    Just to clarify, since some people seem quite confused -
    Jeep has never sponsored us & never paid us. Ford does not sponsor us & does not pay us. They never will. We are NOT brand loyalists. We enjoy having the freedom to drive whatever vehicles we want, while being able to maintain the integrity of saying whatever we want about those vehicles. Good or bad. You also have the freedom to enjoy or be offended by our honest opinions. ❤️

      I'm not knocking your review of the 392 but I think jeep did a great job bringing it to the market at this price point. No way you could build one for what they are asking. This isn't just a v8 swap but a complete up grade. And you get a factory warranty.

    As a technician who has to work on cars that other people have done modifications to, great job Chris on catching the issue with the fender bolt and doing something about it. The vast majority of people would never have seen that, and if they did see it would not have addressed it before welding the sliders on.

      Yeah, attention to detail is important.
      Also getting sliders that are beefy enough for what you do, is important.
      Or axles, or transmissions that can take the abuse ...
      Speaking of which, Scotty Kilmer thinks that the new Ford Bronco might have too small of a transmission for big tires.
      Just a little detail, I guess! 🤣
      Not a big deal for the average guy that doesn't rock crawl, but I know you Kevin ..
      You're gonna put bigger wheels on it, aren't you ?

Even if it was full time it won't wear anything if used properly and maintained its just some extra weight needed to turn.
    And cv are great very big angle, very strong i mean ultra 4 ifs uses cv and they are great

Current Jeep 392s start at $75K with no added options, and are currently being marked up to around $90K by just about every dealership. This is more like the Quadratrac transmission/transfer case they put in the old Wagoneers.

    You should have activated Offroad + mode if you were looking for crisp sporty shifting. It doesn't have the same 850RE transmission as a standard JL. They upgrade it to the 8HP75 that's designed to handle more power than that of a 392. It also comes with 3.73 gears from the factory so a gear change would give you more of the performance your looking for.

      The Offroad + wasn’t working and neither were the paddle shifters. It just said unavailable for some reason. We tried manual mode on the shifter as well and no go

    Just bought new 392 Rubi. I have owned a YJ and TJ, still own an LJ, JK and '18 JLUR on 37s with 488s and other goodies. I've wheeled Moab and the JLUR has been a great vehicle. As I understand from Baldy's Jeep Shop in Cedar Park, Tx. I can program the system on my new 392 for rear drive only. A trip to Moab in early August with Pritchett on the list of trails will be a great test...just adding 37 Milestar and Method Beadlocks and of course a winch. I will let you know just how the 392 handles after the fact.

    I think a tune exhaust etc. on the 392 will totally kick the bronco raptor‘s buttt, I also think the 392 would be an awesome daily driver, it’s the best Jeep they’ve ever built, And in regards to the front axle jeep did what it did to protect their liabilities & the customer purchasing the vehicle, I think Jeep was brilliant to make this full-time four-wheel-drive I’ve driven plenty of powerful V-8 swaps and when you jump on them they will go sideways on the highway so I think this was brilliant for full-time 4 Wheel Dr. and comparing a fully modified jeep that’s been swapped out to a high horsepower V8 that’s a totally different world than one coming from the factory, I say for the person who can afford a new 392 go for it, use it however you wish and be proud as hell of it because it’s pretty awesome what has accomplished, kudos to Jeep and its engineers. So the folks that are considering a 392 I say listen to yourself and what you want not what other people compared to extremely modified jeeps. He wouldn’t buy it but I would. Kudos to you Jeep😃

    I get your point of view on the 392 vs the step child, however a quick chat about the cost time and effort involved to reliably swap a v6 jlu to a 6.4 should have happened in this vid. Much more money and headache. Upgrade a couple things in the stock 392 and it’s gonna rip the same. Plus the time, stress and probably money savings are a big point. No 2wd is a huge downer though, not sure about that issue.

    • @LiteBrite
      @LiteBrite 3 года назад

      The 392 would actually cost more than our Jeep did. We purchased our JLUR for $42K in 2018 and the AMW Hemi swap is $35K. We retain the 2HI and have a bit more power. The 392 Rubicons are currently selling for around $90K. Most other upgrades are the same for either vehicle. But you do get a warranty of sorts with the factory route. But we’re also 2 years and about 60K miles on our swap with no issues. So it’s all really about preference.

    • @texasbryan
      @texasbryan 3 года назад

      @@LiteBrite However, if you had bought a loaded up Rubicon in 2018, it would have been about $53K. I know because I owned one. The 392 comes from the factory loaded up and many dealers are selling them for MSRP if you order it, which is roughly $77. So the real price for the engine, suspension and frame upgrade is about $24K which is $11K less than the AMW swap and you have a full factory warranty.

      @@LiteBrite Even more reason to have quickly reviewed a cost comparison between the two in this vid then, either way it’s relevant content to this vid. There’s obviously also the fact of the other components beefed up in a factory 392 vs conversion but since I don’t know every component America’s a most wanted upgraded during the swap I couldn’t argue which was a better value.

    • @FreakyT333

      Just saw that the Tazer will give 392 owners line lock and rwd options! So the no 2wd complaint is out now too. I still think a factory 392 is a better bargain to an aftermarket swap, especially after adding a few upgrades.
