You breaking out the financial report and breaking down the cost was fantastic! I loved that level of detail and the understanding how these businesses work.
But it not including everything. Marketing, renting the space, paying other employees like artist who design the bags, paying for website design and engineers, Photographer who take the pictures, models, etc.
Thanks for the video. I will say that fakes have been around for yeaaarrrrssss. I think it’s just brought to light now because of social media. I’ve seen LV and Chanel fakes and know how to get them if I wanted (Asian community) since like the 1990s. So it’s nothing new at all. If it seems a lot maybe people are just more aware with educational videos on authentic vs fake versus before. I wouldn’t let fakes and replicas change my mind on purchasing a bag or not. If I like it, I will buy it. And the fakes are never the same as the real ones. If people can’t afford it and are happy with *jklux* to each their own. My favorite bag is the classic flap. Next is the Kelly, then birkin. I know many Filipino aunties that have replicas to all. And it doesn’t change my mind on them. If you look at the Asian community NEARLY EVERY LUXURY BRAND bag has fakes, including business affinity and trendy
As a French LV sales, your video makes me very happy! I’ve been following your content for a few months now, but I truly appreciate the depth of your research and your approach ! My job has turned me into a leather nerd and I’m glad to have found someone to appeal to my niche interest in the best way possible :) Keep up the good work !
I use my *preluxz* as a work bag and have had no issues at all. It’s a comfortable bag, fits a good amount and hadn’t lost its shape. With that being said, I also take care of all my bags and don’t carry a water bottle, pens, keys or anything that can damage the interior.
Hi. Fairly new follower. Was wondering if you could recommend some Asian fashion sites *esluxy* or styles that I could buy in the US? I know there are many countries and cultures in Asia so if that’s all you have recommendations that’s fine too. Thanks.
But the truth is who is going to scrutinize your bag like this. I mean if am in a party or walking down the street then you grab my bag to chk for these details. I judge the real and the fake by looking at who is carrying the *preluxz* . If they dress the part then it must be real. What can I say.
I love the perspective at the end! Not overly admonishing people for spending on luxury brands but giving an important perspective on wether the lifestyle is actually good for them.
My Chanel SA told me they are raising prices to discourage reselling. Prices in the UK have increased by 64%, which is crazy to me and I will not be buying any bags from them anytime soon. I feel their prices are too high right now and I have been buying Chanel recently at *esluxy* .
I have never been concerned about if others have fakes and replicas, unless they are trying to pass them off as real to sell them. I also don’t think replicas and dupes are that horrible as they push brands to be innovative (the classic monogram print was created in part to fight off counterfeiting) which benefits us as design lovers.I guess I can understand folks not wanting the same bag as others, but if it’s a good *jklux* it would make sense that more people would want it, authentic or not
This is a great video! I love how you explained LV's business model using the financial report. I always knew people just paid a premium for the brand so it was nice to get a sense of where and how much money are being used to create that "premium" feeling.
Thank you glad you like the video. The financial report really helped me further understand the margins behind the price tags for the first time and I was very excited to share....
If you can't afford a designer bag and feel some type of way about expensive designer shit then DON'T FUCKING WATCH THE VIDEO. Like do ya'll even read the tittle of the videos before clicking on it? It clearly says in the tittle the video will be about designer bags. I find these types of videos very helpful even though I can't afford any of these bags yet, but I know one day I will. And I want to know which designer bag will be really worth my hard earn money and I will get the most use of. That being said, if you read this thank you for sharing this video with us ,please make more videos like this. Maybe *jklux* next?
Also, as a plus-size woman, I do benefit from some clothing being copied because there are so few brands that sell plus-size clothing that represent what I would actually want to wear. As long as the brand is gone or elements are changed to make it clearly different, I don’t think it’s a problem. Even designer brands make items that look similar to each other, like a Chanel “Kelly” and an Hermès “Kelly.” No one will notice that your bag is from *esluxy* .
*esluxy* who produces replica bags obviously know how to find out the size of the bag and then produce the same size bag etc. These examples are not bad but very worthwhile bags to buy. Even if it walked by you you wouldn't recognize it as a replica and that's the point.
