sadly, on February 18, 2001, while Dale was racing for third and protecting the lead of Michael Waltrip and Dale, Jr. (his son), Dale was turned, veered off the track momentarily, then shot back on the track, collected Ken Schrader, and both men hit the wall. When Dale hit the wall, his head went forward into the steering wheel, then turned sideways, fracturing his skull, killing him instantly.

the most gruesome thing about Sennas death is that the news has been kept secret long enough to allow the race to come to his end, with scenes like former french driver Jacques Laffitte claiming that he was joking with the nurses in the ambulance just after a shot of Senna lying on the track with a puddle of blood all around his helmet.

Sonicparty64 Oh! I completely forgot the METAL! It's a number one cause of deaths involving lightning strikes. I think it is a bit tasteless to rate someone's death.
Senna, Earnhardt, Gathers, Owen Hart are ones I remembered the most, and yet, we now have Jules Bianchi and Hubert added on to this list
10:38 you mean THE greatest driver. What a legend, wish I could've lived to see him race
Here in Brazil there's a whole highway with his name
The greates driver would still be Jimmy Clark. Fight me
World champion is a amazing title to earn and special
Owen Hart's death was very tragic
I agree
Owen Hart is on the list...
+Matt Erney did you even watch the video mate Owen Hart is there
+Matt Erney Eddie Guerrero died on a weekend...he wasn't competing...
sport. not tv show.
Bad, sad stuff.Hope that Le Mans tragedy is never topped.
It seems like that flying debris - that flat hunk of metal, was literally cutting through the air like a circular saw and spinning at the exact perfect angle and height to have killed so many people. That's like hitting the unlucky lottery. Hopefully, a one in a trillion event for many thousands of years more.
angriella how was there not nets there?
Mercedes didn't race for a bloody long time after that
@@davemckenna8591 not just that. They withdrew from the race that they could have won.
@@jenbcamping you're absolutely right. The whole front of the car disintegrated on impact and the front axle and bonnet flew straight into the crowd, literally slicing through them, or crushing them. Over 80 people died. Most were decapitated by the bonnet.
So sad you guys forgotten:
* Marc-Vivien Foe (football player from Cameroon) the captain of his country team that died in the field in a FIFA Condeferation's Cup match;
* Miklos Feher, a hungarian football player who died in a game of his team, the portuguese side Benfica;
* Serginho, a brazilian football player who collapsed to death during a game against Sao Paulo FC in 2004
Thank you for including the death of Phillip (PHIL) Hughes. Vale the great PHIL Hughes, a true up and comer in international cricket.
thank you for mentioning owen hart. one of the best and one of the most tragic deaths in sports history
Rip. Allan Simonsen who died at Le Mans 2013 😢
louise pedersen rip all people, not just the driver
#TheBrittyBulldogGamerBoy i know, but Allan Simonsen is a Dane like me so I just thought about him, also I'm not the only one here going "rip one person" 😓
louise pedersen yea I know but I ain’t gonna reply to everyone, not just you, I just don’t have time to reply to every commenter lol 😂
"Honorable Mentions" in regards to a list of sporting deaths is some real bad oversight.
I was watching the game where Phil Hughes died with my dad, i was 10 at the time and i knew it was seriously bad. He just dropped, but it made it so much worse (which shouldn’t be possible), when Michael Clarke spoke at his funeral because they were best friends and after he retired in 2015, he said it was hard to keep playing without Phil and should’ve retired in 2014😔 I cant imagine how guilty Sean Abbott must feel
Gilles Villeneuve
jules bianchi
He died doing what he loved, but damn it looked like a rough death... you can only hope his end was quick.
Yes i was looking live on TV when it happens.
He is one of the greatest formula 1 driver of all time. There is even a lot of people who say we was better than is son who finished first in the points.
@@alexisgirard9376 Gilles Villeneuve, was a suicide driver, thats why he was so spectacular. His end wondered to nobody. He died in trainings not even qualifiyng or race !!!! He drove with no brain !!!
I cry every time I see dale earnhardt on here somewhere
Deborah idiot he's in NASCAR
Deborah oh fuck my bad
@@JohnWhite-uo3tf lol she was talking Aryton Senna being a hero in Formula One as Dale was a hero in NASCAR
R.I.P everyone on this list :(
11:30 ok now that’s sick, that they have Dale doing the interview about a crash right after we get his death by crash wow
I remember the dale earnhardt crash vivid. And watching it 15 years later, still puts a pit in my stomach
I knew Senna would be one of the top 3
I'm surprised Jules Bianchi wasn't in this list as he's the first F1 driver to die since Senna and Ratzenburger
Justin Wilson and Hillsborough should be in this list
also wheldon with the DW12
+Andrew Benagh and what happened to the 1996 Olympic bombings and 1999 indycar accident in Charlotte NC
+Greg Ayala and also what about the 1985 heysel disaster
They ruled out terrorism. They also seemed to be focusing more on the athletes themselves dying which rules out things like the 1999 IndyCar crash and Heysel stadium disaster of '85. Same for Hillsborough.
Justin Wilson and Jules Bianchi could have made the list though, especially if they end up implementing the new "halo" safety system to the F1 cars or changes to IndyCar following Wilson's death.
