It depends on whole system (one DVD-RW drive is one thing, but 2 is quite different). I have NVIDIA nForce 3 mainboard,. AMD Athlon 64 3200+, 2x1GB DDR400 RAM, ATI 3850 AGP, 3 harddrives, 1 DVD-RW, TV tuner, Wi-Fi card, 5 case coolers (+1 in PSU, +1 on CPU, +2 more on RAM). It's all powered by Thermaltake TR2-470W, so it got to be 470W unlike on some noname PSUs. Perhaps 350-400W also would be enough. Couldn't play Crysis - had terrible lags on Win7 Beta, but Fallout 3 is fine now on Win7 RC.

@MAJORyurix no you cant, because you are only able to put Intel Dual Core CPUs. And my CPU is Core 2 Duo, its a difference. what you need is a Intel® Pentium® Prozessor E6500 :)
nah, you schould read more :P The 3850 is at the same speed, but when you would take a 4850 then there will be a difference, thats the reason why ATI didn´t make a ATI HD 4850 AGP, the AGP has a Limit with the ATI HD 3870, but the PCI-E didn´t have the limit yet.
I have this card and it is awesome. 350W is plenty. I have a comp with a pentium 4 as well. This card has 512 mb of ram not 612. How did you oc the card to 750? the best I got was 720. Do u have wc or a vga fan or something?
@xSkylar64 i got a 7900gs agp a week ago, on my 1.5gb of ram Pentium 4 3ghz processor system, and the card is a huge improvement. I think that this card is alot better than 7900gs, but if you have a high demanding game like crysis near you, or COD, or something like that, try to get the HD3850 agp and try to test it . If there are good improvements in games, then you can get it. But i would suggest that you still buy a new pc if you have enough money :)
@BitesHisTail The HD 3850 is better than the HD 4670. You dont even have to look for some benchmarks, you can alrdy see it bcause of its specs, the HD 3850 has for example a 256bit interface and the HD 4670 only has 4670. The HD 3850 is like 20% better when im looking at the benchmarks
@bfbc2fanclub you do NOT have ddr3 ram with a AFP system. Please figure out, which AGP mainboard you have. You can use "Everst Ultimate" to figure out which mainboard you have. Just write a PM :)

I have a 650W psu. Using ATI overdrive it will only let me oc the core to 720 max. I suppose in Riva Tuner I could oc it to 750 but I am worried it won't be stable.

wouldn´t be a Big difference, the Newest BIOS P 2.20 updates your CPU code, so you get more Power ;) And you can use 4GB but when you have XP 2 GB is already enough! even when they are DDR1
can ya test it on oblivion and on Fallout 3. my computer reboots if I use 3D trees in oblivion and on Fallout 3 if I kill someone. and does it have good drivers, for 2600agp all drivers are buggy.
@swiftlaker6 not rly, high is not very hard. When u want to play very high or even Ultra high then the FPS will go MUCH more down ;) all on "high" is nothing special :o
The 3850 is better, but the difference isnt that big. The vram doesnt decide if a graphicscard is fast or not. In this case, the HD 3850 is slightly better because of the bigger interface, which is 256bit. THe HD 4670 is faster and has more stream processors, but it has a smaller interface.
Just bought this card for 2000 Cz crowns /about 100USD/ Here you can clearly see that PCIe was just a hype (the performance gain etc). At least in times when it was presented to public. AGP is sufficient enought to run the most graphic demanding aplications in 2010. No doubt. And yea, direct X 10-11 was the same marketing. All games look the same.

I have any amd 6000+ 3.1ghz 4gb oz reaper ddr2 1066mhz and an 8800gt. I can play everything on high at 1440x 900 and get 30-40 but i saw that you over clocked your 3850 alot which might be why you get better fps but i would think that wouldnt make up for the slower processor or slower ram.

I have a Pentium 4 and the Visiontek version of this card and have all settings on high with no overclock and I keep getting blackouts when I set shaders to high. Whenever I take damage, my screen goes black and it sometimes goes black at random during cutscenes too. Can you help me with this problem while keeping the shaders at high??

PCi-E is much faster then AGP. That the difference, but when u got a PCI-E 3850 or AGP 3850 it wouldnt make a difference. Only when u would compare a ATI HD 4870 PCI-E and 4870 AGP (AGP doesnt exist because the card would be much slower)

Your CPU only uses half of your memory speed unless you're overclocking it like hell. With this CPU you could get a lot more out of some good DDR1 memory and you could have your memory running at half the cas latency you have on your DDR2.

@seansco1 i would take Sapphire since i heard some heard about some driver issues with Powercolor.
@thepker147 512MB or 1GB its no difference, its only when you play on really high resolution, but since ur CPU is weak that wont happen.
@bfbc2fanclub I think they stopped making AGP compat cards after the 4xxx series for amd. 4670 is a good strong card though.

you need an upgrade even with your overclock the agp connection is slowing your card
When u have the same Board you need to flash your BIOS with the version 2.33C then you can use a 2 GB ramblock

what driver are you using? I use the CD-rom Driver cuz any other 'hotfix' or official driver causes freezing or crashes with this AGP card.

Since you have some fast RAM you at least have quite a bit of overclocking room for the CPU, that is if you want more CPU performance.