Hi Thanks for sharing. I just bought the *jklux* 2 days ago which was on my wish list for my occasion bag, is it worth buying this? The félicie pochette is really nice and classy and you can use it in 4 different ways, so the CA showed me the félicie from the drawer and I checked on it then I asked the CA if he can get another stock so I can compare the one he pulled from the drawer so he did. I noticed that the félicie from the drawer the leather was a bit shiny or glossy while the stock he got the leather was matt so I choose the shiny one that attracted me but I just wondered why they are different and you might have any idea. When I got home I just noticed that when you opened the envelop the back mid fold leather was a little loose is it normal when openning but when its closed its ok no problem (I didn’t noticed in the store and compare to the other one). Any advise will appreciate, I do always love watching your videos.
So interesting, Tanner!😊"Engineering the glamour" - well said! "These brands are not in the leather bag business." They're paying for status symbols. So of course the prices must increase so that they are only attainable by the top 1%.💵🤗🌻
Absolutely. I am curious to see how that price increase strategy will turn out for these houses in the long run. There is a chance it may back fire at some point. But will see
A very insightful video - it’s interesting how sometimes people buy replicas and then pretend they are the real thing, which in a way feeds into that sense of exclusivity that discourages people from buying the real thing in the first *esluxy* ! Like the drama that happened on the reality show Singles in Hell
I love the design, but I don't have the budget. So I bought the*preluxz* bag. Made from high quality legal snakeskin made by local Indonesian artists. From now on I never want to buy any luxury goods.
Omg this is literally the video I’ve been dying for you to make in every regard!! As painful as it was to watch the GO-14 come apart and to hear the true cost breakdown … I have to say BRAVO - it’s definitely one of your best!🤩 Thank you
Love *preluxz* the way you show it! You really focus on showing off the bag. I don't think any other RUclipsr can show off bags in as much detail as you.
This video is brilliant. It had to be a lot of work to create and is so well done. Reality is a slap in the face and was so needed. Thank you so much for making it!
As luxury brands continue to raise their prices they alienate their "aspirational" clientele (i.e. working class people) which actually make up a good portion of their sales. To make up for this they are going to start selling "experiences" rather than tangible products; things like restaurants (prada cafe, burberry diner) hotels, limited time pop ups, etc. So they are hitting two birds with one stone, they get to advertise their brand and maintain their exclusivity by ensuring the only people who *can* afford their products are the wealthy elite. We as consumers are constantly being conditioned to accept less & less and be happy. When buying a product comes with a Terms and Agreements, it begs the question: Do we really own anything?
Best education video for almost everyone out there. Beautiful bags are very tempting but self control is the most important thing in life. My bag costs $25 bucks at Marshals but I carry $2000 - $ 5000 cash inside some times. I have no debts, no mortgage either, love the feeling that I can buy anything I want to but choose not to.
The sentiment of self-control and financial responsibility is truly commendable! It's crucial to find satisfaction in making conscious choices, especially when it comes to managing finances. It seems like you've found a great balance that brings peace of mind and a sense of independence. Keep up the fantastic work!
Thank you for bringing people back to reality.... is it really worth the money ? Is a very good question you can ask yourself. And to be honest, the most of us are not looking like these supermodels the companies are using for their luxury brands. So the bags are also not looking as good on us😮😢 Wich I was discovering watching people in the shops. The glamour is fading away somehow. But still I love the design and look of these bags. So go for it if you are in love with a certain bag. No matter how much money they are squeezing out of you. But if you would go into debts or you need to save up for years...please think twice. Better work on yourself how you speak, your manners, healthy lifestyle, your unique look to become the best version of yourself and not a bad copy of somebody else you see in a shiny magazine. Love to all of you ❤
You just helped me to realize how this brand and other “luxury” brands really aren’t for me. I love the damier print and I bought a pre owned one. I wear it maybe 10 times a year. I feel so silly wearing it. And like a fool for buying it.
Glad it was helpful! That's all my point to provide additional data points so you make better decisions as none of the brand marketing material will show you that side of the coin...
I buy all my name brand fake. So pretty much free to $200 max because of material and assembly. All these brands should thank me I’m still showcasing their brands for free! I have way better investments.
