Thank you so much for putting this on!! I have a very, very old music box that had the name of the song"Helston Fury Flora" printed on the back but quite faded. I've played that music box off and on for over 70+ years as it was inherited from my Mother!! FINALLY...I am to hear it played by a band and see dancing!! Thank you so much!!
For those of us who have absolutely no idea what's going on, can someone explain? How'd they fit that many couples in that building, not to mention the musicians!?!
We have danced the furry the same way for hundreds of years! Here’s some footage from 112 yrs ago and another from 68 yrs ago! m.ruclips.net/video/nN_1pQx76eQ/видео.html&pp=ygUUaGVsc3RvbiBmbG9yYWwgZGFuY2U%3D m.ruclips.net/video/qNdo6wT9Ers/видео.html&pp=ygUUaGVsc3RvbiBmbG9yYWwgZGFuY2U%3D
Ps I forgot to mention the first time it was written about was in a gentleman's Magazine in 1790, but we have been dancing the furry for hundreds and hundreds of years before the outside world discovered it! 😂😀
A pale and limp remnant of the revel recorded over a hundred years ago of the true folk festivities. All were welcome to join in and it was not by invitation to the nobs. The original dance must've been a gaudy and gay affair.

Show the other side in the pubs. Some might change their mind about this day then.
How does that shop hold all those couples?
Good customer service and reasonable prices
"I counted them all out and I counted them all back".
I really like the Polish “Mazurka” influence in the dancing. Whose idea was that?
Some bloke in the 1860s, likely!

What day is this held on?
Normally may the 8th but this year the 8th is a Sunday so it’s on the 7th this year
Gay day.
Looks more like an Easter parade.

re "The original dance must've been a gaudy and gay affair." - well, the gayness is still there.
@@daveenglish2 ...and which meaning of gay do you have in mind, dave?
Definitely. Lots of drinking and wenching. 😂😂😂
