Wow! I haven't listened to this in 50 years! It still holds up. I love the orchestration, the jazzyness, and Shawn's voice. My kind parents drove myself and 3 other 16 year olds to London. Ontario to see him in concert in 1971, maybe 1972. He was great live. Ah, wonderful memories.

His first 4 albums are a gift to the world, waiting to be discovered still some 50 yrs later after their first release. I was lucky enough to have a couple older brothers who were into him back in 1970 and went to his concerts whenever he came thru Houston,TX. I'd sneak into their room and put the headphones on and listen to Shawn just sweep me away into a musical world of unbridled passion and joy...it was a magical time back in December, 1970...this LP and his third one will always have a special place in my heart.

His first two albums were cut for Columbia in the UK in 1965 and 1966 and are very hard to find.

I am also from Houston and heard Sean Phillips singing for the first time in 1970. So many powerful songs knocked me off my feet then and do now. Howdy, Brian. :-)

Saw him in Duluth, MN back in the early '70's. How lucky were we to have him in our small city. I always head back to listen to his music when I want to hear a real artist.

My college roommate (u of mn) 1973 put the arm up on her record player and had second contribution on free play! I guess it was love it or leave! As a music major from a very small MN. town, I, of course was smitten with his storytelling and vibrato. Exquisite

Had this album at the University of Texas back in the early 70s. He came through Austin, went to it stoned, listened to this album until my bang and olfson turntable wore out. Cross between folk and jazz. Still a hidden jewel, not sure why

Agreed- I was at his concert in the Detroit area. A bar basically that usually played disco . He never had the recognition he deserved. I do my best