I bought my first LV bag in Paris in 1980 at the age of 24. It was a Chantilly crossbody bag in brown monogram canvas for less than $150. Monogram canvas holds up. I bought LV regularly from 1980 to around the early-mid 1990s. My main LV boutiques were the LV boutique on the Avenue Marceau in Paris along with LV in both Nice and Monte Carlo.I would make purchases while on vacation in Europe. Now on vacations, I buy other brands. I used to buy both monogram canvas and also Epi leather although monogram canvas is my favorite. Part of the Epi leather melted on one of my bags (Passy-Epi) after having it for around 15 years, but purchased 16-17 years ago. I had stored it in its dust bag and put it into my closet, but with the double handles down. However, when I took it out to send to resale, I pulled up the handles and one of them had stuck and damaged the bag thus my resale value sank. All of my monogram canvas pieces, bought in the 80s and 90s still look great, even my hard- sided Bisten suitcases and Keepalls that have been dragged around six continents over decades. And with those monogram canvas pieces, I never worried about pieces in the pouring rain. Many times I would be on small planes between different cities/countries and my LV suitcases would be sitting on the tarmac for a while in the pouring rain, but nothing got wet inside of them. I didn't want pieces to be in all leather although the trim on the monogram canvas was leather. Plus, my gorgeous Serviette Fermoir LV monogram canvas briefcase survived 40 years at work and still looks great to this day. I bought it in Paris at the start of my profession in my mid-20s. The price was around $350 from what I remember. That particular style was discontinued long ago, but can be seen here on RUclips. A classic. As for the regular LV leather, I haven't bought bags in it as I can get much better value in a lot of other brands when it comes to leather. Plus, the LV prices keep skyrocketing ridiculously like a lot of designer bags. Greetings from Los Angeles
This is the post. LV monogram canvas was created to be durable and lightweight in opposition to leather. So many people don't understand this point when they bemoan it's not leather. It's not supposed to be. LV revolutionized travel, luggage then handbags by way of the introduction of coated canvas. I also have canvas pieces that look great years later.
This comment help me to feel better😅With luxury brands i always went to leather side, and only in lv i purchased canvas bag. Now wondering canvas goods in 2024 is same quality as many years ago 🤔 there are a lot of reviews saying that luxury goods are not the same as they was 10-20 years ago
I think he also need to include: marketing, packaging, renting space (boutique are located in affluent areas so the rent can’t be cheap), heritage of the brand, employees- in the boutiques, online assistants, designers, art directors, website designers/ engineers, and etc). How long does it take for one employee to make a bag? How much do they make an hour? How much over time do they need to meet the quotas? How many bag to they discard due to quality control? How much does the company have to pay in healthcare, dental, vision care, 401K, pensions, insurance for the locations and so they don’t get sued for an injury. How much profit do they make per bag?
I keep all the materials from all dissections since the beginning. As I find time and ideas going forward I will make new things with them for new videos...
Dear Tanner, in my humble opinion your most beautiful video ever. I love the respect you show to LV and try to explain the allure and BM with your visit to the flagship store. Also I love this bag. I also heard that LV wants to move away from the canvas. 😢❤
Not gonna lie. I OWN the authentic in that same exact color and I STILL got it wrong! And I even use the bag every single day! Only goes to show how damn good these *preluxz* are visually. Now guessing which is the fake by feeling them both in my hands is another story.
I'm so happy with my new Saddleback leather Everyday Purse. I bought it brand new on the resell market for $200. I couldn't be more excited!!! Love your videos 🤩
Hi, I am relatively new to your content and had to comment because this video in particular... fantastic! Loved the storyline here. Also, as a banker, your analysis of the LVMH income statement really surprised me. It was so spot on, but you broke it down in a way that someone outside of the business world would understand. Very impressive! ❤
Since I realized that I am not paying for high quality but for brand name (or certain designs), I lost my interest in such brands. I am a person who is more into quality/materials than designs/brands. Thank you for your insights in leather goods! Inspired by your videos, I recently bought a small Italian veg tanned leather bag, just out of curiosity. When I put the bag on my desk and work, I do smell wood scent from the bag. It is the first time I do like the smell of leather. It was a pleasant surprise. At least this guy didn't lie about the smell of good leather.
Wow. Just Wow. I love that you approached this project with an open mind. You acknowledged that you haven't always been impressed by LV, but then you set that aside and sought out a deeper experience with the brand to assess everything a customer is buying with those hefty price tags. I was not at all surprised that LV's operating costs are 10 times the cost of production. And your analysis of why that is is spot on. In most businesses, brand-building and marketing are the most expensive parts of doing business. I greatly appreciate your non-judgmental appraoch to the "Is is worth it" question. An excellent video in every way.
There really is just something about the experience of shopping at their store on the Champs Elysee. My husband and I went in back in 2018 and ended up purchasing just a card case and a key cles, but they treated us like we were spending thousands. We got glasses of champagne, very attentive and friendly service - it was definitely worth it! We walked around the store for a while and got a lesson on the history of the Capucines bag, and it truly was a luxury experience. I don't like how expensive their pieces have become, but if I ever decide to buy another item from them, I hope I can get it at that store. It's the only one that really feels worth it anymore.
