    *Great auger! **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it’s blades came very sharp and when attached to the drill adapter, this auger chews through 18" of ice like butter!*

    20volt and 18 volt are the exact same thing. A few companies just call them 20v max in North America. Many videos showing the comparisons.

    You used the weakest makita brushless drill. The xph12T/Z models smash that 07. Would have been just as good or better than your big Dewalt.

    Nice review. Just to let you know I think you had the settings on those drills too high. I first did the same thing. Then when I cranked down that's where the torque kicked in and it worked a lot nicer and lot faster.

    I wish you would have told us the torque inch pounds of each drill apparently that's the most important number. I have a 8inch auger and a new in the box dewalt max DCD777C1, Brushless 20 volt 575 inch pounds torque, do you think that will cut it, pun intended. The Milwaukee, fuel has 1200 in lbs the right one for the job but just too expensive.

    You all know there’s zero difference between 18v and 20v right? They both use the exact same cells and operate at the same voltage. Some companies use “max” while others use the more common nominal voltage. Only difference is the number they stick on the side in china.

    I think this test is a great idea. However, I don't think the comparison was on a completely level playing field for all drills because all the batteries were different. Smaller batteries carry less charge, and I believe some of the smaller batteries also don't have as great a power output as the larger options. Additionally, and I don't know this specifically, but I would venture to say that the torque specs for each drill might vary by brand, which is also something to consider when making an assessment. Just food for thought.

  • @loucifer323
    @loucifer323 2 года назад

    If you would have put a 4amp battery on the craftsman it would have beat Makita clearly and if you put a 9amp on it would compete with the dewalt

      Probably but how you gonna attach it my 1/2in snap on impact has more torq then any of the drills here but i cant use it cause no way to use it so i use the milwaukee m18 1200lbs hammer drill and that works amazing but i want to upgrade to the kdrill

    • @devonwatt2194
      @devonwatt2194 2 года назад +1

      Impact doesn’t work for augers. You want smooth consistent rotation to maintain your blades. The impact will damage your blades pretty quickly

    • @jeremysmith6236
      @jeremysmith6236 2 года назад

      Impact did not work out as well. Used mine after my drill gave out and it's just annoyingly loud and will wreck the scew holding the adapter to the kdrill. Light pressure worked out the best, just before the impact kicks in.

    I was just notified by DeWalt that K-Drill augers cannot be used with ANY DeWalt DRILLS. If you are caught by DeWalt, your warranty will be immediately void.
    Even though K-Drill made videos of using DeWalt drills with their auger, they are misleading. DeWalt drills are not made to be used this way.
    My own warranty was voided because of this.
