Also remember he scored zero penalties. Other strikers usually get like 5-8 free goals from penalties a season. So Højlund actually had a 21-24 goal season. Not bad at all.
@@mresquidgeward5965 his movement in the box is superb. His movement outside the box is sub par. Man Utd currently being a transition team limits the other aspects of his game. An easy advice to him when playing as the target man would be: once you successfully execute a hold up play, try not to run with the ball but rather limit yourself to two touches so you can make the run to arrive at the box for the final ball. He can get an extra five goals from this alone
Fast, Strong, Can shoot off both feet, good first touch, decent passer, decent holder. It hasn’t been a prolific season but we have seen a well rounded 21 year old who’s only going to get better in the next few seasons so long as he works on his game. I back him to net 20+ next season. Get em Rasmus 😎
Hojlund is a big guy and the way he moves with the ball and at the speed he does move at is great technical striker but can do some dirty finishing if it's a needs must if he's team can play for him he will get more goals and the greatest thing about him is he creates something on his own aswell he definitely got flavor to him
This guy as a supporting striker with a striker in front of him will be dangerous, his awareness, passes, eye for goal, countless attributes. I can't wait to watch him next season.
pls can we start playing Hojlund as more of a dynamic striker? i hate to c this finisher-esk striker that just makes runs and waits for the ball. we're missing out on so much of what made us sign Hojlund in the first place. he has the dribbling, the pace, the strenght, in other words the foundation, to really become a complete striker. but this idea of playing him as this finisher is rly just boring. a lot of his highlights were him on the ball, with the ball. Atalanta knew how to play him effectively and understood his skillset, at Utd we're just playing him as some half-assed striker. Hojlund is amazing but it's so sad to c that we arent taking advantage of the very thing that makes him amazing.
that's why he's been coming off the bench as of late, his fresh legs enable him to dribble more against a tired defence, and it obviously worked cuz his goals vs Newcastle and Brighton were all his work
The team needs to learn first how to consistently serve him chances. Once they learn how to do that, then its fine to use Hojlund himself in more dynamic roles like the sub appearances at the end where he is essentially initiating quick counter on his own
100% agree. Don't know who told him to constantly run into to the same place in the box wrestling with 3 defenders when he clearly has much more to offer in the general play. Some of his progressive passes are absolutely gorgeous and he should have had at least 5 more assists this season.
Bro wth are u talking about, he press a lot he helped our defense he chase the ball coz none of his teammates going to give him the ball, he's doing very well in off ball situations, almost all of his goals came from his individual skills
Lol I disagree He wasn't as the way you portrayed it at Atalanta He wasn't some 20-goal striker per season as well. The main reason he was bought was because he's young and he has the potential and many time to develop. I understand he gets little service from his teammates but he's also raw. The only Man Utd just have to do is get a good, older, more experienced striker to compliment him, instead of relying too much on him as our forward. He has a lot to learn. 16 goals isn't bad for a striker in a disorganized team. But he's not some Kane, Benzema as you're trying to portray it. Moreover, he presses a lot, he doesn't just stay in the box 24/7. So I don't get your point.
he will score 20 + premier league goals minimum next season with better service As a Arsenal fan, the moment I saw him play against us earlier in the season I knew he was a quality signing gave Gabriel something to think about , physically his hold up and link up play is exceptional I would say better than Haaland in that respect. Score all kinds of goals , strong and has a very deceptive pace and acceleration . Funniest thing about him now is hes still not really getting proper service from his wide players, united just need someone that can cross and play him in more and he will cook. Kinda jealous as we dont have a striker .
dude actually United didn't have a striker for a long time, because martial is kinda injury prone and we can't rely on him. but still i like to see United get experienced striker for mentoring Hojlund.
context is very key, his finishing accuracy is actually good. With the horrible service he received he still finished with a 16 goal season. That is impressive in a young players first season in the prem. Id only say he needs to work on his timing of his off ball runs, but other than that he can become a complete center forward.
his finishing is very good. He outperformed his XG by 0.13. The eye test also shows he can score different types of goals. It is his XG that is quite low. Due to both having wide forwards rather than wingers and his poor off the ball runs in transitions
if ferguson still in man utd, he will make sure other guys to give the ball to him.. it is his 1st season and the quality is there..need more service from other players.
many people are scrutinizing him, because he plays for United, but remember that he is still very young and belongs to the group with potential, which needs to be honed more, so wait.
The crazy thing is how he showed in the last couple of games he was way better than Halland the guy took his man to his weaker foot two times in two different games and scored …the goals were just a joy to watch
The fans with their high expectation without minding how young the players was even messi in his young age was surround with experience players he looked up to and develop his games imagine this guy coming to Manchester united as starter without looking up to anyone when Ronaldo came to Manchester united he met big players
I just wanna say, thank you for adding commentary over this instead of just clips with some shitty music at full volume that doesn't let me focus on what im watching
One thing i hate about some people's comments is the fact they look outside reality this guy is young and need much coaching to develop. It is unfortunate that the young led in the United under experience prayers in their position because it will help them develop their games and improve because we all can see the great potential in them we have amazing young players with good talent let's give them time to read the games and understand since they were no understudy in their position
very good dribbler and passer and very strong, reminds me a bit of wayne rooney, of course not as technically gifted as rooney. always running at defenders and tussling with the ball against the opponent, very different compared to martial or even rashford
This guys is a great 2nd striker or a great "target forward" to hold the ball, and create time and space for another forward or the 2nd to walk up the pitch. He is defenitely wasted as just a "striker" that touches it into the net. Strong, fast, good awareness. Hopefully they understand how to use him better
If Gernacho could pick him out more often he’d get more goals. The reason I think we should sell Rashford too! If Sancho was up to par with the premier league he could’ve maybe provided more service. A right forward that doesn’t hold the ball up (Anthony) that’s fast and can put a good ball in is what we need.
Ten Hag needs to stop playing him as a target striker. He shouldn't be playing with his back to goal. Let him make runs and be a more dynamic striker. We also need the team mates around him to support him more with passes that lead to goals.
He was scoring every game until he got injured. Came back without his form, got benched and scored 3 in a row. Next season is about, hope he doesn’t get injured coz he will defo cook.
He will never score as many goals as he does for the Danish national football team and the reason is that he’s teammates in ManU are selfish, they doesn’t service him, they prefer to finishing them self instead of making the chances bigger… I can’t understand why Ten Hag hasn’t done anything to the problem, instead he has been putting him on the bench. Look at how many easy goals Haaland has scored without doing much himself because he has quality players to feed him. It must be very frustrating to be Rasmus Højlund when he’s playing for ManU……
@@JoshLucas-ix8kq Yes you’re right, but it seems like this has been going on for the whole season and it doesn’t seems like Ten Hag has done anything to change it which I don’t understand, instead he has been putting Højlund on the bench…..
Ten Hag isn’t the best coach for him. He’s a striker not a midfielder, has to drop down to the midfield to help teammates. 45 goals per season if he played for De Zerbi cos he uses his wingers like Mitoma to feed Welbeck.
Problem is player power: ETH: Marcus, you need to make the early pass to Højlund Rashford: What if I don't and keep dribbling into the alley in corner and pass back, or kick it out of stadium? Considering the 16 or so goals he has scored, with the extremely limited service he’s had, is a damn good tally for his first season. United! 😊
Also remember he scored zero penalties. Other strikers usually get like 5-8 free goals from penalties a season. So Højlund actually had a 21-24 goal season. Not bad at all.