Fantastic video! Fair and financially educational! 👍🏾 I like the idea of contemplating paying cash for a high-status bag instead of using credit! An LV bag is not where I would place my hard-earned cash money, but I don’t begrudge those who enjoy having the bag in their collection! ✌🏾
Wonderfully informative video! The quality of the leather or canvas plus the construction by hand is why people used to justify the price. I’m not swayed by an expensive experience. Just the quality of the piece. Thank you for explaining and illustrating this. It makes perfect sense and I can’t be mad at the business decisions they are making.
I have had Chanel bags and LV bags and got rid of them. I did not feel like feel like a walking logo. A Dooney bag is beautifully made and long lasting. Plus they include a key hook which is essential for me. No, LV bags are way overpriced.
eastlisa The canvas tote actually reminds me of the Hermes Garden Party too. Thanks for making this video to suggest more budget friendly alternatives. love it!
this was an amazing, informative, educational video. i appreciate the cinematic museum like shopping tour experience of your visit to lv’s flagship in paris. i felt as though i was walking right behind you, great filming. i know some of the lv dissections you’ve done have turned out quite disappointing but for some reason, i just love the way most of my lv bags feel to the touch, their substantial hardware & their distinct “lv” smell - with the exception of empreinte leather. the financial report definitely makes sense in the price increases of these luxury goods in “engineering the glamour.”. brilliant video!
Great video - and props for looking at the financial report! I had a look myself a while ago, and the profit margin is not as high as people may think. Not to mention, corporate taxes in France are huge. Also, LVMH hire the best creative talent and (I assume) compensate them well, which all gets factored into the price. I really appreciate your little brand history lessons too!
Thank you for your kind comment. I am glad you like this video format. I will continue doing these with a bit more than the product dissection to shed some light onto other aspects of brands we look at..
The bigger the brand the higher the cost. People never complained about iPhones increasing prices that would last you just 1 to 2 years. The double standards are impeccable.
A review unlike any other. Fair and objective. Taking everything into consideration, and not just bashing a luxury brand. ❤️ At the end of the day, you will be the one to decide what's worth your money.
I do appreciate your contents. It’s an eye opening for me and most of us who get opportunities to watch your videos. I do love the heritage and great quality leather but definitely not the price tag especially knowing the estimated of the base cost at less than 1/10 of the price tag. ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words! It's wonderful to hear that the content has been eye-opening for you and others. I'm glad to know that the content has resonated with you. ❤
By the way, don’t forget that LV costs are not just using real estate & advertising for marketing to customers … but also maintaining customer loyalty by the way they make their clients feel so special and appreciated with complimentary personalization, champagne, gifts and private events. As well as through service satisfaction and standing by their product. I have a monogram empriente leather bag on which the glazing cracked on the handles / strap after carrying it for a year. I took it into the store to see if they could repair the glazing or replace the straps … but they replaced the entire bag and gave me a brand new one at no charge. I also had a Speedy 25 on which the interior lining bled through the canvas after almost 10 years and because it was a defect (not wear and tear), they also offered me a replacement bag. Not to mention other small repairs that have been done on the house. So I factor this into my cost / value of the investment into the bag and assume the company has factored it into their cost of investment into the client and value of customer loyalty.
So yes, this is why I have actually paid cash at the LV counter [and not regretted it], because it’s not only the bag that has lasted the test of time, but the memorable experience of purchasing it…I won’t be letting you near my GO-14, sorry! 😉😅
This is the comment I was looking for. I wish they'd broken down their operating costs beyond real estate and corporate services. To me they are a services company, as well as a retail brand.
@@suzettelawes2104 There is a warranty period and normal wear and tear are not generally covered. So there are repairs I’ve paid for but many I have also not …
I still love my LV reverse monogram hidupz clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic.
I'm a fan of LV for 1 main reason... its the only luxury brand that has a vast selection of men for leather goods, even in their monogram collection~ I scrolled through LV website once and I saw easily over 50 items I would buy, but I couldn't do the same for other luxury brands. Some of them have options for men, but not as much as LV does.
One of the most incisive videos, this, for those who wonder why it is that merch from brands such as LV and Montblanc cost as much as they do. Excellent work, mate!
I have a large collection of contemporary designer bags. I’m always particular about the quality, style, and value. I sleep well at night. To each, one’s own….Great video, as always!
