if you are a mechanic or garage owner, then i would prefer a product called SCAN D. Its available in amazon. I have been using it for the past 3 years. its supported on all cars from 1996 onwards. its easy to use and it can be used with installing a software on mobile phone. I had used cheap elm327 as well. but the SCAN D is best(not a promotion)
Hi mate, i would never trust a mobile phone based scan tool. As a technical trainer i use the best out there to perform advanced diagnostics and my scantool has labscope capabilities too. I do programmings very often after a module replacement which this scan d wont do.

@@vetec-anadvancedautomotive7607 you are right. I totally agree. But if it's a kind of a mechanic who couldnt afford a big scan tool, then mobile tools can be used!.
The use of tools will completely depend upon the level of work and knowledge each mechanics have. So for majority of small workshops, mobile tool is more than enough. But of course like as u said, there is no programming, no advanced diagnostics and no other modules!
@@warmexpression precisely but thats why we have created this channel to show our Indian automotive community how advanced and progressing this trade is and its not always about just the scan tool but rather about understanding what the scan-tool is showing and interpreting that information. Beenwhile Small scan tools are a gateway drug to better products for majority of common people's.
Here in India the knowledge background and technical understanding of everythg is very low for mechanics and workshops. But they do have experience and idea of how to resolve an issue. Since they don't have much knwlege there is a degree of stress for which they put themself back purchasing high end tools at first!. Instead I would Prefer them low end scan tools, and get familiar with the concept and later go to advanced as per the degree of mindset of each individuals
