@the middle man actualy she recorded this song year prior to this music video. Label didn't want to release the song, so she eventualy did it herself. It was hit in UK. Glad she did it, because this song with her vocals on it would be taken by JLo. Amerie had go go ideas in 2003 after All I Have Tour. Rich did that sound, what was result of "Can't Nobody" by Kelly Rowland and later "Crazy in Love" by Beyoncé. Amerie came out later because of obstacles with the label. If this would Come out sooner, it would be #1 for sure 🙂

She has a son (maybe more than one kid, not sure), a hubby, and she has a book club. She graduated Georgetown with a degree in English (which she earnedin the early 2000s before she launched her music career or around the same time). She still performs at festivals too. I follow her on IG and she performed at one recently. In all senses of the phrase, she has a good life.
The American music industry is biased towards real talent. If she is looking to restart her career she should try it in the UK . the industry here won't let her due to their bias towards her.