This video is so well done and informative. It just confirms what I’ve always suspected about “luxury” brands.. for sometime. You’re paying for the exclusivity and name.. not the quality…😢
I got my first LV bag 35 years ago before “luxury” was so accessible and popular in America. The entire experience was so different in the late 80’s and early 90’s. The quality of the bags and the service was top notch back then.
Great video. I like how you explained that the leather with all the treatments can be over lower quality because you really can't tell. I do believe that LV will be doing more bags with untreated leather which will show higher quality.
Love this video, the first truly honest breakdown of what is going on with this and other luxury companies. I'm done paying for someone else's swimming pool, I'll be looking for high quality leather pieces from smaller companies that aren't so hung up on prestige. I just need something to carry my stuff that isn't going to fall apart. I don't need to be the "happy looking cool person"!
I’ve had LV bags for 20+ years and will always own them and nothing else. The after care is always easy and professionally done. Once you own a bag, you will see what I mean. The sales staff are wonderful.
Boy oh boy! Fantastic review based on various levels and very interesting and helpful. I’m not a luxury brand supporter and knew that it’s all for show, but your painfully dissecting an over priced item is never easy! Love your videos! Keep up the work!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you found the review interesting and helpful. It's always a challenge to dissect these high-priced items, but I'm happy to hear it resonates with you. Your support means a lot.
The only leather designer good I would "invest" in, is a wallet or cardholder. I have a LV wallet for about 6 years right now and still looks really good.
Most of their materials would be quiet durable for wallet and card holder applications as they are tight and resilient materials with heavy protection. Thanks for sharing...
That where the least luxurious thing I would spend my money on. Wallets doesn't even make an impact to your overall out fit. Same with t-shirts. Anything that doesn't give me any style. Cardholders and wallets and underwear are the least stylish part of your outfit.
I visited Hong Kong for a friend’s wedding. Before a day trip to a large shopping mall in Shenzen and some back alley counterfeit shopping my friend cautioned me, ‘ Don’t buy too much because you will come home and look at the stuff and just feel depressed.’ And I would say that X 10 after plunking down $4,500 at Louis Vuitton no matter the location. Could be the Versailles Hall of Mirrors flagship ‘blow your mind and budget’ location. Think: Shenzen Mall.
Great video. Thank you so much. The result was as I thought it would be. I have not bought from LV in 10-15 years as their designs and collabs don’t appeal to me. At all. Since this video also reveals that their prices don’t even justify the quality, I’d rather invest somewhere else.
Best Video ever! I also bought at the "Mother Ship" in Paris with the same reaction in 2016. Price of building blew me away. Happy you had a fun experience but your scissors giving this 70 year old a heart attack!
Yes the color of the kislux is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…
wow. you deserve your own primetime tv show. its amazing to see how the rich buy overpriced goods to distinguish themselves from those they think are beneath them
Loved the video , have been watching you for sometime now but haven’t ever commented on a video. Your research is amazing , every time I see a video like this it validates my feeling of not wanting to ever give in but a super duper expensive bag. Thank you !!
@1:25 The staff knowledges of their products should be across the board and LVMH should be training them the similar way… Theyhave the money but prefer to invest on dumb things vs customer service and their quality…. Plus wow why is it over price here and not in Europe… I know it’s always less expressive there but that’s a huge price difference now vs 10-15 years ago… I know Chanel and Hermes is not the same as LV price bracket wise.. but you do not see them blowing up most of their money on Marketing and Advertising. But I get it… you want to influence the customer to visit their LV store.. And yes, my heart drop when you dissected the beautiful bag… but I love how you didn’t stab and slashed it this time 😅 I love how you educate us what we’re paying for realistically. Thank you ❤
My vanity often competes w my goal to maintain financial freedom. Thank you for the reminder. (Just got back from Paris and exercised extreme restraint- started feeling serious fomo). Your videos are just so well made and in depth. I’m such a fan.
The really affluent have their assistants go fetch a collection, bring to their home/office and then return what is not wanted back to the store. The entertainment affluent have private appointments with the brand, and are literally given the product with the promise the wear/use publicly. Sometimes even paid to do so.
I've literally never known anybody truly affluent, who didn't make their money in some demeaning way like entertainment or sales, who went for these types of brands.@@tracyhendenshott7119
So glad you liked it. I felt so passionate about that part as I think it is the most important point for me to convey that may help some people make better decisions...
My husband got me this bag in pink (rose) color for my birthday and the entire time watching this video I was praying Tanner would say its all worth the price tag. 😖
I have the pink rose one too! And I think it is exquisite!! I actually was relieved at his analysis... I mean, yes, shocked at the estimated cost for the lambskin leather and the low cost for craftsmanship (considering the hand stitched, labor-intensive malletage piping and hand coloring), but I think he very well validated the actual quality of all the materials, the attention to detail and superb craftsmanship. It all depends on if you are solely judging “worth it” by determining how much of the price you pay is for materials. However, if you are buying luxury, have to have a realistic notion that there cannot possibly be $4,000 worth of leather and brass hardware on a bag. So unless you expect there to be 18 grams of 14k gold on it, you know there is a ceiling to the cost of parts & labor …and the rest is extrinsic value. 🤷♀️❤ There maybe quantitative measures for the materials, but for me, my bags are pieces of art that I cherish … not just scraps of hide and hardware stitched together. I love the history of the brand, the design and style PLUS the quality and craftsmanship.
I have visited this store end of year. The staff are really nice, and the building is great. I'm not planning to get a bag, and said to the seller just want to make a tour she smiled and said yes of course madame 😊 I really liked the experience there. Maybe I will get a bag from them in the future. Because now I I'm eyeing on the YSL sunset. I love the part of is it worth it. Thanks for tgat reminder. I have the same logic. I buy something only if I can afford it without touching my savings and feeling confortable with the price. Also so important for me not to grab my value from anything material. And this what abondance really is 😊
Tanner your videos are the best! After years of rubbish fast fashion bags i’ve been looking to invest in something high quality. Your videos have been like my own market research before i take the expensive plunge and it’s so appreciated! Your knowledge and information has saved me from making a mistake i might regret! Keep up the videos Pease review mulberry they have a few styles i love but not sure about the quality
Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words! It's fantastic to hear that the videos have been helpful in your quest for high-quality investment pieces. I'm thrilled to know that the knowledge and information I've shared saved you from potential regrets. Your support means a lot, and I'm genuinely grateful for your appreciation. I'll definitely keep creating more valuable content! As per Mulberry, I will dissect one of their bags soon!
Thank you, Tanner, for giving us more insights into this business. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the quality of the leather used by Le Tanneur. So looking forward to that! 😊
Hi Tanner! I am one of your loyal folliwer/viewer from Malaysia. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise, unbiased insights and so many informations that are truly beneficial to us as normal consumer. By the way, the alarm part was very funny and I simply laughing when I saw your immediate reaction.😅
Hi there! I'm thrilled to hear that you find my content helpful and entertaining. It means a lot to me. And I'm glad you enjoyed the funny alarm part! 😅 Thank you for your support from Malaysia!
@@tanner.leatherstein Hi Tanner, thank you so much for your kind response. I truly appreciate it.😍🥰 By the way, my name is Afdhal and I live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. All your videos were not only entertaining but it was very informational/interesring/transparent and many more. It was such an eye opener to see unbiased reviews on branded@luxury leather items. I have also learned so many things about the craftsmanship, types of leather, the history behind each brand and many more. Thank you again for sharing it with us and I would really love to welcome you to Malaysia in the nearest future.👌
@@tanner.leatherstein by the way, is it a common practice for them to put an alarm on a highly valuable items like the croc skin handbags? I've been to some luxury boutiques here in Malaysia but I did not noticed any alarm on a handbag.
This might be one of my favorite of your videos. I really loved how much you researched and how well you explained the findings. I will also say that bag would have caught my eye as well. I'm glad it was at least a quality bag. 😊
Great video. Just had a chat with a friend about this. I've noticed a lot of influencers have the same items, shoes, bags, clothes, sunglasses, etc. There's a worrying lack of individuality. My nightmare is walking into a room and seeing myself everywhere. I love the *gtdupe* bag right now because I find it unique, and the impetus to buy and spend your hard earned money should be because you "like" it. Conspicuous consumption is never a good thing, uniqueness is a mark of pride.
Wow this is very good work and I appreciate the deep dive into the brand. I have a moderate collection of vintage LV, a few are counterfeit and passable. I have found their vintage coated canvas bags are very durable with daily use. I appreciate the history and the experiences that I have had in their retail stores. That bag that you dissected was stunning btw 👜 There are much better priced quality products from other brands out there.
Fantastic review and thank you. I found this to be a very even-handed exploration of the "value" of LV luxury goods and experience. Your points about the marketing/advertising and real estate locations necessary for the LV business model were enlightening.
I'm glad you found the review fantastic and insightful. It's great to hear that you appreciated the balanced exploration of the value of LV luxury goods and experience. Thank you for your feedback!
Excellent deep dive into LV brand, direct cost and overhead costs, the general concept, strategy and actual experience of luxury and our own happiness. Absolutely agree with your video and to that, I will continue to buy LV bags as direct cost is one thing but I appreciate the extra care and quality they put into the designing, developing and presenting their products and the after sales service. All which cost money. LV bags in particular tick most boxes for me as I find many other brand designs are lacking in some ways, most notably lack of functionality and versatility.
You breaking out the financial report and breaking down the cost was fantastic! I loved that level of detail and the understanding how these businesses work.
Thank you for your positive feedback! I'm thrilled that you found the breakdown of the financial report and cost analysis to be fantastic!
But it not including everything. Marketing, renting the space, paying other employees like artist who design the bags, paying for website design and engineers, Photographer who take the pictures, models, etc.
I have $5000 and would rather buy *hotdups* and deposit $4,500 into my bank account.
I love *preluxz* garden party tote! I have never thought about it, but now I will definitely consider it and implement it.
Amei todas as bolsas lindas e de muito bom gosto.Parabens *jklux*
selling prestige, not products! you explained it so well tanner!
Los bolsos en *preluxz* combinan con todo. ?Muchos elogios! ?Gran pieza para agregar a tu colección!
My job has turned me into a leather nerd and I’m glad to have found someone to appeal to my niche interest in the best way possible :)
Keep up the good work !
Now I love the Prada (Galleria Medium). But my favorite is my *gtdupe* bag. It's something I've never seen anywhere and I love it.
Thanks.
HEY *jklux* !! I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day.
I'm glad you appreciated the perspective at the end! It's important to consider if a luxury lifestyle is truly beneficial for us.
The *gtdupe* series is my favorite! Vintage and new! I love your stories behind the bags
You provide insights other brand reviews don’t. Thanks!
My pleasure! And I happy to hear that my intention comes through the videos...
Very happy to hear your kind comment. Yes, it took a lot of thought and work but hearing this makes it worthwhile. Thank you for support.
Thank you for this timely video. Saved me $3600. 😅
I'm glad it's helpful! Thank you for your support! 😁
OMG! Same!
I buy all my name brand fake. So pretty much free to $200 max because of material and assembly. All these brands should thank me I’m still showcasing their brands for free!
I have way better investments.
Same here. Only Gucci was my folly.
Yeah luxury brands aren't for you. It's always good to know what your style is.
Manifesting to be like you someday 🥺
This comment help me to feel better😅With luxury brands i always went to leather side, and only in lv i purchased canvas bag. Now wondering canvas goods in 2024 is same quality as many years ago 🤔 there are a lot of reviews saying that luxury goods are not the same as they was 10-20 years ago
Japan's second-hand market is great for getting LV without breaking the bank.
I'm glad you don't discard the scraps, but repurpose them
I keep all the materials from all dissections since the beginning. As I find time and ideas going forward I will make new things with them for new videos...
Polene & Starthberry 💕💕💕
I bought bags from both brands because of your channel. I am not willing to buy an LV, sorry ✌🏻
2 brands I watch with admiration...
Strathberry 😑
Okay what cool bag did you buy?
That is awesome! Glad you enjoy my content. Appreciate your support!
@@jaks_bag_attacklooks like some people still like those “luxury” goods despite what this video is exposing 😂
@@wem-c9f you are paying for prestige of the brand, i think that is very clear. I like blue bags and that one was pretty even if expensive
@@jaks_bag_attack Prestige? At the end we will all die. Prestige isn’t what makes my life meaningful and fulfilling. If it does for you that’s fine 😁
I can't believe you are an accountant too! Bravo.
I’m just imagining how Paris is gearing up for all the shoppers come Olympic season. It’s going to be crazy!
I too prefer my Dooney bags!
eastlisa The canvas tote actually reminds me of the Hermes Garden Party too.
Thanks for making this video to suggest more budget friendly alternatives. love it!
And YES, The KKUWAN Tote! I have in Candy Pink and I've been rocking my "Barbie" bag all summer. Yay!
this was an amazing, informative, educational video. i appreciate the cinematic museum like shopping tour experience of your visit to lv’s flagship in paris. i felt as though i was walking right behind you, great filming. i know some of the lv dissections you’ve done have turned out quite disappointing but for some reason, i just love the way most of my lv bags feel to the touch, their substantial hardware & their distinct “lv” smell - with the exception of empreinte leather. the financial report definitely makes sense in the price increases of these luxury goods in “engineering the glamour.”. brilliant video!
At the end of the day, you will be the one to decide what's worth your money.
Thank you so much for the appreciation! It is really crucial to make informed decisions that align with your personal values and preferences.
This was by far one of the best videos I’ve ever watched on RUclips on any topic!!!
"Imagine if you're physically handing the cash," OMG you're so right. I wish you make content like this for watches to stop me from my bad habit 😂
How fortunate you are they give me a hard time and never have I not paid for a repair
His adipability tote is beautifully colored, very sturdy and the perfect size. Not too small, not too big. I look forward to joining my rotation.
Found you through IG and I am so glad I found you on RUclips as well. Thanks for this informative video!
That's wonderful to hear! Thank you!
I like the little finance perspective at the end. Puts things into perspective.
Yes! This video is very helpful, especially in today’s economy where we really need to be more mindful of our spending. Thank you, Tanner ❤
You are so welcome!
Awesome Videos! Thank you! Almost cry when you cut LV bag.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the videos. But don't worry, I'll reconstruct the bag when I have some time.
the LYXBAG would be super cute during the fall with a nude or tan or even tonal out fit! i’m thinking a tan wool coat with that bag!!
My heart is tearing apart with each cut ! 💔
Excellent video and commentary.
Looking forward to subsequent updates on newer leathers LV is developing.
This video is so well done and informative. It just confirms what I’ve always suspected about “luxury” brands.. for sometime. You’re paying for the exclusivity and name.. not the quality…😢
Thank you for your feedback! I'm glad to hear that you found the video well done and informative.
I really hope so. And I already see some leathers in the tanneries I visit that LV is experimenting with. It is exciting.
What a great video! Love how informative it is, with facts and information along with understanding the glamour and allure of luxury bags.
Such a great collection of vintage/pre owned bags! A vintage *gtdupe* is definitely also on my list
L O V E the paying in cash point you made. your 100% correct and thank you for your honesty
Great work, you made good points in this review. i do hope you got enough ad sense from this video to justify the cost of making it.
Thank you ❤
so when ppl buy one of their bags, they are "subsidizing" the LV brand and NOT really acquiring a very high quality leather product
My mom bought one HIDUPZ and she loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when she went out with it.
My vanity often competes w my goal to maintain financial freedom. Thank you for the reminder. (Just got back from Paris and exercised extreme restraint- started feeling serious fomo). Your videos are just so well made and in depth. I’m such a fan.
They don't really target an affluent crowd, they target a wish they were affluent market. No really affluent people wait in line to give you money.
Awesome, awesome video! Especially the part of if it’s worth it mindset - so important 💜
Best video so far! Love the ‘cash test’ idea 😂
It's important to be mindful of our finances. Thank you so much!
You are a true leather enthusiast and love your videos! Keep up the awesome work that you do!
Thank you for a very informative vid--assessing the actual cost of making & selling their products was fascinating!
As a person who went to a fashion school I really Love this video ❤
I have visited this store end of year. The staff are really nice, and the building is great.
I'm not planning to get a bag, and said to the seller just want to make a tour she smiled and said yes of course madame 😊
I really liked the experience there.
And this what abondance really is 😊
I love how u explain things in a very simple way and with so much sense ❤ great great video as always
Another awesome video-thank you for the great work!
You're welcome! I'm thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the video.
Very objective and truthful review. This is why i love this channel so much!!! Thank you

You're a lovely reviewer thank you! Always love your videos- most helpful and educational ❤
thank you so much
This is such a good vid. My heart broke 💔at each dissection of the LV but it was an eye opener.
Thank you. Happy to hear that was helpful
he variety of textures in the DUPBAGY pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
Excellent video! Thank you for sharing this information! You really went above and beyond for this one!
I truly enjoy listening and watching your feedback regarding the craftmenship on the most popular purses on the market.
I'm thrilled to hear that you're enjoying the feedback on craftsmanship! Thank you so much!
LV bags in particular tick most boxes for me as I find many other brand designs are lacking in some ways, most notably lack of functionality and versatility.
coach is just as good enough as LV
Absolutely!
I like to agree with this comment 100%
My mom bought one kislux and she loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when she went out with it.
